After taking a look at a few different books, I have come to one conclusion: I'm not very good at picking feats. So, I've decided to ask you kind souls if you could point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a few feats that would be good for a low level Sorcerer with no specialization, fair AC, and good HP. Thanks for any and all ideas. :)

Don't look at your character as a conglomeration of statistics, however if you are going for a SORCERER who makes it obvious they are a SORCERERR and knows all about their magic I would reccomend Magical Aptitude. Otherwize Improved Initiative is usually the safest bet at low levels because the spellcaster wants to get their defensive spells off before the opponent attacks. I reccomend looking at reduce person (on yourself) as a defensive spell and to increase your ranged attack accuracy, and to help you hide from tough opponents (+4 size bonus to hide). Being a halfling works well with this. If you want good hit points though gnome might be a better choice. If you REALLY want good hit points you should take Toughness Feat. And if you are human and want good hit points and AC you should take Dodge and Toughness.

I would recommend Combat Casting, Eschew Materials, and Weapon Focus (you can pick any you desire, but Ray or Ranged Touch Attack would be my picks).

Why those feats, you ask? Simply because they are the feat prerequisites for the Battle Mage Prestige class, given to us in the Age of Mortals supplement for the Dragonlance campaing. Though available to wizards and sorcerors alike, the sorc. gains much more of a benefit from this class than does the wizard. In the process, you will net yourself two metamagic feats, bonus damage on any spell the causes damage, and the ability to give your allies a moral bonus to AC equal to your Charisma bonus

Further more, you gain all Knowledges as class skills from even one level, making all further prestige classes with Knowledge requirements much easier to qualify for. This is the A+ class, just good enough to make the salivation start, but not quite good enough to be broken.

Tell me this is not a sorceror friendly PrC. Come on, I dare you.

Spellcasting Prodegy is a great 1st level only feat.
Weapon Focus: Ray
Then later get Some Metamagics.

There is always the ever usefull Toughness and Improved Initiative and similar feats.
Most people tend to underestmate these feats, but a level one Tougness near doubbles your HP, but yes it does become a waste around fith or so. Take it for your human feat, however if you don't have the feat to burn, take it only if you reallllllly need HP (con 9 and such).
II provides a nice bonus to something very important. Bieng able to react first is very nice if you are a spell caster. You can get off your Sleeps and other crowd controll spells before large groups become a problem (and trust me they will).
Moblity is another nice choice. The one thing a caster dosen't want is to be traped on melle where he can do squat, and tends to drop fast. Moblity and its prerequirement Dodge can provide a nice +5 AC bonus against that big bruser that is about to lay waste to your puny d4 hit die.
It also gives you that cool Rincewind feel of a caster runing ducking then running away at top speed when out of spells.
Don't forget the mundane feats, they can save your but when in a tough situation.

Just remember, quicken spell is useless for sorcerers.

Most of the good ones have already been named.
Improved Initiative
Dodge - Mobility
Combat Casting
Wpn Focus (Touch, Ray, or Ranged Touch)
Eschew Materials

Here are some other good ones
Point Blank Shot (works on damage dealing spells w/in 30')
Percise Shot / Improved Percise Shot (good with Ray or Ranged Touch builds)
Spell Focus/Penetration

At higher levels or with specific builds
Augment Summoning
Improved Counterspell
Improved Critical (Touch, Ray, or Ranged Touch)

Of course all metamagic except Quicken Spell are great for Sorcerers. 5' step is a small price to pay for picking your metamagic on the fly.

Well, until epic levels when you can pick up Automatic Quicken Spell and Multispell. :)

As a sorcerer, I found that Improved Initiative was a really handy feat. And, no-brainers that they might seem, Spell Focus and Spell Penetration are pretty good (although Spell Focus is a little less potent in 3.5).

One use for Point-Blank Shot and Precise Shot that's occasionally overlooked is that they apply not only to your ray spells, but also any ranged weapons you might have.
