I'm going for still the undead good cleric, but not sure what kind of domain/god I should chose, and how if at all it will effect the charecter, the spell selection or what not. Were currently in a FR settingish, the dungeons sort of in limbo, but the charecters and such are from Forgotten Realms. |

As for a deity, lack of deity is more powerful (barring deity specific PrCs) as you get to choose any domain you want. Some powerful ones: Pride (reroll 1's on saving throws), Planning (extend spell as a bonus feat, thus letting you take Persist a little earlier), and I'm sure some others will come to me. |

PHB has them just after the Cleric's spell list, while SC has them in the very back of the book. |

| wolfwing03-19-08, 02:12 AM | Is there any limits on what spells a cleric can cast? heh There seems to be alot of spells in hundreds of different domains if you use all the various books. Does what domains you chose effect the spell selection at all? |

Does what domains you chose effect the spell selection at all? If a spell has an alignment descriptor, then you can't cast it if it is different from your actual alignment. Domains have little to no impact on what spells you can and can't cast. |
| wolfwing03-19-08, 02:40 AM | Heh is there a list of all cleric spells by level? The PHB only has it's list, and the books I've looked at just break them up into lists of spells alphebeticly. And for a undead slayer type cleric what domains would be good? I was thinking of Glory and, sun wold work rather nicly. He still be there for healing and such, but be useful for dealing with undead. |

In the SC, there is a spell list for every Core class. Don't bother with Turning.Get Complete Divine, snag Divine Metamagic and either Empower, Maximize, or Quicken spell to go with it, then take 10 levels in Radiant Servant of Pelor. Then watch as the Undead asplode like popcorn. The spell lists should have a section that shows what spells are what level. Then the individual text for the spells will have what level of a spell it is. |
| dman1123503-19-08, 12:02 PM | Do bother with turning to power divine feats. There is a distinction Sinfire. And yes, RSoP is the best PrC for dealing with undead. Bar none. The auto maximized/empowered cure spells deal massive damage to undead. However, I'd suggest as feats Extra Turning (prereq), Augment Healing, Touch of Healing (reserve feat from CChamp), and anything else you want, probably focusing on extending your spell slots, persist spell is nice for getting all day buffs, especially when combined with DMM (persist). Also find a divine feat or two you like, so you can power them with your massive number of turn attempts. |

And there are a few good Divine feats in Faiths of Eberron, if your DM will allow that splatbook for those feats. Oh, and remember to Eat Face while praising Pelor (Lathander). It always makes the Sun God feel better when you do. |
| Salla03-19-08, 12:56 PM | Go godless. Unfortunately, that's not an option in the Forgotten Realms. Anyway, a cleric can cast any spell on the general cleric list provided that it doesn't have an alignment descriptor opposite either one of his *or* one of his deity's. So, a Neutral Good cleric of a Lawful Good god can't cast Evil or Chaotic spells. |
