Civilized Summons? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-07-04, 12:30 AM Hey, I was wondering if summoned creatures could gain class levels? Like a Druid's animal companion for one, a familiar for two, or any summoned animals or whatnot that just happened to not die off right away? What are all the rules and whatnot when it came to things of that sort?

06-07-04, 01:04 AM Animal companions and familiars already advance, so no, I do not think they could gain class levels.

Other summoned animals tend to not last nearly long enough to gain class levels.
