Specifically, if it only effects all undead in a singular 60' line of effect or any undead in a 60' radius from the cleric. Believe it or not, last gaming session this was a heated debate topic in our group with no resolution. TIA. |

Range You turn the closest turnable undead first, and you can’t turn undead that are more than 60 feet away or that have total cover relative to you. You don’t need line of sight to a target, but you do need line of effect. This does not mean that it is a 60' line. All it means is that you need a "line of effect" to the target. Meaning that nothing can block the way (wall, door, big rock, etc...). It is a 60' radius. |

| bugman196408-19-07, 11:38 AM | now when turning do you damage the undead or just make them flee? |
| dndlocke08-19-07, 11:47 AM | You make them flee unless you got sun domain from Pelor then u can use 2 attempts to killem instantly instead of makin em run. Or if you have exalted turning i think it is then you do like 1d6 dmg i think to the creatures that you turn. The sun domains power can be used once a day, but if you take the feat disciple of the sun then u can do it as many times as you want. |

Believe it or not, last gaming session this was a heated debate topic in our group with no resolution. TIA. The question from the OP was about the 'potential' area of effect for the Cleric's undead turning ability. OP's question restated... With a single undead turning attempt... does the Cleric's turning attempt (a) 'potentially' affect any undead within a 60' radius or (b) only affect undead along a 60' line-of-effect (which the cleric must choose/target). In other words... is the turning like a ray or a radius/blast?? IMHO... the examples in the book do not say anything about the Cleric having to choose a target/line... so, I think it functions as a radius/blast. |
