I am looking for something that would tell me how much a feat is worth, compared to say a ranger/paladin casting progression, and how much a skill point is worth compared to having an animal companion. Maybe it would be something akin to a point system, where each ability is worth a certain number of points and there is a standard point value available to all classes. Looking through these boards I see that people have done an amazing amount of work in a lot of areas so maybe someone out there has worked on this. More specifically, I am trying to make a cool racial variant of the Ranger for a catfolk. In my campaign the catfolk are a plains people, think cheetah of the savannah or the plains Indians prior to the introduction of the horse. My first thoughts are the monk movement bonuses and slowfall(catfolk see) in exchange for the ranger spell progression, but that may be handicapping. I also was going to echange Animal Companion for Evasion at 4th (thus getting improved evasion later), but wonder again if that is giving too much for too little and I think Rangers need a bonus feat somewhere. I also wanted to work in the Horizon Shot and Farsighted from the Cragtop Archer Prestige Class in Races of Stone. Any help on either would be apprciated. |
