| Dareg Geradson05-27-06, 10:39 PM | Long explaination, question at paragraph 4 About 3 months ago in my current campaign, which has been running for over a year, one of the PC (A nordic era Dwarf fighter) met with an unfortunate demise, in a less-than-heroic death (grabbed and pulled under by a powerful monsterous squid). The party struggled valiantly in an attempt to save the PC throwing everything they had at it, but it was just not quite enough to save the character before he reached a depth that crushed his body. A nordic funeral boat was made in his honor and set out to sea. Disappointed but not upset, the player rerolled another character for the next adventure. He's been playing the character decently, but I have noticed he's not as into the character as he was when he was playing the dwarf. The storyline has progressed quite a bit and the heroes are much more influential with not only the mortal realm but the beings of other planes as well. I was thinking of using the Nordic mythos of Warriors of Valhalla (Einherjar) to allow a one-time-only 2nd life for his dwarf. How would you change a dwarven fighter to represent that sorta spiritual nature of a warrior from the afterlife? (He'd be at character level 9). |

| JadeSpider964305-27-06, 11:40 PM | why can't you just get the old character a true-resurection?, or something less if a body was recovered. And to respond in advance to any reason you give....."so what?" just do it....it's all about the players having fun. If he was having more fun with his old character...keep the character. |
