Monk/Cleric, or Monk/Paladin (if you use Ascetic Knight from Complete Adventurer) can be pretty good.

Are you just looking for the really out-of-the-box combos?

cuz you always have ranger/rogue, rogue/sorcerer (or wizard), i always thought barbarian/cleric was fun.......

if you know about the shadowbane inquisitor and devoted inquisitor feat (both from complete adventurer), paladin/rogue can be nearly unstoppable. especially w/ the shadowbane inquisitor class, since shadowbane inquisitors have way more wiggle room when it comes to a paladin's code of conduct. it's awesome. check it out.

I love the shadowbane inquisitor, but was he looking for any class combos or just base class combos? if it's the former he's going to get every powere gamer on the boards in here talking about their ultimate builds! lol. i can't wait

I've been pretty excited at the idea of a Ranger/Cleric or Ranger/Wizard since the thread on the OP board.
I wish I could get some good rolls when creating my character because I love this idea:
You get to the top of the hill and see 4 Guards. They are alerted to your presence and start running in your direction with their weapons drawn.
Me: I cast Ice Storm
DM: ok, all of them were hit and 2 of them show signs of being injured. They continue to come at you.
Me: I will use Quickdraw and pull out my Greatsword
DM: One guard that was ok has reached you and are attempting a charge attack
Me: I have Hold the Line
DM: He's KO'd
Others: Can we play, too?
DM: Nope, the others are fleeing.
Fighter 11/Wizard 9. This character is quite simply stout. Good reason for it... who needs to find weapons and armor? Just make them. Also, if your party gets too upset, you can cast spells like Waves of Fatigue and give your party a major advantage.

rogue barbarian.

note: Bbns have to be non-lawful, monks have to be lawful. You could lose a lot of abilities.

For a 20th level character that is a long combat against something as easy as giants. Now I love combo classes as much as the next girl but from my point of view you loss to much unless the classes are generally alike, such as Fighter/Barbarian/Ranger (ok, I think of Drizzt) here you will get a high attack from each class so you will be like a 20th level fighther with some different abilities, but are you a Fighter/Wizard you will be half the 2/3 the fighter and 1/5 the wizard... just my thoughts.

if you want some combo you need to go prestige class, where my favorite is Druide/Master of Many Forms, the utilities at 12th level is nearly endless and it can be the only Warrior in the group and still do good.

Monk/Rogue would make for an interesting character, as long as you focused on stealth for the monk levels.

Barbarian/Druid would also make for some interesting abilities.

As someone else posted; the Barbarian and Monk have conflicting alignment choices.

So, you could use two of the Monk variants from Dragon:

Chaos Monk (a wicked class)

or

Rage Monk

ninja wizard.
it's like the old classic rogue/wizard but it's a ninja, so better.
pretty much anything/wizard is good, as you may be able to tell, I like my spellcasting.

Head to the CO boards and look around. You'd be AMAZED at what you find there.

A few samples (mostly my own work, I admit) are in my sig.
