His "Sneak Attack-esque" damage is based upon his modified Iaijutsu Focus Skill (New), and is measured in d8. This stacks with other forms of sneak attack, and can create a hugely powerful first strike character. If you don't want to shell out cash for the book, though, keep in mind that quick draw allows the instantaneous draw of a weapon, which can then be used to attack as if it was pre-drawn. Keep in mind too that anyone who hasn't acted yet in initiative is treated as flat-footed, and thereby denied their dex bonus. Take a boat load of Rogue levels, Assassin levels, and Dread Commando levels, use a hard hitting martial/exotic weapon, then use diplomacy to engage someone in conversation...next thing you know, the innocent looking aristocrat has buried a Bastard Sword in your stomach. |
