Here's the thing, I want to create a class that is basically an explorer of the known and unknown world. They will travel any distance to discover if a legend or myth is true, recording all that they have seen in countless books. They will collect all manner of artifacts and souveniors on the journeys.

I would like it if people would reply with ideas for me, for example a name, BAB, save progression and all the usual class dependant information.

Thank you.

Use a Ranger class if you are looking for a fighter-type (ala Indiana Jones)

or a Bard for a scholarly type (ala his father).

Just alter the skills known to reflect the appropriate knowledge skills.

Yes both of these would work, more so with the Horizon walker. But the Horizon walker would sort of be a starting platform as big adaptions would be made. I want this character to be a Core class. Also I wouldn't have planar abilities as when I said unknown world I meant as in places people haven't seen before. Also I would have light armor proficiency and would have more special abilities.

There is still the Extreme Explorer from Eberron.
