I have a question regarding the Paladin's Class Features. In the PHB v3.5, it doesn't exactly differentiate between Special Abilities and Feats, and specificaly when it comes to Weapon and Armor Proficiencies? Are these proficiencies still feats or are they considered Special Abilities?

Also, I had some trouble figuring out what the little abbreviations in paranthesies stand for? ie. (Ex), (Sp), (Su), and soforth...

Also, the authors dont' seem to have to many types of helmets included in the Arms and Equipment Guide, or DM's Guide, or the PHB (still v3.5 except for the Arms and Equipment Guide though...) Could someone point on where I might these items if they exist?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, and for any help I would be most grateful! Thank You.

Well, the difference isn't really something of importance. The whole point is that taking one level in Paladin grants you the listed proficiencies. But, I guess if it really needs clearing up, it seems like a virtual feat, as you can take feats to gain those proficiencies.

Refer to page 289 of the DMG(3.5). Extroardinary, Spell-like, and Supernatural.

Well, helmets come automatically with several types of armor. Are you looking for magical helmets? If not, really, you can have the helmets appear however you want, that's not really set in stone.
