Hi!

I am wondering: Is there somewhere a list of classes (with their respective sources) in addition to cleric, that can (more ar less easily) fill the role of the healer in a party?

If not... maybe we could gather possibilities for such a list here in this thread? ;)

There's the healer class from the Miniatures Handbook.

do u mean healing-focused base classes? or prestige classes which focus on healing?

I think both could be helpful, though i was more concerned with base classes.

But yes, Healer does sound appropriate ;)

Cleric & Healer have the easiest time of it.

Druid, Favored Soul, Shukenja, Spirt Shaman, and Bard can be reasonable healers as well, though in some cases, particularly the Bard's you would need to take good PrCs to really be a top notch healer.

With the proper feats, Arcane Disciple (healing domain) & Spontanious Healer for instance, even a Sorcerer, Warmage, or Wizard could be a good healer for the group.

With plenty of wands of cure light wounds Rangers, Paladins, Rogues, and Warlocks can be out of combat party medics.

Classes that can fill healing role at some point:

1. Cleric/Favored Soul
2. Druid
3. Bard
4. Healer
5. paladin
6. Ranger
7. Psion (vigor + Empathic transfer. Empath transfer heals target and damages psion for same amount. Vigor will take damage first if used first). Kinda takes 2 rounds to pull off so not as efficient as the others, but adequete.
8. Anyone with use Magic device can pull it off with a wand.

Healer is a 20-level base class.

I've never tried it myself, or worked out the numbers, but I've heard Incarnates can also be reasonably effective.

Clerics are probably your best bet, though.

I've got the numbers for Incarnate over in the Incarnate by the Nubmers (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=574633) thread. ;)

They are slightly more effective than a Paladin. However far less so than the classes like Favored Soul that have access to the Heal spell. At most levels they will be UMD wand healers with a bit of stuff that they can do on their own.

A Cleric / Incarnate or a Cleric / Incarnate / Sapphire Hierarch could be a powerful healer as the MoI stuff can make the cleric’s healing spells more effective.

I think that the clerics healing domain is all u will ever need and u can pretty much heal on the fly.
