Often people refer to the commonly considered order of core classes by overall power (i.e. the one with cleric/druid as best and fighter as worst), and I'd like to take a look at that list. I'd be much obliged if someone could supply it or link to it.

Do you mean over the entire range of levels?
For both taking damage and dealing it?
Flexibility?
Soloing?
Saves?

06-26-07, 07:05 PM It was generally thought that the cleric was extremely powerful. Especially for soloing. Or as a group consisting entirely of that one class.

Now with PrC's there is a lot more contention about what makes the best character.

Master of Many Forms is a great way to make a Druid extremely powerful. Plus you have spells (with the right feat, always usable) and an animal companion. That's a pretty nice suite of powers, especially when taking flexibility into your calculation.

But if you are just taking raw damaging power to a group of monsters: nothing beats high level arcane spells that are boosted with meta-magic feats.

I think all of the above. Several people have mentioned a general consensus over the core classes in order of overall power, i.e. Cleric/Druid as strongest down to Monk and then Fighter as weakest.
