Heya guys, I've got a few new class ideas for future adaption on the d&d based system. I'd like some feedback and or random thougths.

First off, intrensic to any fantasy setting you have a magical aspect, this aspect is represent by the playable classes(mainly anyway) the sorceror and the wizard. The wizard utillizes magic from a well-trained and years of knowledge stand point harboring a wide array of abillities and applications. The Sorceror uses a inaite abillity and dedication approach with a smaller array of powers but able to use them more often.

Now from a sci-fi or future setting that focuses more on tech than magic these classes don't quite fit in. Therby an alternative must be found. Now to fill the void of wizard, I have devised the substitution of an Engenier. A well versed and capable adept of technology with the required need or referance material and time to prepare daily for his marvels. For the replacement of the sorceror I have decided a technician will fit the bill, a class better suited to the the day to day repair and maintance of technology and it's more mundane applications so to sepak. Perhaps the Eng. will be more adept at the advanced applications and complex uses of tech, but the technician hiomself will be better suited to get jobs done quick and efficiently in the absence of the Eng. I've been considering abillities where the technician can patch and jury rig systems and gear, provide minor alterations and such for short term durrations etc. More than likely the Technician will be capable of some of the eng. abillities as he advances, but I'm still unsure.

Then I began the task of adapting the cleric, and paladin, in a world where religion and magic aren't paramount I've come to the conclusion healing and dedication still are. So the role of a combat medic or field surgeon could suit for a cleric and the paladin can mold into a dedicated follower or supporter of a faction or political movement. Thereby allowing them to still sort of fill the same niche somewhat.

What of the druid though? This nature based element of a character group doesn't seem to fit very well for a space setting as far as I can see. So I have been considering the applications of revising the druid into more of a genetic or mutated character type something liken to a shifter from ebberon on a genetics or mutated level. That way they can retain some beastial elements but do so with less tree-hugging sentiments... Still a little unsure on this one.

The ranger I have toyed with re-tooling as a sort of space wandering tracker of sorts at home on almost anyworld and prefering to roam as he/she chooses.

The Fighter and roque I will probably leave as is, as well as the barbarian. The Bard will need retooling into a bit of a nomad or all out star-wandering vagabond. He will be able to gather various data and live by his wits, he may even be adept at subterfuge and laying low...

I haven't set anything in stone as yet or began the in-depth stat/rule creations.. Any thoughts?

For a bit of an idea on the type of setting this is feel free to check out the current data I have up on my site. Hopefully I'll be able to update it more thoroughly soon.
