I'm in a local campaign that started at 1st, so far everyone is at 3rd... except me, because i missed one day, no experience... either way, yadda yadda...

he has this item called "world stones" they provide a +2 inherent temp bonus to a stat or ability and their rarity is 1 in 100 or 1% to find one in an isolated area.

Anywho, since im the only character with a deity that I worship, im a paladin, just turned 2nd level btw. I can sacrafice one of these stones for 1500 xp... seems kinda steep n all, but this is like a high powered campaign i guess. Well either way, I was aiming towards a mounted pally kinda, any suggestions at all? I was thinkin about going cavalier when i get the prereq's think its 8th lv i believe for the skills needed?

if you want a mount get one from Arms and Equipment guide forget the pally mount insteed take the Varent rile out of PHB 2 when your level 5 (Chargeing Smite) Its great

please tell me your charsima is beefy and your not one of thouse low charisma type paladins (Lower then 16 at level 1) upgrade it like mad and just keep upgradeing it

then become a Gray Guard it will have its class abilitys stack with your paladin levels and you'll gain other nice benefits like being able to somewhat ignore your CoC and being able to harm evil types with them saying no if and or butts about it

if you dont have these books then what you do is up to you but if you do have or have acess to these books or are able to use them then i suggest you do

Paladins Mount suck compared to the ones you can get in Arms and Equipment guide (Get a Griffion or something eles on thouse lines and upgrade it with items or w/e) make sure your Charisma is HIGH later on in the game you would be happy

you can have level 9 paladins be able to heal for 90 points more then likly not but it can and has happined

more then likely though you might be only healing/damageing (If Gray Guard you can do both) for 70 or more points at that level

Chargeing smite is GOOD becouse you deal n extra 2 points of damage per paladin/Gray guard level you have on a chargeing smite attack and plus if your smite misses on a charge IT IS NOT WASTED and this is BONUS to the normol Smite damage you can deal

Great if your going to get a Mount in Arms and Equipment Guild so you can charge past with lance and do chargeing smite for alot of damage dealing

but it depends on the books open to you and many DM dont like how Gray guard are played or Paladins so make sure its ok with them they all say differnt things but in my games and the games i play i make it a point where my Paladin/Gray guard is my character and my party loves the things i end up doing with him later on in the game

im aiming for a mounted pally in general, the gray guard wouldnt be too bad for a melee person, but im building mine as a ranged mounted pally, with a lance of course ^_^.
