| Archmagi197603-31-06, 04:29 PM | With a cleric in the party able to make magical items, I find the use of spell trigger items goes up considerably and that can have a damaging affect on things. A monk with a spell triggered vest of cure moderate wounds could possibly become a DM's nightmare. Not to mention other spell trigger healing items. Set it at the right triggers and you could practicly have enough trigger items to ward off any true problems. Is this over powered or am I seeing things wrong and please state why... I am interested in everyone's point of view on this. |

In order to even use the item, the character must have the spell on his class spell list. This means for someone to use a vest of say... Cure Light Wounds, the character must have at least 1 level in either Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, or Ranger (or emulate such via UMD). Also, activating said item takes a standard action, and spell trigger items have a limited number of charges (such as a wand, which has 50 when newly created). It would be no different than giving any character a wand of CLW, except in stead of being a slotless item that needs to be wielded in the hand, it is now taking up the vest slot on the individual's body. |
