alright, could anybody help me with what a good class for a warforged would be? the party isn't really "established" yet as we're still in character creation, so it could pretty much be anything

well I'd sugest go for a melee class (maybe ToB if you have acces to it)

or a wizard no one expects a warforged wizard

don't be any Ch based class because you'll regret itor maybe not

Warforged have racial subsitution levels found in Races of eberron for fighter, paliden, and artifacer. There are also PRC in there for a more "alive" warforged or a warrior with acess to varus magical runes. There is a warforged PRC for a druid found in (the one book about the X named place, cant think of it of the top of my head). There is also the warforged juggernaut that makes a warforged into a master charger and more construct type founf in ECS.

Now being as you dont need to sleep if you choose a class that dosent need sleep or rest to prepare spells/abilities you can serve as the parties guard at night time. Becuse of this you might choose scout or rogue.

Or inversly you can go with the far out concept. In eberron you could be a member of the blood of vol. Or you could be a caster and take levels in bloodwalker. You could also choose to go in soulmelding (magic of incarnum) and from a flavor perspective you are a construct with power over soulstuff, bringing up ethical and philosophical debates in others that think to much...

Can barbarians rage in heavy armor?
(Yes composite armor count as nothing, mithral as light.. but only adamantite gives DR and it is heavy)

this might be better on charop but a warforged artificer can be near unstoppable with wands of serious repair in their arms and some nice persistant buffing nearly unstoppable.
