Black Flame Zealot continues existing divine spellcasting, making it an unlikely choice for an Assassin. Teflammar Shadowlord gets Death Attack at level 6, so you have to take all 6 levels if you want to stack Teflammar Shadowlord levels with Assassin levels for Death Attack. The Shadowlord's abilities work rather well with the Assassin's. Shadowlords get a decent selection of spells, which they cast as a Wizard, and they get many special abilities that free up Assassin spells known for other choices. Unfortunately, the prerequisites for the Shadowlord are pretty steep and force you to choose one fourth-level Assassin spell that ends up being fairly redundant as a limited form of it is available as a class ability and it is available as a spell for Shadowlords. |
