| Screams_of_the_Oak04-23-07, 12:50 AM | Besides a monk, are there any other classes, feats, prestige classes, items, that allow one to increase their speed? It seems that the only way to go at low levels to increase speed is to dip into monk levels. This is especially difficult if one wishes to build a character based around a reach weapon. Thanks for the help! :D |
| Kouk04-23-07, 01:09 AM | Barbarians have Fast Movement too. There is a feat called Dash that is +5 feet. There are the Boots of Springing and Striding that give you +10 feet in v.3.5 |
| Shadowhowler04-23-07, 01:26 AM | Scouts (From Complete Adventurer) also gain movement enhancements... more then a Barbarian, less then a Monk. I'm sure there are others, but it's not something I have looked for myself, so it's not coming to mind right now. |
| Marcus Majarra04-23-07, 02:51 AM | Speed of Thought also increases speed by 10 feet, as long as the character is psionically focused. |
| kalstrand04-23-07, 10:51 PM | Dervish increases speed as well. |
| Dead_Weasel04-23-07, 11:22 PM | Swiftblade increases your speed too. |
| Dazzer04-23-07, 11:28 PM | Scout, Barbarian, Monk, Swiftblade, Variant Non-Spellcasting Ranger (CW), Variant Druid without Wildshape (as per monk) (UA), High Level spellcasters, The tome of battle classes can have stances that improved their speed sometimes (warblade, swordsage, crusader). Although I think swordsage is the most likely to get those speed enhancing ones. Dash Feat (I think it can be taken multiple times), Run Feat, "Improved Speed" (draconomicon) *monstrous feat, Boots of Springing and Striding (DMG), Stormstrider Boots (CM), There are probably a few items in the magic item compendium (I have it, but so many items I can't usually remember them all). Many Spells can help Hope I helped |
| Pangeon04-23-07, 11:46 PM | Just keep in mind what kind of bonuses you're getting. For example, barbarian movement is untyped, and stacks with everything. Monk, scout, and boots of striding and springing all give enhancement bonuses. No stack-y for you! Speed of thought gives an insight bonus. Celerity domain gives an untyped bonus. The Quick trait and Dash feat give untyped bonuses. Xeph's "burst" ability gives a competence bonus. And some races just start with ungodly speed. My favorite is the Varag. (From MMIV.) |
| Shadowhowler04-23-07, 11:52 PM | Scout, Barbarian, Monk, Swiftblade, Variant Non-Spellcasting Ranger (CW), Variant Druid without Wildshape (as per monk) (UA), High Level spellcasters, I think the Ranger Variant you mention above is also from UA, Not CW... I KNOW it's in the UA, I just don't know if it's also in the CW. :) |
| Pangeon04-24-07, 12:16 AM | I think the Ranger Variant you mention above is also from UA, Not CW... I KNOW it's in the UA, I just don't know if it's also in the CW. :) Non-Spellcasting Ranger from CW gets +10 movement at 6th level. But you're right, there's also one in UA that get's barbarian fast movement in addition to a limited Wild Shape. |
