Hi, I just recently started playing D&D 3.5 and have gotten most of the rules down pretty good. Could someone please explain how the table in the PHB (Classes---->Clerics) works. I'm currently at work so I don't access to the book. Its the table that has how many spells/bonus spells clerics learn per level. I'm not understanding the 1+1, 2+1, 3+1 as you advance per level. Also in the Cleric diety spells section in the back of the book. For instance, under Good (Healing) what does the 1. , 2. , 3. etc.. mean? Sorry if this post doesn't make that much sense but I'm having alot of problems with this. It would be great if I could have a little help here. Thanks in advance.

example of 2+1: the 2 refers to two spells you prepare normally every day. Add your bonus spells from your wisdom score to this total. the +1 refers to your daily domain spell. Look under the description of your deity in Chapter 6 for the deity's domains. You prepare one additional spell from the list of your deity's domains. For instance, if you serve Heironeous, your domains are Good, Law, and War. For each spell level you have access to, you choose one spell from one of these domains to prepare every day, in addition to your normal slate. If you have 3rd level spell access, you can prepare a Good 1 spell, a War 2 spell, and a War 3 spell, or any combination of your deity's domain spells (one per level) in addition to the usual run of spells.

Some spells are exclusively domain spells and not on the general list. So, if a general list spell is a domain spell for you, and you would choose it over your other domain spells for that level, prepare it as such, and do not use it in your flexible spell slots.

one quick thing that was forgotten.

You can only have 2 domains to start. So your god may have 3 or 4 domains, but you have to pick 2 of those and never change them.

So that +1 spell you have, you put a spell from one of your two domains in there.
