Anyone that can list the various Dieties that have the longbow as a favored weapon?

That and to narrow it down more those that might allow the War Domain
And further more the Good or Healing Domain.

Is there any?

I have been looking but this combo seems to be missing.

Anyone?

Sorry, not that I know of. Corellon Larethian has longbow favored, but no war domain. And only Pelor has the healing domain. I think maybe Ehlonna has longbow as well, but no war.

To get one with the Longbow as a favored weapon, you are probably looking at ones with Elven worshipers so you can only be an Elven cleric, at which point you already have a longbow proficiency. Also, there is one Faerunian Elven sub-deity with War domain and Longbow favored weapon.

I was hoping to hang with human to get the 3 feats. But I guess I can hold off.
Power shot and precisce shot
Taking Zen at 3rd and trying to catch up later on with clerical feats from that point.

I don't want to just be a archer, a cleric is a cleric , and they basically need to be healing but I want to also do some damage without using spell slots just ammo.

From Living Greyhawk, Mayaheine, Phaulkon, and Solonor Thelandira.

Shevarash appears to be an elven god with the war domain and the longbow as a favored weapon. But you still need to be an elf. He's Faerunian, but can be easily adapted to any setting that can accommodate a grumpy elf who wants to destroy a particular evil race.

Pick up Point Blank Shot first level. But aren't most healing spells touch? If so, a vigor and some buffs should reduce the need to get in the middle of combat.

What books do you have access to?

In Eberron, the Silver Flame - Knights Militant sect also has the war domain and the longbow as a favored weapon.

Yes just found the 2 lesser dieties. Shevarash and Solonor Thelandira. Both have Longbow as a favored weapon.
Both have access to War Chaos Elf Domains with Shevarash having Retribution.
And Solonor Thelandira having access to Plant.

The Elf domain gives Point blank shot as a free feat so that is a nice boon. But the other level benifets of Elf are kinda Blah. Got to think on that one.

Plant tends towards evil
Retributuon looks very interesting.
Hate to give up the point blank shot freebie though

I like the Shevakash's hatred towards Drow. Was now thinking of making a Half-Drow character because of just this.

Thanks for all the help.

If you have any idead on a build please reply
Right now i'm looking at a level 2 start with a 28 pt buy:
Level 1 Cleric
Level 2 Cleric

Str: 14
Dex: 10
Con: 13
Int: 10
Wis 17
Cha:8

Looking at the 2 feats as Precise shot and What?

Anything interesting?

Wait, dumping cha as a CLERIC? And not dumping str as much as con as an archer?

You need Zen Archery. Since you need three feats @ level 1, you will need the elf domain to get PBS, and a flaw to get Zen Archery (provided you meet the prereqs: can't remember off-hand).

Yeah I just realized as a Half Drow I lose a lot, getting only 1 feat and if I go Retribution which looks really cool I lose the point Blank Shot Ugg:(

The campagine will not use flaws :weep:

So. do I just play what I want to RP and take the time to get where I want or do I maximize and play a Human that I guess I could just play like the Half- Drow
dman11235

03-05-08, 08:55 PM
Well, you will not have a decent attack bonus without Zen Archery. Also, if you want, you could completely dump dex. It's only neede for initiative and AC. And I made a character with 6 dex and +10 initiative (imp init+the weapon things).

Huh?
STrR is for doing higher damage with a +2 str Longbow when higher level.
Con, well I guess I could drop that in favor of? Cha why?
Don't I need Dex to hit with a ranged heal spell or is that just assumed?
Wouldn't it be good for me to have Initiative so I can either shoot first ask questions later or delay , JIC someone gets critted?

And why would I need Cha? Is it that important? If so then what would be a good ability mix.

Zen Archery requires a BAB of 1. Not an option for first level clerics

Charisma for turning, for divine feats. If you don't plan on using divine feats, then go ahead and dump cha.

Zen Archery lets you use wisdom for all ranged attacks iirc.

And yes, initiative is good, but a -1 can be compensated for so easily with small weapon bonuses and Imp Init. That's why I said that i got the +10 init with a -2 dex.

Strength is good for damage, but you might need those stat points elsewhere. Str is a secondary stat for archers, with wis and con being primary. If you're set for skills and don't need more int, put a 17 in wis, 12 in str, 15 in con, 10 in int, 8 in cha, and 8 in dex. You have 1 point to put in int, cha, dex, or str. With only a 16 in wis you can have 16 con and 14 str.

Dex 8
Con 16
Int 8
Wis 16
Cha 10

Man I hate no darkvision especially the Half-Drow 120 ft. and could have used a Drow device hehe

Feats as a Human:

Zen Archery and Precise Shot and Point Blank Shot
Domains
War for the Weapon Focus and Retribution

Or the Half-Drow
Gain the Darkvision 120 ft
Imunities from elf race and
ability to use any item keyed towards a Drow

Same stats just one less feat ,Lose the Point Blank Shot ( comes back from Elf Domain ) figure drop Precise Shot? pick that up at 3rd?

Domains War and Elf ( Point Blank Shot).

Human or Half-Drow?

How are your getting three feats?

Human with the elf domain, unless you have flaws.

EDIT: Also, why the 10 in cha? Why not int? Or dex? If you aren't going to use divine feats, you might as well dump cha completely.

hehe your right 2 feats as a human.

Point Blank and Zen Archery

As for Cha, won't I be using turning of some sort? figured i'd take out the neg 1 , Int is for skills, I dont see a need for skills other then Concentration and Heal?

Dex you said forget it and get imp init if I want it.

As you can see I'm kinda new to this clerical thing and I do want to do some damage.
dman11235

Turning undead is not worth it at later levels, and int is useful for skills such as concentration, knowledge, spot (you're an archer), and some in heal (four or five: augment healing requires four).

See, you either want some charisma or no charisma, as the points could be put to better use else where. Dex you don't need at all, but it's a better investment than charisma. Int is probably better still since it gets you skill points. And you'll want to only advance strength with enhancement bonuses, and wisdom will get the level bonuses and tomes and enhancement, and con will get enhancement bonuses and possibly tomes (if you can spare the money). No other stat is needed at all, though eventually you might as well give yourself an enhancement to dex (AC and initiative).

Ok sounds good.

one last thing I hope

Do I or will I be doing range heals? or are all strictly touch.
If range then will I need to hit the player via a rangeed attack or will that still use my wisdom as the modifier?
dman11235

03-05-08, 11:30 PM
All are touch, unless they say otherwise. All cures are touch range. And all mass don't need an attack roll. And even the one(s) that are ranged touch don't need you to roll to hit an ally, and even if you did need to, you'd use wisdom due to Zen Archery (iirc, zen archery applies to all ranged attack rolls).

Didn't he say he doesn't want to be an archer just have a good ranged weapon. Do what I'm doing and play a Gray Orc cleric. They get longbow and great axe as a free feats, so you can do some damage without spells :D

Hmm, nevermind, dman, contrary to what he said earlier it looks like he does want to be an archer. :P

Do you really wanna be using your feat slots on archery as a cleric though? Those scores could be better. Two getting you a negative, and one getting you nuthin' ain't too good. You are always gonna be falling off ledges and horses if you ever need to ride one, and your knowledges and social skills are gonna suck.

I wished clerics got 4 skill points.

Back in the day it was the wizards and priests getting the most proficiencies.

I had a similar problem with my orc -- none of their frigging deities have axes as favorite weapons, which is rubbish. Their war god has a longsword. He must secretly conspire with the elves.

In response I went Feral Half-Drow
Feral grants str +4, Dex-2 , Con +2, Int-4, Wis +2. 10ft more speed , natural armor +6, HP based on D10, 2 claw attacks, Fast Healing, Imp Grab all for LA 1.
Half-Drow gives the Darkvision 120ft
Low Light Vision
Elven imunities
And I can use items keyed towards Drow

Str: 14 +2
Dex: 12 +1
Con: 16 +3
Int: 8 -1
Wis: 18 +4
Cha: 8 -1

Domains are War for Martial Weapon Prof. (Prefered weapon Longbow as per my Diety Shevarash) and Weapon Focus ( Gives +1 on the Longbow ).

Feat is Precise Shot for the accuracy

Skills points go into Heal and Concentration and Know Religion couple other places I have no clue on.

Spells are typical cleric healer.

Now My new questions are:
1. I am Monsterous Humanoid now.. What does that add that a normal human size did not have.
2. I have claws now instead of hands. Does that make any difference in how good I would be with a bow? I have not seen anything on that anywhere. I am getting 1d8 damage from the claws on attacks.

I know I am crazy here but you all know it is just a game and I doubt I will ever be optomized.

Skill points? What skill points?? :D

For your intelligence you get 4 at first level and 1 at each level after that.

Have fun with that :D

At least your wisdom is good enough that you'll have decent check modifiers in a fair amount of skills.
