I'm constructing a Human Cleric (level7) with the War Domain and Time Domain. He's come from the War Colleges of the the Red Knight and is a battle strategy fanatic.
my current Feat selection is..
H: Dodge
L1: Mobility
L3: ?
L6: Spring Attack.
plus Weapon Focus Longsword and Improved Initiative from his Domains.

I don't really know what to take at L3 ? One option I was looking at was Combat Reflexes but then I thought that if I'm nipping in and out of Combat with Spring Attack then I'm probably not going to get to use it that often! At L9 I want to take Leadership

(Str 16, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 8, Wis 14, Cha 10)

Any ideas?

Skill Focus: COncentration, to help cast on the defensive.

What about Sheild Specialization, from CW (I believe)? If you're going to be a punk melee cleric, you might as well do it right, right? :P

Another option would be Extend Spell or similar meta-magic, to keep those personal range buffs up and active. By the same token, combat casting could help you actually cast spells in melee.

I think I'd like to go along the lines of Buff, and then Spring in and out of combat.
I really don't like pumping Concentration because with limited skill points (I appreciate that is par for the course with clerics, being a MAD class) as it leave you with next to nothing.
I have put ranks in Diplomacy (to allow the enemy a chance to see the light and join the Red Fellowship!) and Knowl. Religion (to show his teaching within the Fellowship)

I'm liking Extend spell though!

Extend spell fits into the build nicely. If your Spring attacking you shouldn't really need to cast to much in melee as you can get in, strike and get out so I wouldn't be too worried about concentration(for the most part).

How about Divine Might?
Use some of those daily Turn Attempts and turn them into more combat output.

How about Power Attack?
Longswords can be 1-handed or 2-handed.

Other than that, yeah Extend Spell is okay too.

I was going to suggest Divine Might until I saw his charisma was a 10. Alot of the "Divine X" feats work off charisma.

If you're sure about Dodge and Mobility, you may as well get Elusive Target (CW).
Really, you should get a higher charisma...
Overall, I would suggest straying from the melee build and concentrate on battlefield control spells.
I'd also suggest a higher int... you're only going to have 2 skill points/level, which will probably go into concentration + knowledge(religion)... leaving no room for diplomacy or spellcraft. Unless you care not for skills at all, which is just fine.

I really can't say much else unless you're looking to optimize the build, and even then this thread would be more at home at the CO boards.

Please refer to my reply above explaining my feelings regarding Concentration and also my original post that asks for a Feat in the L3 slot. Elusive Target is L6 and that has gone to Spring Attack !
Clerics are a MAD class and I'm building a Combat Cleric. I need Str, Dex (medium armour for spring attack), Con and Wis so Int and Cha have to take a back seat.

why did'nt you have your cleric a dwarf cleric............cause seriusly if your gona be a mele-I'm the fighter cleric........then a dwarf is better then human(except for the extra feat) and you could have a heavy armor:D

A feat that you might want to consider is Divine Vigor (Complete Warrior). It grants you temporary HP and increases your movement rate, which synergizes nicely with Spring Attack.

Yeah, I like the Feat but it only lasts a number of rounds equal to my Cha mod of 0 !

Nice idea but its a very low Magic item game so getting to Int 13 from 8 is going to be a problem!

it lasts a number of MINUTES equal to your Cha mod.

It should last at least 1 min. If it doesn't say that convince your DM that it should say that.
