Sorry if this belongs more to the Spells forum than this one, but here goes.

Using 3.0 rules only, because I don't have 3.5 books:

A cleric of Wee Jas can choose the magic domain and thus can cast arcane spells from scrolls. Is the cleric subject to arcane spell failure when casting from arcane scrolls? I'd say yes, because they're still arcane scrolls; but it's a god-given domain power. Is their ability to cast from scrolls divine, or is it arcane?

I'll be very interested to know, since I think the party cleric of Wee Jas and party sorceror are going to wind up getting nasty with each other over dividing up the arcane scrolls if I can't figure out whether or not the cleric has arcane spell failure.

(I'm sort of the unofficial divider of loot, and up until this new cleric of Wee Jas joined the party, I automatically doled out all arcane things to the only arcane caster in the party.) Please advise and help me avoid party strife :-)

This is opinion only. But, I believe it is correct.

It is a divine spell that a cleric casts, whether it is granted from their god or cast from a scroll. A cleric with Magic Domain does not cast arcane magic. To reflect their non-arcane nature, any wizard items used will operate only at half their current cleric level.

So, to answer your question directly, your cleric should be fine to cast in his/her armor as it is a divine spell.

Somethng you have to consider is that the scroll only has a verbal component, so is not subject to arcane spell failure anyway. I had a wizard/fighter that liked to used scrolls in combat because of this

Yep, a even a wizard doesn't suffer armor spell failure when using scrolls.
