NerdCoreRocks 09-30-06, 06:14 PM	What is the point for Deities to have a favored weapon (especial martial ones), if they don't include the War domain as one of their domains. A cleric will never get any benefits for using this weapon or specifically taking a martial proficiency feat for this weapon. Is it just for flavor?

Not everybody who worships a deity is a cleric, though. A fighter who worships Kord is more likely to use a greatsword than one who follows Cuthbert, for example. But yes, flavor goes with it as well.

fatal error 09-30-06, 06:43 PM	Spiritual Weapon, Weapon of the Deity (Complete Divine), which creates a +1 XYZ version of your deity's favored weapon (the special is also predetermined by your deity). Also, it is a semi-common houserule to give clerics automatic proficiency with their deity's favored weapon.

ninjarabbit 09-30-06, 07:05 PM	It's just a point of pride that's all. You don't have to spend the feat to be proficient with the weapon, you can just suck up the -4 penalty to use the weapon
