A cleric has 3 + cha mod turns per day ...

I have a cleric with 5 charisma (he was a fighter first), with the modifier being (-3) does that make my turns per day 0?

Is there anything that says only positive modifiers are applied?

Looks like you're not turning any undead in the near future ..

No, the tuns per day can't drop below 1. No roll can ever drop below one so you get on turn a day untill you can over come that-3.

Show the rules quote for that ...

For this one .. it doesn't say it can't drop to 0 ... so I'd say it does .. quite simple .. you have 0 turn attempts ... so you can't turn ..

Same as if you had 2 turn attempts but already used 2 .. how many you got? 0 ...

By your interpretation, it might be tempting for people (stupid - but tempting  ) to say: Hey, I've got 2 turn attempts per day, I've used 2 ... so I still have 1 left .. :uh-huh:

I don't know any rule that prevents this one from dropping to 0 ..
(not saying there isn't one .. just saying I don't know about it .. )

Nothing can ever drop below a 1. WHenever roll for something or anything like that, even with the modifires, it will never drop below one. I don't have any material on me but i'm pretty sure that this rule also applies to the turn per day.

Who's rolling??

There's nothing being rolled here ... any rules pertaining to rolling do not apply to this situation ..

Just to clarify: we are not talking the d20 roll to attempt to turn undead .. we're talking the base number of turn attempts per day ..

My charater rolled off a cliff. His HP certainly dropped below 0

You will have 0 turn attempts per day. However, all is not lost. You can take the Extra Turning feat that will give you 4 extra turning attempts per day. Since you originally have 0 attempts, you now have 4.

Thanks for the answers.

Guess I'll have to deal with undead the old fashioned way ... hack and slash or run away.
