I don't know what to choose, I want to summon the dead and beat up the good guys that stand in my way, but I dont know what to do, they're both pretty good. I like specialization of Dread Necromancer, sit back and use familiar to inflict and cause terror while your summoned undead and animated undead kills whatever. After the fight you use your touch to heal yourself (tomb tainted soul). I know "clerics are overpowered," so I don't need told about divine metamagic and all that. :D I figure I can get some good magical weapons and armor and be able to run up front line along with my undead and destroy my enemies. Desecrate, build an altar, and then summon new buffed undead. With dread necromancer I feel he isn't as good as cleric, but I feel like I'll be able to do too much with cleric and I will be jack of all trades, master of none. With cleric I don't feel like buffing myself all the time, which can be a problem. |

But to me a Dread Necro fits the role better. I happen to love that class because without the leadership feat you can't get any army of undead like a Dread. By lvl9 with Fell Animate(I think it was called that) everything you kill comes back under your control. Oh I need a tank kill a gaint outfit him ok lets go. Just seems more fun. |

I know of a feat that makes created undead explode when "killed" but i'm not sure of the book (Complete Divine or Libris Mortis.) maybe the True Necromancer Prc from LM will do it for you. 14 lvl class, you get lots* of stronger undead and wail of the banshee as a spell like ability. also Arcane and divine casting progression. check it out. * i might be mistaken about that |
