| Whisper_Swiftblade10-12-06, 10:34 PM | if we started a cleric and a druid at lv1 and duled them at every 5 lvs who would win each duel? im thinking 1 cleric 5 druid 10 druid 15 tie 20 cleric what are your thoughts? |
| AZNsupermarket10-12-06, 10:51 PM | pre- or post- wildshape errata? |
| Knute10-12-06, 10:52 PM | Would the cleric be able to command armies of the undead? Would the cleric be able to seek divine mojo specifically to defeat the rascally Druid? Could the Druid arrange for all his squirrel buddies to help? K |

Could the Druid arrange for all his squirrel buddies to help? K I should have been more clear. let's assume that the two of them where un-aware that they would be fighting one another that day every time that they fought, and where positioned in a setting that in no way strongly favored or dissfavored either of them. |
| Whisper_Swiftblade10-12-06, 10:59 PM | pre- or post- wildshape errata? post I guess, what exactly did the errata change? |
| ninjarabbit10-12-06, 11:15 PM | I would have to vote for cleric if he was allowed to have his persisted buffs up, his undead army (and the druid can have his animal companion) with him since it is reasonable to assume they'd be around him if this is a chance encounter and the two met in the middle of nowhere, and if he was using divinations to see the future and thus be prepared. |
| Votan10-12-06, 11:18 PM | post I guess, what exactly did the errata change? It made magical items much harder to use in wildshape (need to be separately put on post shapeshift) and made wildshape can shifts no longer alter Druid hit points. This weakens the ability of the Druid to act as a melee combatant by changing forms. |
| AZNsupermarket10-12-06, 11:31 PM | the errata is also very recent and de-powers the druid signifcantly They also retain their own type and sub-type now (no more animal growth cheese) How much prep-time is allotted for the fight? |

| AZNsupermarket10-13-06, 12:01 AM | my money would be on the druid from level 5 on. This would be a lot easier if was pre-erratta because druids owned ridiculously badly back then. |
| JulesCARV10-13-06, 12:44 AM | I think that a druid would beat a cleric at level 1, if she picks a good animal companion. At level 1, a druid's animal companion is pulling more of the weight than the druid in combat, probably. |

True, but at higher levels a neutral or evil cleric will have some very deadly undead minions that won't be easy for a Druid to handle. Buff time goes both ways but tends to benefit a high level cleric the most (shapechange is the best buff but it is a single round action). Do note, in real circumstances, that the Druid has spot which might influence who gets surprise. |
