I understand that domains must come from the deity's list of domains and the PC can be no more than 1 alignment step from their deity. When a player has no Deity their domains can be no more than 1 alignment step from their alignment. How does one role play a cleric with no deity? |

The rest is pretty much the same, except where it used to say "deity" it now says "ideal". The Cleric works to further the ideal he's devoted to (rather than the agenda of the deity he's devoted to), drawing his power from his absolute faith in the ideal. Keep in mind the domains must reflect his spiritual inclinations, not his worldly ones. Picking something like War and Destruction for example, so you can go on a roleplayless rampage without violating ethos doesn't work, you are expected to truly believe in war and destruction and behave appropriately. Other than that, the player can roleplay his Cleric however he wants, just like if he were devoted to a deity instead of an ideal. Have fun. |
