| Rico_Huerta02-18-08, 04:51 PM | I am playing a 3rd level Cleric of Hextor, War and destruction domains, and was wondering if it would be worthwhile to dip into the Pious templar PrC. It has great BAB, allows for more smiting(adds with Destruction domain and gives more times per day), gives a ltittle DR, then Weapon Specialization, and maybe afew extra feats if I stay long enough...So what is the general thoughts of Pious templar compared to just staying pure Cleric? |

PT doesn't advance you cleric spellcasting and that's much more powerful than weapon specialization or anything else you get from PT. If you want more smiting take the extra smiting feat and if you're that worried about BAB make sure you prepare the divine power spell multiple times. |

It's a nice PrC, but not much good for clerics. The cleric spell list more than makes up for a what you'd normally get. If you want full BAB, the CDiv Hospitaller may be a better fit - though for the life of me I think they should have made it for good, rather than lawful, characters. |
