Attn all:

Due to recent events, of which I cannot elaborate, Caterane and Jindl are temporarily stepping down from GM Status. They will be made council members and will have as much interaction as they wish with the Core Coliseum. Please note that this decision has been a long time in the making and I believe it's for the best for the future of the CoCo.

I foresee things to continue as normal as possible until Tellish returns (minimum) and everything is sorted out. I am making myself available to help out with the CoCo as needed (for pairings, or whatnot) so please PM, or email ( shadow at wizo.wizards.com ) with what you need even if it's to tell me how you feel about this decision. I understand that many will be upset about this but please do remember I do want this board to survive this temporary re-arrangement so please keep that in mind when writing me.

While this might come as a minor setback, that's just it, minor. The key to focus on is in red in the above quote. They’ll be back…

I would like to comment on the behalf of both Jindl and Caterane, as they have both been very helpful to me since I have joined the CoCo. Many people have helped me, but they have always done so in a ‘nurturing’ way, if you will.

I am very new here, and of the month I have been a part of the CoCo, it is readily apparent that they put a great deal of effort towards the success of the CoCo. Not all of us have the time and patience to put up with all the menial tasks that are required of the GMs. To this end, I would like to say Thank You Caterane and Jindl, while you will be missed; I await your return, as members now… and as GMs soon.

I am sure that the circumstances regarding this matter are of importance, or else it would not have occurred. Everyone has his or her differences, and it is important to take a break once in a while from something that you are passionate about, as it allows a weathered soul to refresh and begin anew.

During the interim I would like to offer my help where needed. Not to replace them, but to honor them…

Sincerely,

I do ask of you, CoCo members, that you keep ease of mind. This is just a temporary situation and will be resolved. Pairings are going to continue just as usual, monday 9pm deadline and fights are to be delivered monday night. So no bending on the rules ;). I am helping WizO_Shadow run the show per her request, do send her your concerns and character/pitlording status (as you would the Pitlords account) by E-Mail.

Let this be an obstacle we are willing to defeat.

It's becoming apparent that there are some common questions being raised that I will now answer to everyone:

I want the CoCo to stay here as a wonderfully functioning board that's a fun place to be.

I am stepping in to cover GM duties but I'm not trying to act or be a replacement for Caterane or Jindl.

So what am I doing? Trying to help get this board back in order and functioning well to where there aren't regulars stepping down from PitLording and/or leaving in droves. After reading and watching for months, a shake-up is the only way it's happening. I highly beg of you to talk to me about the CoCo. Tell me what you think. What needs to happen? Even if you think it sounds petty or whiney, I need to hear it please!!

Wow, that's almost enough to make me want to start playing again.

I concure freemody... Had I enough time I'd jump back now.

Well... I have to admit this is a failure of mine. I tried to design the CoCo with such changes in mind. I knew no one could survive the work required for gming long, and I hoped the system allowed people to take over such role. Well, I believe that with some tweaks it can work this way.

So DR you provide the man-hours now. I say, if you find a better way to deal with management-changes, we're all here to hear.

Shadow... For yet another time... Thanks!

Ok. Changes goes as follows. It was a hard, an extremely hard decision, and the decision was based on feedback and hours of reading posts.

ToK is being removed due to LOA for personal reasons.
Jindl is staying a CoCo Elder or as Jindl wishes.
Caterane is being re-instated as a GM.
Ashenai is being promoted to a GM.

I want it noted that recently the activity level of participation and friendliness is *wonderful* and I hope to see more of it. I'm rather excited to see how the CoCo is going to be with the changes this holiday season in the proposals of character wipes and other setting ideas in the works. If you have any questions or comments I'm available by PM and by email shadow@wizo.nospam.wizards.com (remove nospam. ).

I'm... um... not sure what to say. A big thank you to Shadow for... everything. I'll do everything in my power to be worthy.

I've always tried to do my best to help the CoCo; having been entrusted with the tools to do that better is immensely gratifying.

With the help of all you guys, I think we can make Gladius a lot more fun and interesting. :)
