From the arena rules...

Crafting items: the cost for self done magic items is as core rules: 1/2 the market price. The cost and time constraints are simulated applying the additional cost of 5 gp/xp. Normally, things with no additional xp cost will thus cost (1/2+5/25)= 7/10 the market cost.
The cost for crafting stuff with skills is 1/2 the market price, to represent the time constraint.

Is that to say then that magic items are 1/2 the cost if you make them yourself? Or is that to say that magic items cost 1/2+5gp/xp to produce the item?

Also, how did everyone come to the (1/2+5/25) cost for stuff with no xp cost?

This question is better suited to the Tavern, as opposed to its own thread.

The answer is:

1. Magic items are crafted at 7/10 market value in gp, with no cost in xp, and with unlimited time between fights, time to create is no issue.

2. Non-magic items are crafted at 5/10 market value, with unlimited time between fights, time to craft is no issue.

You must personally meet all prereqs to craft any item (magic or otherwise). You may not enlist help in any form from another PC or NPC (including cohorts) in crafting items.
