| Caterane03-07-06, 07:14 AM | This is a poll for CoCo Elders only! The current Elders are Luni, LLMadCow, Huan, King Uther, and Pittbull. Anyone else, please refrain from posting here. This poll specifically deals with wether a ghost's ethereal equipment becomes corporal after leaving his body. The SRD says that only magical weapons and magic of a manifested ghost can affect material targets, Libris Mortis says that items that leave the ghost become corporal (like arrows or a bag of tricks). To prevent confusion, we will only make one clear rule without exceptions. The specifics can be found in the Ghost Discussion (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=588589) thread. I am sure you have read everything. Also note that there is a second poll dealing with ethereal equipment. Since your vote will affect the CoCo I want to ask you to think about your decision carefully and give us a reason for why you voted that way. You can also post here and discuss your points before voting. The poll is open for full 5 days so no need to hurry. |
| Luni03-11-06, 05:56 PM | All magical effects should suffer from the 50% misschance. This means that there is a chance that when a ghost uses his bag of tricks, he tosses it on to the ethereal plane and not the material one. Ghost Touch weapons and armor allow zero misschance for a manifested ghost. Why do I think that? It is because, we should just use the rules as written, and avoid Libris Mortis and other sources. I also think that ghosts are powerful enough without letting them avoid the misschance from using a bow. |
| LLMadCow03-11-06, 07:57 PM | Do items that leave a manifested ghost become corporal? I am in favor of going with the SRD and RAW whenever possible. I agree, with Luni, that Ghosts are powerful enough and there is no need to give them more power. There is a reason that the books have Ghost Touch items; making it so that anything has the same ability ... it seems like one of the aspects of the Ghost Touch ability has now become obsolete. | King Uther03-12-06, 06:41 PM | Sorry. I was going to vote after work and I've basically been at work for the whole weekend. However, I was going to choose to abstain and trust the wisdom of my fellow elders. |
| Pittbull03-13-06, 04:05 AM | I would have voted as Luni and LL. But forgot to make the click on the button... Sorry! |
