| TelinArtho08-22-07, 01:14 PM | Fights of the Week: August 22nd Please don't edit the sheet after the deadline or you will lose the match. Rules of Gladius All that you need to know is written in the Rules of Gladius. It could be useful also to give a look to the Court Decisions Part 1 and Part 2. Please do not make fake accounts or insult the Elders. Pairings GM MindwandererB will pair the active Characters of Gladius after the deadline. Link to pairings. Make sure that your character is not in prison. Pitlording You should use the CoCo Dice Roller (http://www.hwx.it/wizards.com) for the fight. If you need it, there is a nice template ready to use that will help. You could find the Battle Map Tag Generator (http://www.hwx.it/coco) for dynamic Maps very useful. You must post a link to your fight in this thread when it is complete. If you need a quick and dirty tool to calculate distances between two points (in 2-D or 3-D), this tool used to suffice until it got taken down without giving us proper notification... the Nerve Another useful link is the Quick Access tables for XP and Gold. If a fight needs to be rerun, the Pitlord has to inform the Pitlords account. He cannot react to requests from Players because the other player and the pitlord might disagree. He has no time to read the fight and the discussion. Please keep that in mind. PMs from players with rerun requests won't have an impact. Recent News and Developments The twin Denth campaigns are well on their way. Good luck to all the fresh meat campaigners... You'll need it. Lighting Effects are now in place. If you haven't purchased or prepared accordingly, you do so at your own risk. ECL5 and above only Also, monster/NPC equipment guidelines and the change to the GP value they are given have been changed. Ghosts can now spend one active week out of cycle to turn materials ethereal. Currently being discussed in the Council: Possible changes to the crafting rules. Comments & Concerns Post any comments or concerns for this weeks fights in this thread. Be kind and courteous to your fellow posters, and don't feed the pitlords. Please remember that they do hard work and consume a lot of time to let you play. Above all, have FUN! If you have questions or comments on any of the changes, please make your posts be heard in the Council of Gladius! |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 01:40 PM | Looks like we're a little low on pitlords this week. I was hoping I could take a bit of a light load this week on them - so hopefully some people will step up for a few. |
| mucki08-22-07, 01:42 PM | Umm, my char is actually called krusk, not mucki (char list vs. char sheet). |
| Erithmu08-22-07, 01:53 PM | Umm, my char is actually called krusk, not mucki (char list vs. char sheet). It happens. Wednesday around this time is a little nutty around here. We all find out who we get to punish with our characters. Plotting the doom and systematic destruction of our foes. Every now and again that simply means "Run, Bite" |
| whitebaron08-22-07, 01:59 PM | Looks like we're a little low on pitlords this week. I was hoping I could take a bit of a light load this week on them - so hopefully some people will step up for a few. i already sent a pm to pitlords for 2 fights. ;) 2 chars, 2 fights, seems fair deal to me. |
| mucki08-22-07, 02:00 PM | sorry, no offense meant :) and yeah, i heard about that one ;-) |
| namfrawd08-22-07, 02:12 PM | This will only be my second week in the arena, but if you need the help, then I will take one fight. |
| mucki08-22-07, 02:28 PM | I can help out with one too if you really need more people, but I'd like to ask for one of the lower leagues if possible, since I am pretty sure I would overlook one of the sideffects of the high level abilities or something ... (ie: "i r not teh pro" :) ) |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 02:44 PM | I heartily encourage anyone who can give up their time to try pitlording. It is thankless, but it does keep this place afloat. Personally I enjoy it for the most part. |
| mucki08-22-07, 02:48 PM | Well, i figured out how to use the map and dice roller scripts and i have nothing to do on the weekend, so sign me up for one :) |
| templer1008-22-07, 03:14 PM | me- looks like iam having - Monster week - Again... i dont see anyone active in ECL 9-10 - ACTIVATE CHARS PEEPS |
| Erithmu08-22-07, 03:16 PM | No. :) |
| lonewolf08-22-07, 03:27 PM | @MWB: Note that The Chameleon leveled to lvl11 this week but is still in the ECL10 roster. ty |
| templer1008-22-07, 03:30 PM | pff - i dont win ALL the time... |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 03:47 PM | Okay - I have monster info for the Denth fights. @Zevox - ironically enough, I don't know that I needed to roll for you. I think Senorda's impressive knowledge is probably enough for most of the possibles on the list - except maybe the clerics... Archdevil Asran (Zevox) in the cavern against a Hezrou. Diana Valassar (Sjiggie) in the cavern against a Small Sized Winged Biped. Rennae Longhollow (Callix) in the cavern against a Small Sized Winged Biped. Brother Ryu (hogarth) in the temple against a Small Sized Winged Biped Outsider. Pander Skunk-eye (hogarth) in the cavern against a Medium sized Multi-legged creature. |
| MindWandererB08-22-07, 03:49 PM | @MWB: Note that The Chameleon leveled to lvl11 this week but is still in the ECL10 roster. ty And is still listed as active, meaning I haven't updated his late fight yet. Be patient--I have a bit of a late start today. |
| lonewolf08-22-07, 04:54 PM | @MWB:I dont wanna be a pain in the ..., but it seems to me that you missed whitebarons second character on the roster, probably because he was posted just today. I just wanna say it in time so that you dont have to change pairings later on... *shutting up now* ignore this, I am apparently blind... |
| Eamane08-22-07, 04:58 PM | @MWB If needed, I can run a second fight this week. |
| lonewolf08-22-07, 05:13 PM | With the 2 Denth Campaigns and Denth interceptions, the higher leagues are all quite empty. There will be only a single non-monster fight of ECL6 or higher this week! |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 05:16 PM | With the 2 Denth Campaigns and Denth interceptions, the higher leagues are all quite empty. There will be only a single non-monster fight of ECL6 or higher this week! To be fair - please note that 4 of the 5 interceptions for Denth are ECL3 characters... so much for the heroes stepping up... |
| Rauul08-22-07, 05:19 PM | To be fair - please note that 4 of the 5 interceptions for Denth are ECL3 characters... so much for the heroes stepping up... Well your EcL encounters are CR 3... My ECL 8 Encounter was CR 8 (ECL 13) |
| Rauul08-22-07, 05:31 PM | To bad you couldn't take the ECL 3-4 on a Mini Campain to clear out the city of Denth who come in... I know of a Dwarf that would love to go :) |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 05:32 PM | Well your EcL encounters are CR 3... My ECL 8 Encounter was CR 8 (ECL 13) I summarily refuse to make a comment about this. "If you have nothing constructive to say, say nothing at all." |
| MindWandererB08-22-07, 05:35 PM | Pairings are done! With most of the experienced heroes of Gladius out on the hunt for the agents of Denth, many of the monsters in the area have become more bold. Only the neophyte gladiators, with their ardent defenses against Denth, seem to be free from the monstrous incursions. | MindWandererB08-22-07, 05:37 PM | Rauul does have a point: a high-CR monster designed to be challenging can be absolutely brutal. There's less room for abuse at the lower CRs--although hardly impossible <*coughmulecough*>. |
| Salrantol08-22-07, 05:39 PM | Pairings are done! With most of the experienced heroes of Gladius out on the hunt for the agents of Denth, many of the monsters in the area have become more bold. | templer1008-22-07, 05:41 PM | Come on, make it Lord Lorian vs. Longshot. templer10 hates monster fights. all a conspiracy to make me lose more... btw- how the hell i make something duird to intercept? 36 point buy? how much Gold? and do the other guy gets to see sheet before writing tactics? |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 05:47 PM | Rauul does have a point: a high-CR monster designed to be challenging can be absolutely brutal. There's less room for abuse at the lower CRs--although hardly impossible <*coughmulecough*>. All of the creatures I am sending via Denth are probably weaker than regular monster fights with these opponents for two reasons. One - I am not optimizing their equipment to the utmost (bracers of armor +1 vs a potion of mage armor or even a [Ma] Studded Leather armor or Mithril Chain Shirt) and am very conservative on expendables. Two - I am the one writing tactics. While people love to point out that I have a high kill rate on my quests - a 50/50 kill rate is about my rate on winning in the arena as well. And let's not forget that the win rate for the Denth crowd in week 1 was 1/2 and in week 2 was 2/2... 3 wins, 4 losses so far... And with that said - all monster info and tactics for all Denth fights have been sent. |
| MindWandererB08-22-07, 05:47 PM | all a conspiracy to make me lose more... btw- how the hell i make something duird to intercept? 36 point buy? how much Gold? and do the other guy gets to see sheet before writing tactics? From the guild rules: Each week, there is a flat 25% chance that one of the paramilitary groups will attack a guild. The weights are determined as follows: 1 point for an Indifferent attitude, 3 points for an Unfriendly attitude, and 5 points for a Hostile attitude, doubled if the district contains a structure of that guild, and tripled if it contains a headquarters (not an outpost). These points are ranked for all the groups toward all the guilds to construct a table, and the aggressor and defender are determined by a roll on that table. The defending guild can send any character(s) to intercept (up to 3, within 2 ECLs of each other). Each PMG has a race and class associated with it, and the attacking agent will be an NPC of that race and class, of an ECL matched to the interceptors. It will use 36 point buy and have PC wealth, but like a PC will be limited by the 1/3 rule, and the intercepting player will have the chance to look over its' sheet before writing tactics. If successful or not intercepted, a random structure of the defending guild as by an Assault (Raid Headquarters: Arson) operation performed by a character with a powerrating of 1000. |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 05:52 PM | Monster information for Longshot and for Samuel have been posted. Good luck. |
| templer1008-22-07, 05:54 PM | Hmm lvl 8 druid and full cash- time to test out a new build.... |
| Rauul08-22-07, 05:57 PM | @Salrantol.. Kilor Mintolo Monster info is... Medium beast (you have 0 knowledges that apply) |
| templer1008-22-07, 06:03 PM | Rauul - Corrupotr monster Roll - 1 Ghost will of the wisps - have.... fun? |
| Eamane08-22-07, 06:11 PM | Rauul - Corrupotr monster Roll - 1 Ghost will of the wisps - have.... fun? ... lol Seriously? Ghost? Of a Will o' Wisp? Thats hilarious. |
| Rauul08-22-07, 06:12 PM | @whitebaron Tactics for Gortek sent |
| Rauul08-22-07, 06:13 PM | ... lol Seriously? Ghost? Of a Will o' Wisp? Thats hilarious. is not.... seriously is not... |
| hogarth08-22-07, 06:14 PM | To be fair - please note that 4 of the 5 interceptions for Denth are ECL3 characters... so much for the heroes stepping up... It's Denth's fault for sending a bunch of mephits to attack Gladius in the first place. :D By the way, does "multilegged" mean "more than 2" or "more than 4"? |
| Eamane08-22-07, 06:43 PM | @rauul & nawmford Tactics for Xuan and Alacrity sent. |
| Rauul08-22-07, 06:56 PM | @templer10 Tactics for Corrupter Sent.... Stupid Ghost that can only be effected by Magic Missiles... |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 07:23 PM | It's Denth's fault for sending a bunch of mephits to attack Gladius in the first place. :D By the way, does "multilegged" mean "more than 2" or "more than 4"? More than one. Though you might be safe to assume it isn't a biped or a quadruped since I use those designations fairly frequently. |
| Sjiggie08-22-07, 08:00 PM | @ Pitlords and Guildlords: Rennae Longhallow is not one of mine characters but from Callix please fix it in the pairings and the Guild reactions post. I think Telin made a mistake in his CAP reaction. Sjiggie |
| hogarth08-22-07, 09:00 PM | More than one. Though you might be safe to assume it isn't a biped or a quadruped since I use those designations fairly frequently. Medium + multi-legged, eh? Hmmm...too big for a xorn, and if it were a templated vermin presumably Pander would've gotten a better hint. Well, I guess I'll find out soon enough! |
| MindWandererB08-22-07, 09:25 PM | @templer: Tactics for Maya vs. the Nova Duo have been sent. I'm really hanging on to that Great Renown by a thread.... |
| Salrantol08-22-07, 09:32 PM | @Salrantol.. Kilor Mintolo Monster info is... Medium beast (you have 0 knowledges that apply)By "beast" you mean...? I would think that rough description would include basic body shape, so by beast do you mean "non-hominid", "quadruped", "abstract form"?And you did check it against Salrantol's knowledges, right? Edit: And then I looked at the Battles thread posting.... |
| hogarth08-22-07, 09:43 PM | @Sjiggie: tactics sent for Brother Ryu @Rauul: tactics sent for Pander Skunk-eye Down with Denth! |
| Taureus_Drakken08-22-07, 09:43 PM | @whitebaron Tactics for Ackbar sent. |
| Zevox08-22-07, 09:52 PM | @Zevox - ironically enough, I don't know that I needed to roll for you. I think Senorda's impressive knowledge is probably enough for most of the possibles on the list - except maybe the clerics... Archdevil Asran (Zevox) in the cavern against a Hezrou. Heh, and here I was thinking to myself its a shame Senorda is still one level away from the Loremaster Lore ability giving her a chance to ID anything - I completely forgot her Know (Planes) would ID 90% of the monsters on your lists. Its a real shame her Knowledge isn't a bit higher though - two more points and she'd get to see the thing's equipment too! Appropriate monster too. Is this a Denth fight, or a Blood War reenactment ;) ? At first glance, should be tough, but winnable - though I can think of an item you could give it that would change that to an outright slaughter of Asran. I just hope you're not that evil... ... lol Seriously? Ghost? Of a Will o' Wisp? Thats hilarious. Only if you're not the one fighting it. Which means I agree, its a laugh riot :D . @templer: Tactics for Maya vs. the Nova Duo have been sent. I'm really hanging on to that Great Renown by a thread.... Good - it means more if you have to work for it :P . Oh, and MWB, about the credits breakdown, shouldn't I lose two activation credits? Istima crafting, Kathren fighting, Arden & Asran intercepting? Zevox |
| NiQil08-22-07, 10:03 PM | @ MWB: It appears you left me off the credits list again...2 characters active so should be getting a +1 from my admin credit. |
| TelinArtho08-22-07, 10:16 PM | Heh, and here I was thinking to myself its a shame Senorda is still one level away from the Loremaster Lore ability giving her a chance to ID anything - I completely forgot her Know (Planes) would ID 90% of the monsters on your lists. At first glance, should be tough, but winnable - though I can think of an item you could give it that would change that to an outright slaughter of Asran. I just hope you're not that evil... I was thinking the same thing about the blood war. Though - I have to admit - I don't give you a very high chance to win it. Good luck though. |
| MindWandererB08-22-07, 10:34 PM | Oh, and MWB, about the credits breakdown, shouldn't I lose two activation credits? Istima crafting, Kathren fighting, Arden & Asran intercepting?@ MWB: It appears you left me off the credits list again...2 characters active so should be getting a +1 from my admin credit.Yep, yep. Missed Arden, and the pairingsmaker still doesn't pick up ECLs 11+. |
| Salrantol08-22-07, 11:14 PM | If a monster fight is a templated version of something you can identify, you get to know that, right? (i.e. celestial dire rat with Knowledge (nature) tells you it's an augmented dire rat) |
| namfrawd08-22-07, 11:34 PM | @ Eamane, WhiteBaron- Tactics sent. @ Eamane- Tactics received. |
| Vathelokai08-23-07, 12:55 AM | @Eamane: Tactics for Unholy Ninja (vs Vivi the Doomed) sent. |
| Vathelokai08-23-07, 12:59 AM | If a monster fight is a templated version of something you can identify, you get to know that, right? (i.e. celestial dire rat with Knowledge (nature) tells you it's an augmented dire rat) That is correct, per The rules of Gladius. Knowledge and Templates: If a creature has a template that changes its type, multiple knowledge skills may apply (one to the base creature, and one to the post-template one). In this situation, each knowledge skill is considered independently. For instance, if the character encounters a fiendish dire rat, he or she would be able to identify the fiendish template with Knowledge (arcana), and to identify the dire rat with Knowledge (nature). Similarly, a skeletal troll would require both Knowledge (nature) and Knowledge (religion) to identify completely, but a character with only Knowledge (religion) would still know that it is a Large, bipedal skeleton (which is probably enough). |
| Zevox08-23-07, 01:04 AM | I was thinking the same thing about the blood war. Though - I have to admit - I don't give you a very high chance to win it. Good luck though. Darn. Guess its a good thing we have a second shot at stopping the attack, then. Zevox |
| Eamane08-23-07, 01:10 AM | @Vathelokai & namfrawd Tactics received, waiting on your respective opponents to start running one of the battles. |
| MindWandererB08-23-07, 01:15 AM | If a monster fight is a templated version of something you can identify, you get to know that, right? (i.e. celestial dire rat with Knowledge (nature) tells you it's an augmented dire rat) Correct. But on the flip side, celestial dire rat with knowledge (arcana) tells you that it's a celestial something. |
| templer1008-23-07, 02:45 AM | MWB - i also should have gotten 1 credit more - 3 regular Fights + 1 interleague = 5-1 (3 chars active)=4. |
| lonewolf08-23-07, 04:38 AM | @Telin: Tactics for both Samuel and The Chameleon sent. |
| mucki08-23-07, 04:43 AM | @Rauul: Tactics for Krusk sent |
| Callix08-23-07, 07:07 AM | @ Zevox, namfrawd: Tactics for Rennae and Ralein sent. |
| Salrantol08-23-07, 08:04 AM | Correct. But on the flip side, celestial dire rat with knowledge (arcana) tells you that it's a celestial something.Do you mean Knowledge (the planes)? |
| lonewolf08-23-07, 08:10 AM | No. Fiendish Dire Rats and the like are Magical Beasts and not Outsiders. => Knowledge(arcana) is the correct skill to identify them. |
| TelinArtho08-23-07, 09:44 AM | Darn. Guess its a good thing we have a second shot at stopping the attack, then. Zevox Where do you get a second shot at stopping the attack from? |
| Zevox08-23-07, 11:22 AM | Where do you get a second shot at stopping the attack from? Guardian at the Guildhall. @ templer10 - Monster info for Elric and Lorian. Zevox |
| TelinArtho08-23-07, 11:48 AM | I thought the guardians were only used when no one steps up to defend at all. Tactics for Berri vs Marcos have been sent. |
| whitebaron08-23-07, 12:03 PM | tactics for all my fights received. today is my rl-rpg evening, so i won't start till saturday. |
| TelinArtho08-23-07, 12:08 PM | Hello, I was looking at starting my first character in the COre Coliseum and was informed that the tactic I wanted to use was not allowed. If this is the wrong place to verify this I will be more then happy to be directed to the correct place. The tactic involved using minor creation to create black lotus extract and then finding ways of administering it to my opponents. according the rules I've seen this is allowed. Black lotus extract is all plant matter and therefore allowed within the rules of the minor creation psychic power. My plan was to use the power during the prefight buff time period and extend it so it would last long enough till the fight. It is a very powerful tactic and I was informed by another poster that they had run this past an elder and was informed it wouldn't be allowed. this might be something you want to add to the house rules section if this is true. I appreciate your time and consideration on the matter. Just for future reference, this is the correct place to post such a question. That said - I would agree with the elder that was asked in this case (not me). While just plant matter, it makes the Minor Creation power severely more powerful than it is "supposed" to be. This was an issue that was brought up some time ago as well, I'll do a search through the archives and see what was said at that time. |
| Zevox08-23-07, 12:44 PM | I thought the guardians were only used when no one steps up to defend at all. Nope, they're an extra layer of defense any operation has to pass through to succeed. Why do you think Cat was so big on using them even with all the powerful members the CEF had in his day? Zevox |
| TelinArtho08-23-07, 12:50 PM | Nope, they're an extra layer of defense any operation has to pass through to succeed. Why do you think Cat was so big on using them even with all the powerful members the CEF had in his day? Zevox Frankly, I thought Cat wanted to be able to run the day-to-day operations without any help or input from his members. I literally thought they were only there to protect in the case when no one else was available. Now I understand why you guys (MWB and yourself) thought that CEF had such an upper hand in this event. |
| templer1008-23-07, 12:51 PM | Guardian at the Guildhall. @ templer10 - Monster info for Elric and Lorian. Zevox 4 ECL 11 creates- fun... iam going to need all those PPS. p.s is this outsider week for me or something? first telin, now this... p.s.s - tactics form Lady liara were sent last week and TM posted them (and for MWB) in last week FOTW somewhere. |
| hogarth08-23-07, 01:19 PM | Doesn't this belong in the Tavern, not in the Fight o' the Week thread? It was PhaedrusXY who asked about it before. Personally, I think the high Craft DC (30) would make it difficult to abuse in practice. |
| MindWandererB08-23-07, 02:35 PM | Nope, they're an extra layer of defense any operation has to pass through to succeed. Why do you think Cat was so big on using them even with all the powerful members the CEF had in his day? Zevox Actually, no. I thought TLT and CEF had the advantage because they could do whatever they liked with their CAPs and still have defenses. "If that assigned property is attacked, the deity sends a Guardian to defend it just as if the Guild had used it to intercept the operator," meaning that they don't get both an interception and the guardian. There's another reference somewhere in the rules about using both a PC and a guardian to intercept a higher-level PC, but I can't find it right now. Edit: It's in the section on convoys. Not quite the same thing, though. |
| templer1008-23-07, 02:48 PM | Zevox - tactics for Lord lorian are out - 4 bralani - Seroiusly not fun - good thing i have so many pps - so at least i have a chance. |
| Salrantol08-23-07, 03:01 PM | No. Fiendish Dire Rats and the like are Magical Beasts and not Outsiders. => Knowledge(arcana) is the correct skill to identify them.I realized this this morning, for some reason I typed "Celestial" and thought "Half-Celestial".... |
| templer1008-23-07, 03:33 PM | Zevox - tactics for Elrick sent - i was betting on the 3 rangers/horizon walkers since they are the only bunch with decent ranged attack of the ooptions left and really hoping it's not the 3 chain devils - mind telling me which? |
| templer1008-23-07, 04:11 PM | Telin - tactics for longshot vs the lvl 8 half celestial sorcerer thing sent (i think). |
| templer1008-23-07, 06:33 PM | Zevox - Opponents sheet for arden's intercept is up - Good luck- had some fun with an old build idea of mine |
| Salrantol08-24-07, 12:23 AM | @Rauul: Tactics for Kilor vs. what she hopes is a monstrous centipede sent via PM. |
| NiQil08-24-07, 02:11 AM | @ templer10 and mucki: My internet has been down all night until just now as I am on my way to bed, so my tactics will be turned in tomorrow evening after I get home from work. |
| TelinArtho08-24-07, 11:16 AM | Samuel Highground (lonewolf) vs Human Werewolf Druid 9 (Unknown Monster) is up. |
| lonewolf08-24-07, 11:49 AM | Samuel Highground (lonewolf) vs Human Werewolf Druid 9 (Unknown Monster) is up. Thanks for running! |
| MindWandererB08-24-07, 02:31 PM | @Zevox: Just two reminders. One is that Guild stuff still needs to be done for this week. Second is that tactics for Gakhnalak vs. Liara are here. |
| namfrawd08-24-07, 04:08 PM | Is anybody else having trouble getting into the Battles of Gladius thread? |
| hogarth08-24-07, 04:10 PM | Is anybody else having trouble getting into the Battles of Gladius thread? Try going to your options and reducing the number of posts displayed per page to 20. That works for me. |
| waywreth08-24-07, 04:23 PM | Is anybody else having trouble getting into the Battles of Gladius thread? It's a common and annoying bug. Hogarth's suggestion has always worked for me as well. |
| namfrawd08-24-07, 04:26 PM | Thanks guys, that helped |

| Taureus_Drakken08-24-07, 11:12 PM | I am looking over the rolls right now, and I see what you mean. But given his tactics, that wasn't something he was going to try and do. Like whitebaron said, he needs to include back-up tactics in case he runs into something like this again. ¬Taureus¬ |

But i concur for the attack from prone/stand up AoO. Actually he has to drop his halberd, and pick it up next round. thats why you use trip weapons after all, right? gives an AoO for full AC, and the attack in this round is for full AC, not -4 and is still only a move action. For me, this is default Trip-Weapon behaviour, and i'll do it as pitlord everytime unless someone specifically says to do it another way. btw: the trip hit, he dropped his halberd, the AoO hit too, but the damage wasnt enough - 4 hp were missing for the final blow. :) i'll do the whole rewards block later, since its such a nice day i'll be outside till much later... edit: oh my, the 1 minute = 10 rounds issue. i got to stick it somewhere on my wall. i always believe its 6. i'll edit for that too. note that it (gladly for me) doesnt change a bit - his rolls were way toooo good there. |

| mucki08-25-07, 10:57 AM | First part of Ryer Ord Star vs. Wooly is up. The dice roller and battlemap went offline midfight, so I am taking a break now. If you have time, read through it and give complaints, then I don't have to redo as much :P P.S: the distance covered by the combatants in this fight is insane tbh. |
| whitebaron08-25-07, 02:10 PM | If your Saying he Dropped his Weapon the times he failed.. You realize that it provokes an Attack of Opportunity when he picks it up.. But i am good with it.. i don't argue that much about wins and loses.. yes, you got one AoO for 13 damage like that. if he doesnt hit for str check, there's no need for dropping it, since you don't get the reverse check there. as you can see, i rerolled damage for this AoO and didnt take the damage that was accidentally rolled before, (i deleted two hits where i deducted rage-ac-penalty twice). i did this because i could not take any of these two rolls without having any guilty feelings. in real-life time, i rolled the 12 damage before the 17 damage, which would in this fight be the difference between win (exactly enough to win, and 2 points below max-damage) and loss. |
| Eamane08-25-07, 04:31 PM | Gwerdan "Twofist" Grummler (whitebaron) vs. Kargoth Dal'Gorash (namfrawd) is up here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13547218&postcount=1251). I'll do my next fight tomorrow, I'm feeling a bit under the weather and I have plans for the evening. |
| whitebaron08-25-07, 04:55 PM | really nice to read fight. i didnt care anymore for the outcome, once i started reading your descriptions. btw: i still think pinning is better than dealing more damage, as it rules out him escaping the grapple, which is essential, too. |
| whitebaron08-25-07, 07:17 PM | Marcos Dal'Gorash (namfrawd) vs. Berri the Friendly (TelinArtho) is up. very unlucky for telin, his kindness to namfrawd (forgot essential items for spellcasters on his sheet, which he could clearly have bought - telin was ok with letting him have the spell comp. pouch etc.) wasn't repaid by the dice gods. about retrieving arrows that didnt hit: does the loser get to retrieve arrows/bolts too? |

Yes, both parties get to recover ammunition. Also, include a hard link (the button that looks like a globe with a chain beneath it) in your post linking to the fight. |
| whitebaron08-25-07, 08:12 PM | hehe, thnx for the button description, but actually i simply didnt realize that it is common to link it, so here it comes: Marcos Dal'Gorash (namfrawd) vs. Berri the Friendly (TelinArtho) Gortek ChaoSlayer (Rauul) vs. Ackbar Stormsword (Taureus_Drakken) ps: i've been administering a vbulletin board for at least 5 years now. i always use simple layout, so there isnt even that button, but its generally faster to just type the bbcode shortcuts. ;) |

| TelinArtho08-26-07, 10:08 PM | @templer10 - I do see an error. Asran charges in round 3. However, the hezrou is large and has a 10ft reach. Therefore - the charge provokes an AoO from the hezrou. If the hezrou hits on that AoO - it is entirely possible that Asran would be dead before the killing blow is dealt. |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 09:52 AM | @whitebaron - small issue on the fight summary for Berri's fight. When figuring Spell Levels, 0-th level spells are 0 spell levels. As such, Berri used 0SLs (Resistance). Couldn't hurt to put in that it was a cleric spell cast as well (though it can't be a sorcerer spell anyway for Berri). Thanks. |

| TelinArtho08-27-07, 11:05 AM | Hmm - another thing. Senorda casts Scorching ray while Asran is in melee with the hezrou. This means that she suffers a penalty to attacking for making a ranged attack into melee - and one of the shots miss because of this. I will be working on my remaining fights as I can get time to work on them. Life is back to busy for me - so I'm doing what I can. |

I will be working on my remaining fights as I can get time to work on them. Life is back to busy for me - so I'm doing what I can. Actualy she didnt - the hezrou 5 footed away round before that to do the Chaos hammer (since i neglecetd to look at it's concetration modifier) so asran wasnt technicly in melee at the time so senorda did the Scorching ray before Asran who then 5 footed into range again. round or 2 after that i noticed the concetration so i didnt bother with moving again. |

This means that she suffers a penalty to attacking for making a ranged attack into melee - and one of the shots miss because of this. Telin -- I thought this too, at first, but it falls under the "part of the enemy is 10+ feet away" clause of firing into a melee (since the hezrou took a 5' step back). |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 11:48 AM | However, if there's no reason for the Hezrou to be stepping back (and in fact, it exposes it to easier attacks by the opponent) - why then is it stepping back? |
| Eamane08-27-07, 12:14 PM | However, if there's no reason for the Hezrou to be stepping back (and in fact, it exposes it to easier attacks by the opponent) - why then is it stepping back? Probably the same reason Eamane kept standing up to get whacked in the head by Kargoth; it's a pitlord's basic action, even if the person doing it didn't ask to do it. |
| templer1008-27-07, 12:20 PM | However, if there's no reason for the Hezrou to be stepping back (and in fact, it exposes it to easier attacks by the opponent) - why then is it stepping back? BEcuase i didnt notice it's Abnormally high Concetration skill modifier until late in the fight it didnt make a bit of diffrence (and you didnt mention NOT to 5 foot backwards for the SLA -which is prett standart) - so i allowed it to stand and i dont se why it should change now. now if you mentioned NOT to 5 foot- i would say you are right. p.s. note tha 5 footing to where it went means it cant be flanked which would have helped asran. p.s.s and i think Hograth is right since even when they are 5 foot away - part ot the hezrou is 10 feet away. |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 12:23 PM | Meh - fine. I guess I'll just hope it hits on the AoO on the charge. |
| Erithmu08-27-07, 12:25 PM | Does Fast healing work if a person is bleeding (as through being in negative hp)? |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 12:29 PM | It should - but they would be at different times in the initiative order. |
| Erithmu08-27-07, 12:31 PM | It should - but they would be at different times in the initiative order. ok ... bleeding-fast-healing-monster's turn comes up. fast healing (which would stabilize) bleeding (no need to check) or the other way around ... strangely enough it kinda matters. Edit: scratch that ... I missed something ... |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 12:36 PM | Oh - you meant from being below 0hp? Well - fast healing only works if at 0hp or above anyway... [EDIT - Actually - I thought it worked that way... maybe I'm mistaken...] |
| Erithmu08-27-07, 12:56 PM | Nah ... I forgot the mephit's DR .... |
| Erithmu08-27-07, 01:05 PM | Diana vs Denthian Earth Mephit is up. |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 01:48 PM | As was pointed out to me by Vath in our quest - apparently the standing rule on recharging breath weapons indicates that a "1 round" recharge is usable on the following round. Not that it will make much of a difference here - but if an edit is needed - please do note it. Of a more important note - summoned creatures from a "Summon" special ability (Demons, Devils, mephits for example), last one hour: Summon (Sp): A creature with the summon ability can summon specific other creatures of its kind much as though casting a summon monster spell, but it usually has only a limited chance of success (as specified in the creature’s entry). Roll d%: On a failure, no creature answers the summons. Summoned creatures automatically return whence they came after 1 hour. A creature that has just been summoned cannot use its own summon ability for 1 hour. Most creatures with the ability to summon do not use it lightly, since it leaves them beholden to the summoned creature. In general, they use it only when necessary to save their own lives. An appropriate spell level is given for each summoning ability for purposes of Concentration checks and attempts to dispel the summoned creature. No experience points are awarded for summoned monsters. Again - no need to edit unless Sjiggie sees the need. |

| hogarth08-27-07, 03:46 PM | @Telin -- I was looking at the set-up for Pander Skunk-eye vs. Formian Warrior and I noticed that you gave the formian equipment even though its entry says "None". Do all Denthian creatures have equipment nonetheless or is this an oversight? Note that this disagrees with our current guidelines, although I don't have a problem with saying that Denthian monster attacks are a special case. |

Plus - I don't like to lose due to a very lucky crit... @Telin -- I was looking at the set-up for Pander Skunk-eye vs. Formian Warrior and I noticed that you gave the formian equipment even though its entry says "None". Do all Denthian creatures have equipment? Note that this disagrees with our current guidelines, although I don't have a problem with saying that Denthian monster attacks are a special case. It is technically an oversight - I wrote the equipment guidelines for the Denth creatures before the final version of the monster equipment guidelines were ratified and I didn't notice that the final version changed from the initial version (where all creatures got equipment - but only if it could use it). I'm not going to change the equipment now (as most of the time, the equipment is pretty minor, but more importantly, I spent a good many hours working on equipment...) though. |

(http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13555061&postcount=1253) Denth 1, Pander 0 In round 3, Pander is size Large -- shouldn't he get an AoO against the formian while it approaches? Similarly, he would get one in other situations too, like round 9 (not with his club, but with armor spikes). Also, the camel's Defend trick should trigger when the formian attacks him. |
| Zevox08-27-07, 08:40 PM | Not sure if it will matter .. but Rennae has boost construct feat, which is what would give it a second menu item. Ah, that explains that. And no, it wouldn't matter, since the construct never managed to hit anything. Zevox |

Similarly, he would get one in other situations too, like round 9 (not with his club, but with armor spikes). Also, the camel's Defend trick should trigger when the formian attacks him. Will look at it.. but camel was never attacked... will check the AOO's (forgot you get them even when using a wand) Edited and WOW.. Crit with an Enlarged Shillelagh is 8d6? anyways Outcome changed do to a crit on the First AOO |
| hogarth08-27-07, 08:46 PM | Will look at it.. but camel was never attacked... will check the AOO's (forgot you get them even when using a wand) "Defend" means "defend me!" not "defend yourself!". Defend (DC 20): The animal defends you (or is ready to defend you if no threat is present), even without any command being given. Alternatively, you can command the animal to defend a specific other character. And that first AoO should be with his shillelagh, so maybe it could do some serious damage (hope, hope). EDIT: I guess 8d6+20 counts as serious damage. |
| TelinArtho08-27-07, 09:29 PM | @Rauul - why do I see attack rolls in the roller for Pander that are in real time before the critical - but located after the critical? It seems to me that the first attack roll is a clear miss (#74526), even if you might have the attack bonus incorrect. I'm pretty skeptical about the fight when I see things like this when I have no indication of a reasonable explanation. |

| Rauul08-27-07, 09:45 PM | Well I did a fresh Aoo roll because it was before the -5 str from the poison instead of moving rolls and trying to do explain adjustments that aren't on the roller...but if you rather i can go and adjust everything... just know the modifiers will be off.. |
| Salrantol08-27-07, 11:58 PM | Kilor Mintolo vs. Celestial Basilisk is done here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13513124&postcount=1241)..Not that it ended up mattering, but you didn't include the damage from the following on the fight-ending crit: increased STR from enlarge person, magic weapon, and Power Attack. The roll should have been 6d6+8+8+6, so the basilisk would be well past dead (not merely unconscious). Also, there's no such thing as a 2pp Energy Missile (it's a level 2 power, costs 3pp), so Salrantol should have 2 more pp left at the end to carry over. |
| TelinArtho08-28-07, 12:16 AM | Well I did a fresh Aoo roll because it was before the -5 str from the poison instead of moving rolls and trying to do explain adjustments that aren't on the roller...but if you rather i can go and adjust everything... just know the modifiers will be off.. I would appreciate an edit to correct the rolling order. If my opponent isn't supposed to get a crit until his 5th attack, I am rightly dismayed when I see it happen on his first (as a for instance). |

| Callix08-28-07, 02:29 AM | Zevox, I must protest. Rennae has Boost Construct, giving the construct two abilities. She was manifesting from a powerstone at ML 3, so it's a level two construct. And why did she waste her nuke on the summoned mephit? That's just plain annoying. Another aside. What happened to the 1/3 rule? Rennae has 7 pp left for two fights at the moment. I'm aware that this probably won't change the outcome, but I'm annoyed nonetheless. |
| templer1008-28-07, 04:16 AM | Arden Surrenders to Burly the 8th level Human druid Here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13525337&postcount=1244) - Didnt actually mean to make spesificly an Arden killer - just a Melee killer in general. p.s do druids still get speed penalty from Wild heavy armor while in wildshape? really dont make sense to me if they do- after all NORMALLY with regualr armor they shouldnt since it merge with the Druid (i think) and wild armor is no diffrent exept it keeps the Armor bonus. |
| templer1008-28-07, 04:43 AM | Longshot (templer10) vs Half-Celestial Wild Elf Sorcerer 8 (Unknown Monster) is up. Thanks for the run - 2 things- the Dispel should have been a 9 points dispel per the tactics which is enough to autosucseed vs his CL of 8 (dispel being 1d20+10+8 VS 11+8) so please edit me in for 1 less pps spent. Also - please edit in the political career bonus - i have 26% political carrer and 21.42% ally penalty (ECL 7 ally) for net bonus of 4.58% so 3137 XP and 6065.53 GP ty. |
| Sjiggie08-28-07, 08:37 AM | Diana vs Denthian Earth Mephit is up. Well I have some issues with the fight. First I asked to move around and avoid the mephit so that they gain easy base contact. In round 3 Diana could move south and for instance and try to refocus. The next round she may get a shot at the wounded mephit and maybe kill it ending the fight there instead of her waiting for the mephits to get in base contact while her horse could move. My tactics where clear to avoid melee combat as long as possible but now she d=just wait till the mephits come into melee. Also for easy reference I quoted Telin's comments. Thanks Sjiggie As was pointed out to me by Vath in our quest - apparently the standing rule on recharging breath weapons indicates that a "1 round" recharge is usable on the following round. Not that it will make much of a difference here - but if an edit is needed - please do note it. Of a more important note - summoned creatures from a "Summon" special ability (Demons, Devils, mephits for example), last one hour: Again - no need to edit unless Sjiggie sees the need. |
| Rauul08-28-07, 08:38 AM | I would appreciate an edit to correct the rolling order. | TelinArtho08-28-07, 09:52 AM | Edited... changed at the end rd 11.. dice roller should be correct now.. or close to it.. One more thing. In the attacks in round 4 - I only see one attack for the claws. There should be a Sting, 2 Claws and a bite. Since my opponent is reduced to 4 hp there - that's a pretty significant roll to include there - especially when the next attack roll indicates a hit. |

Since my opponent is reduced to 4 hp there - that's a pretty significant roll to include there - especially when the next attack roll indicates a hit. If we're going to do a bunch of re-edits, you might as well put in some attack rolls for the camel's Defend trick as well. Also note that Pander can do a 5' step that cuts diagonally through the camel's space (since it's an ally) but the formian can't; that might give him cover in one of those rounds (although it's a fairly specific thing that I didn't mention in my tactics). |
| TelinArtho08-28-07, 10:31 AM | Actually - the formian can take a 5ft step diagonally next to an opponent. He can't take a diagonal step past the corner of an obstacle - but an opponent is fine. And all I'm looking for is the full number of attacks given by a full attack. I'm not looking for something that shouldn't be given to me - or even something that is outside of tactics. I have no problem with putting in attacks for the defend trick once the formian makes his first attack - I even stated I expected as much in my tactics. |

Telin, I realise it's hard to read emotions over the internet, but you seem to be coming off as a little grouchy lately (with criticisms this fight and with the Asran fight). I don't have any problem about giving a monster every attack it has coming either, but frankly I find trolling through the dice roller and telling the Pitlord "roll #75632 should apply to attack X, not attack Y!" quite lame. (Not that I wouldn't do it myself -- I usually do three lame things before breakfast. :)) |

(Not that I wouldn't do it myself -- I usually do three lame things before breakfast. :)) Whether I am vocal about it or not - I tend to look at the roller heavily for fights I am involved in. Often - there's nothing to be said about it. When I see something like what I saw (a roll placed very much out of order) - especially when it is a fight-deciding roll - I have to question it. One of the benefits of the CoCo roller was being able to curb suspicions about pitlords "fixing" fights which was nearly impossible with the interface of invisible castle and completely impossible with rolling offline. I do apologize if I seemed grouchy lately. Perhaps I have been - but I certainly did not mean to be. I have been asking for a bit of a lighter load on pitlording and such, but so far, not enough people have stepped up to take the reigns in order to give me that break, and with two quests behind schedule, I am certainly feeling the pressure. If I am grouchy - it is because of those two factors more than anything else. I will say that I have been more dilligent with the Denth fights than with my own characters because I want to see the event have an effect on the community. Anyway - I'll try to be a little more sensitive and dilligent about my words. Can't hurt to be a little more self-aware at the very least. |

| Zevox08-28-07, 12:33 PM | Zevox, I must protest. Rennae has Boost Construct, giving the construct two abilities. This was pointed out after the match, but wouldn't change it. She was manifesting from a powerstone at ML 3, so it's a level two construct. Powerstone? You just asked to manifest an astral construct, you didn't say it was from a powerstone. In any event, thats irrelevant ultimately - it would only raise its attack modifier by +1, which wouldn't cause any hits. And why did she waste her nuke on the summoned mephit? That's just plain annoying. Because you couldn't tell them apart. I rolled which one to target randomly, and you rolled low, hence you got the summoned one as your first target. Another aside. What happened to the 1/3 rule? Rennae has 7 pp left for two fights at the moment. I'm aware that this probably won't change the outcome, but I'm annoyed nonetheless. Two fights? According to your sheet, you had 11 pp for this fight. I figured that meant you were on fight 2 or 3. Looking into this further, it would appear you forgot to remove that note from your pp from your last cycle. Very annoying. Well, I can edit it briefly to switch those shards after the second into electric rays from your dorje, so it doesn't mess with your cycle. Zevox |

Sell off my halbred temporarily to do so. @Vathelokai & dr.funk I'm finishing your fight up right now. When they got close the summoned mephit was flying over the middle of the water. It could have based you anywhere except for perhaps if you cornered yourself in your start position, but then we would reach the same situation. In round 3, if you moved south the summoned mephit would still have based you. The map is not big enough to play keep away on, with equal speeds. Also as stated above for another fight, there is no way to tell the mephits apart, so while you know you got a lucky break, Diana does not. |
| Zevox08-28-07, 02:00 PM | @ Everyone - Well, its fast dawning on me that I don't have time to run both of my fights today. I have to work this evening, and getting equipment and tactics for the Bralanis in Lorian's fight is taking longer than I thought. I should still be able to finish that, but it'll almost certainly be late and done tonight. So, if anyone could pick up Elric's monster fight, I'd appreciate it. Tactics and the monster below. Tactics for elrick general notes 1)always ride for cover (I auto succeed with that) so my touch AC is always 18. 2)Fang is an Elite dire wolf with Combat riding (and hence armor). 4)all my summons are augmented - +4 str/con and all have 0% hit chance on their dmg dealing abilites (magic/sup abilites vs incorporeal subtype) setup Well I narrowed it down to 5 or 6 options the hardest of the bunch are probably the 3 Chain devils but I think there is a good chance it's the 3 rangers/horizon walkers since they have the best Ranged weapons of the Bunch and I can fly (with Grimlock anyway). Anyway- start mounted on Grimlock on back of squere – fang in front of me - R1- Barkskin from memory (shared), order GRimlock to heel R2- Call lightening from memory, rise 40 feet (double move) R3- I should be able to see them (probably) if not goo look for them Clockwise- have fang follow. When I see them – if they look Human – (i.e. the rangers or the rogues) lose Flame strike for 1d3- Augmanted dire wolves, if the have MANY MANY chains – lose wall of thorns for 1d3 Augmanted unicorns. Round after that do animal growth on Fang/otherwolves/unicorns/Grimlock – Send all allies to attack.- get to max height and avoid pillers or whatever they can climb and jump on me. When allies are already near enemies use entangle from memory – allies are pretty likely to pass the save when enlarged and enemies either less likely or will really hurt them if they don’t (the rangers). If call lightening don’t affect someone (SR) – go for another target. Afterwards use call lightening to blast them. EXEPTION – if they are all concentration on me and have some very effective ranged power/spell/attack etc I didn’t predict use potion of invisibility and let summons/allies do the work – heal in meantime. If still aren’t dead afterwards do produce flame from memory and shoot, if defeated by Energy resistence (hit, scorch but leave skin unhurt) go for Sonic wand, then Cold, acid etc scroll if defeated by SR (hits and disappears completely) – reuse, recal from POP if needed. NOTE – order allies to concentrate on 1 (or 2) targets if possible. IF they are devils – I don’t have anything that can defeath their Regeneration so have an ally CDG – I assume taking off their head is enough for purpose of defeat. contingencies 1)if I get to 25 HP or less cast obscuring mist fro memory use CLW wand to heal up to 50+ - shared healing with grimlock – move in mist to avoid spot and the regular concealment keep it at full concealment please. EXEPTION – if I still have 1 or more unicorns up – have it heal me suing CMWs and CLWS and continue my own regular tactics. 2)order all allies to flank if possible 3)if I cant avoid melee have grimlock attack also. 4)if I get consistently by any energy type use ressit energy wand. 5)use appropriate expndbles spells to counter monster abilites I cant think about (energy dmg- lesser restotation etc etc) – all expendbles/spells free. 6)if all else fails wildshape to polar bear and melee, improved grab, eat for lunch. (note the animated shield and barkskin stays). Have fun. 3 Xills. Zevox |

Xill need 2 rounds to go ethereal so it should give me plenty of time - and iam really not strong on planes thing But can they even COme back in mid air? wont they simply fall to the ground? also to get me in gapple they would need to risk coming back in mid air- hit me with the first hit (in which they need 20) if using the improved grab unless i get paralized i can just windshape and grapple better then they do - Not saying it aint possible But pretty damn unlikely. |

| Eamane08-28-07, 06:38 PM | To add to the list of fights that need running, I suspect Ralein Dreamstriker (Callix) vs. Xuan Sunai (Eamane): ECL 3 is need of it as well; Nam hasn't started rolling in the Dice Roller session he set up.. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if not the post (with sheets and tactics) is here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13536464&postcount=1246). I know it is a small map but still waiting around to get killed in melee combat isn't what I asked for and if that means cornering myself into my starting square to get an extra round of archery in maybe that is what my tactics say. Also in my tactics their is also the line that says to refocus when the mount double moves. I know I didn't write clear tactics but still I don't believe you did me any favor that fight. Sorry if this sounds bad I don't mean it that way. If you don't want to edit it I take the loss but if you could give it a second look than please do so. I would appreciate it. Thanks Sjiggie |
| Erithmu08-28-07, 08:32 PM | @sjiggie: Believe me I am rooting for you ... we here at the CoCo are united in beating down Telin's armies. Looking at the roller, I'm not sure what one more round is going to do for you. I honestly was hoping for a confirmed crit on that 2nd arrow shot. I also unfortunately don't have time to look at an edit before the deadline. The other part as telin pointed out is that there will be another full attack and BW from the summoned mephit due to it's longer duration. I'm not sure you will live the rounds to get the extra dice rolled after that comes into play. Probably will lose your horse as well since the BWs all get moved up. If you really really want an edit, PM me, but I just don't see it happening. |

Btw: if you change the outcome of your arrow recovery rolls to 2=recovered, then you can just do Nd2-N to immediately get the number of recovered arrows (like 17d2-17 for krusk in this fight), saves time counting ones ;-) |

Uhm, it may be pushed, but wasn't there any way to enter melee ? Izin was 10 feets high on his dire bat. A good jump check (made at +11) could had put Yakov within reach of either Inzin or his bat. Oh well, I should read about every spells the opponent has before writing the tactics. Especially to use the freaking wand to heal that orc. |

| Sjiggie08-29-07, 10:54 AM | @sjiggie: Believe me I am rooting for you ... we here at the CoCo are united in beating down Telin's armies. Nah forget about it thanks for the run. Next time I must pay a little more attention to my opponent and write some tactics when I'm fully rested. -Sjiggie |

| Erithmu08-29-07, 11:08 AM | I'll remember the day that the only person available at the CEF is Valkin or Berri to intercept a Denth monster ... "Stick it to The Man!" "But Sir ... you are The Man." ... ... "I know ...." *starts crying* |
| TelinArtho08-29-07, 11:13 AM | Actually - if that were to happen, I'd have Zevox roll the monster and write the tactics. I don't expect it will happen though - since CEF has been doing better about having a few more active members. And Berri... well - she'd be better off letting the guardian defend (or just letting the attack go through...). She has no chance against ANY of the things on my list... |
| templer1008-29-07, 11:57 AM | HEy since us unguilded cant help defend vs Denth - dont suppose i can join Denth's armies ha? getting a little lonely fighting all those monsters need SOMETHING more productive to do so i might have some fun doing some property dmg. p.s. - iam kidding. p.s.s - Probably :D |

Denth is attacking the city.. not just the guilds... I would think that if a nonguilded member wanted to intercept a denth fight it would give them some reputation with the guild and the city... Would like to know cause to be honest was thinking of sending Gortek on Intercept missions even thou WAR don't have room for him.... and he is good aligned could even Intercept for CEF and the rest.. |
| hogarth08-29-07, 12:23 PM | edited, added Cud attacks.. gave the Warrior his second claw attack.. outcome changed.. Sorry pander.. i gave up on remaping towards the end... got fustrated with the maper going down and not loading for me.. as well as the dice roller... But you get the picture i hope from the fight... Thanks a lot for your efforts on this fight, Rauul! I really appreciate it. |

Actually, only guild members can defend, because you need a guild that uses one CAP to send you. And guilds can only send their own members to send someone to intercept. |

CAP = Credit correct basicly... So if a non guild member wanted to spend a credit and attack a denth.. Telin could still make the monster correct? |
| Rauul08-29-07, 12:46 PM | Thanks a lot for your efforts on this fight, Rauul! I really appreciate it. Well i tried to please both, and follow your tactics and his.. can't please everyone.. and yes I am taking the Denth attacks serious... First real Global RP event we have had thats not just Guild orientated.. |
| TelinArtho08-29-07, 01:01 PM | CAP = Credit correct basicly... So if a non guild member wanted to spend a credit and attack a denth.. Telin could still make the monster correct? I'm reluctant to allow that. First off - I have a limited number of monsters on my list. Secondly, this essentially gives 1 character/fight conditions - meaning the Denth attacks are "taxing" our pitlords because of the extra fights generated by them (for instance - 4 players are intercepting this week. That means that, in ideal situations, there's 2 extra fights). Plus - the side benefit here is to get people roleplaying in the guild threads. If you want to participate in guild events like this - I heartily recommend getting into a guild. |

WAR has no room.. and i really don't think any other guild fits with a Drunken Dwarf Barbarian... who is Essentially a Meleer |
| MindWandererB08-29-07, 03:15 PM | The next time there's an event like the Denth attack, the Community system will be up, so anyone should be able to participate. |
| TheMagister08-29-07, 08:28 PM | @Rauul - WAR's workin' on rooms as fast as it can! I demo'd a laboratory this week, and next week I'll build a Basic Room to make more room. It's not like we don't want a stinky dwarf barbarian around. :shifty: |
