| Tellish_of_Ket03-21-07, 01:00 PM | Fights of the Week: March 21st Please don't edit the sheet after the deadline or you will lose the match. Rules of Gladius All that you need to know is written in the Rules of Gladius. It could be useful also to give a look to the Court Decisions Part 1 and Part 2. Please do not make fake accounts or insult the Elders. Pairings GM Caterane will pair the active Characters of Gladius after the deadline. Make sure that your character is not in prison (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=571107&goto=lastpost). Pitlording You should use the CoCo Dice Roller (http://www.hwx.it/wizards.com) for the fight. If you need it, there is a nice template ready to use that will help. You could find the Battle Map Tag Generator (http://www.hwx.it/coco) for dynamic Maps very useful. You must post a link to your fight in this thread when it is complete. If you need a quick and dirty tool to calculate distances between two points (in 2-D or 3-D), this tool (http://wormhole.ath.cx/coco/coco_dist.php) should suffice. Another useful link is the Quick Access tables for XP and Gold. If a fight needs to be rerun, the Pitlord has to inform the Pitlords account. He cannot react to requests from Players because the other player and the pitlord might disagree. He has no time to read the fight and the discussion. Please keep that in mind. PMs from players with rerun requests won't have an impact. Recent News and Developments The Iron Man (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=790318) tournament Round 2 is scheduled to start Next Week! Comments & Concerns Post any comments or concerns for this weeks fights in this thread. Be kind and courteous to your fellow posters, and don't feed the pitlords. Please remember that they do hard work and consume a lot of time to let you play. Above all, have FUN! If you have questions or comments on any of the changes, please make your posts be heard in the Council of Gladius! |
| Tellish_of_Ket03-21-07, 03:37 PM | Those with darkwood violations, you still have 30 minutes to find the gold to use those underpriced bows you had if you don't currently have the cash and need to sell stuff off. ToK |
| MindWandererB03-21-07, 03:48 PM | Actually, ToK, Iron Man Round 2 isn't scheduled to start until next week. |
| Tellish_of_Ket03-21-07, 04:04 PM | Actually, ToK, Iron Man Round 2 isn't scheduled to start until next week. Edited. |
| SauroGrenom03-21-07, 06:28 PM | Actually, ToK, Iron Man Round 2 isn't scheduled to start until next week. That's such a bummer too. You know, there's not much reason to delay it further. Only one fight isn't done yet, and none of those finished are still under review. |
| Rauul03-21-07, 06:33 PM | Those with darkwood violations, you still have 30 minutes to find the gold to use those underpriced bows you had if you don't currently have the cash and need to sell stuff off. ToK this was at 3pm.. it's now 6:30 pm... times up... and well it waiting time now... |
| Tellish_of_Ket03-21-07, 06:53 PM | That's such a bummer too. You know, there's not much reason to delay it further. Only one fight isn't done yet, and none of those finished are still under review. I agree. It's going to be a quiet week in the CoCo this week. ToK |
| NiQil03-21-07, 08:37 PM | So what happened with normal pairings? As far as I know, they weren't on the 2 wk cycle....and they are normally up by the time I get home. I didn't see any posts from Cat saying they would be delayed....anyone have any info? |
| Erithmu03-21-07, 08:46 PM | http://www.caterane.de/CoCo/Mitglieder/CoCo-Caterane2.jpg Last seen wandering around Germany, If you see him please tell him the CoCo is looking for him and Right Said Fred thinks the shirt is not sexy enough. |

I didn't see any posts from Cat saying they would be delayed....anyone have any info? No, nothing. Cat probably had an emergency--he hasn't logged in to his account in 18 hours. If we don't hear from him by the normal deadline tomorrow, I'll go ahead and do the pairings. |

| Tellish_of_Ket03-22-07, 04:16 AM | May I ask what the rules are for 3d? unh.... L, W, H ? ToK |
| templer1003-22-07, 04:30 AM | just wondering - when is the deadline for pairings to be done that after that 1 of the elders will do it? |
| Abyssal Stalker03-22-07, 08:09 AM | I see that the pairings have been rolled, but it looks like Jonathon isn't paired allthough active. I would really like to see him paires so that I can finish the 3FC before next week's operation! He is ECL10, but I didn't know that he wouldn't get paired because of the IMT. |

I am only pitlording 1 fight this week so iam free for all comers to pitlords stuff - get approval from somebody and ill do random monster for you. on another note - in the templer map - is the lava pool around the central statue 1 or 2 squares on each side? (not clear from map) oh- and if u fall from the central statue in the temple- u fall into the lava? |
| hogarth03-22-07, 08:56 AM | @Vathelokai: tactics sent for Balthazar Picsou |
| Macbrea03-22-07, 08:58 AM | @sonofzeal: Lar's Tactics have been sent. @Mcjarvis: Heh... Razorfang's tactics have been sent vs unknown monster on open plains. |
| Rauul03-22-07, 09:18 AM | @ SauroGrenom.. Unlucky Shadows tactics Sent.. @Sjiggie.. Pm sent about the Miniquest |
| Etiquette_Gnome03-22-07, 10:56 AM | I'm attempting to send a PM for Sabra's tactics to Tellish of Ket, but the system has informed me that there is no such user? |
| hogarth03-22-07, 11:01 AM | I'm attempting to send a PM for Sabra's tactics to Tellish of Ket, but the system has informed me that there is no such user? Did you try Tellish_of_Ket? |
| waywreth03-22-07, 11:07 AM | It's Tellish_of_Ket not Tellish of Ket. Edit: Damn your fast typing Hogarth! |
| McJarvis03-22-07, 11:27 AM | @Mcjarvis: Heh... Razorfang's tactics have been sent vs unknown monster on open plains. Beautiful tactics, I must say :) |
| Macbrea03-22-07, 11:36 AM | Well.. not exactly sure even knowing what the monster is would help anyways. |
| Yitzi03-22-07, 12:32 PM | unh.... L, W, H ? ToK What I meant was...I know the rules for calculating distaances in 2d: diagonals alternate as 1 and 2 squares. How do 3-way diagonals (such as 0,0,0 to 1,1,1) work? As far as I can tell, it alternates between 1 and 3 squares per diagonal, but that makes no sense. (0,0,0) to (1,1,1) is 5', (1,1,1) to (2,2,2) is 5 feet, and (0,0,0) to (2,2,2) is 20'. That just doesn't make sense. So what is it doing? |
| Macbrea03-22-07, 12:59 PM | It's not horridly off. sqrt(2^2 + 2^2) = 2.82 squares or 14.1 feet per 2 squares diagnally. sqrt(2.82^2 + 2^2) = 3.45 squares or 17.25 ft per 2 squares diagnally. And technically, by DND math. that works out to: sqrt( 3^2 + 2^2) = 3.6 squares = 4 squares |
| Macbrea03-22-07, 01:09 PM | And the way the calculator, I think is working is as follows. Point 1 = 12,15,4 Point 2 = 10,14,2 A = 12 - 10 B = 15 - 14 C = 4 - 2 if (A >= B) { ground_ab = (A * 5) + (rounddown(B/2) * 5)) } else { ground_ab = (B * 5) + (rounddown(A/2) *5)) } # this gives ground AB = 15ft diagnal_abc = (ground_ab) + (rounddown(c/2) * 5) # this gives diagnal distance = 20ft It is alittle more detailed but that is the general gist of it. So, 0,0,0 -> 1,1,1 = A = 1 B = 1 C = 1 Ground_AB = 1 + rounddown(1/2) = 1 Diagnal_ab = ground_ab (1) + rounddown(1/2) = 1 square or 5ft 0,0,0 -> 2,2,2 is A = 2 B = 2 C = 2 Ground_AB = 2 + rounddown(2/2) = 3 Diagnal_ab = ground_ab (3) + rounddown(2/2) = 4 squares or 20ft It's a dnd math thing. |
| templer1003-22-07, 01:30 PM | Themagister - tactics for harbinger VS truls ruhl sent - it got a little longish (as in 2 parts)- sorry :). |
| MindWandererB03-22-07, 02:52 PM | @TheMagister: Rubicanti's monster setup is up. You are facing a Medium biped and 2 Medium thingies. Which is probably enough to give it away, actually, but meh. |
| Zevox03-22-07, 02:56 PM | @ Horatius - Tactics for Mithos Durrol (vs Qwogi) PMed. Zevox |

| Tellish_of_Ket03-22-07, 03:59 PM | Any word from Cat yet? |
| TheMagister03-22-07, 04:46 PM | @MWB - tactics for Rubi vs. the MoD squad sent. Monks suck at monster fights. @Templer10 (sp?) - McJarvis and I are working on tactics. I won't be able to get a really good set to you until Friday night at around 10pm (US Central) when I get things settled down at work. Think you could loan me a few hours past the normal Friday deadline? Please? @My Gladiators - TaggIV - burglary announcement received. Everyone Else - You've got until Saturday night to get your tactics in. Say around Saturday at 9pm (US Central). I've received some tactics already and I think it's enough for a fight (Truls vs. Harbinger). I'll run that one Friday night. TM |

| TaggIIV03-22-07, 06:50 PM | Tactics for Koric sent. :( ^ We will see... |
| MindWandererB03-22-07, 07:07 PM | @Macbrea: Tactics against Ikhain have been sent. @Erithmu: Usernamer's Ponzi isn't actually set to ready, he wanted a re-run, and Rauul is giving it to him. So Maya is going to need a re-pairing, probably either against a monster or against Razorfang. |
| TaggIIV03-22-07, 07:59 PM | Tactics for Nyphanalith sent to templer. |
| Eluria03-22-07, 09:07 PM | @Horatius: Tactics sent for Qwogi vs Mithos @Sauro: Tactics sent for Mohmat vs. TheShadow |

Arden Tarmik (Zevox) vs. Gundmir Guldesdep (False_Keraptis) : [Forest] (and thats just finishing it up and correcting mistakes) |
| MindWandererB03-22-07, 09:55 PM | I am?... is lost now.. Only hold over fight i am working on that i know of is... Arden Tarmik (Zevox) vs. Gundmir Guldesdep (False_Keraptis) : [Forest] (and thats just finishing it up and correcting mistakes)Aargh, never mind, I'm confused. I'll check back again on the situation tomorrow morning; if Maya's still on the roster as fighting Ponzi, I'll go ahead and write tactics just in case. It'll be a slaughter, though, since he hasn't done his level. In other news, Rubicanti's monster fight is done. I found a new reason to hate monster fights--you have to improvise almost by definition when the player doesn't know what the monster is. As a result, I'm not 100% sure I did exactly the right thing, but I think it's pretty close. |
| hogarth03-22-07, 10:07 PM | @Zevox: your miniquest thread is up now. |

Whew, good. I was contemplating PMing that to make sure you got it, since that thread was falling off the first page here fast. Zevox |

| Vathelokai03-23-07, 12:58 AM | Anastria Korrik (Sjiggie) vs. Balthazar Picsou (hogarth) : Vathelokai [Arena]... right over here. Some suprises in this one. That was quite refreshing after that 140 round archer contest. |
| hogarth03-23-07, 06:51 AM | Anastria Korrik (Sjiggie) vs. Balthazar Picsou (hogarth) : Vathelokai [Arena]... right over here. Some suprises in this one. Looking at the dice roller, I fail to see how rolling a 14 is a successful DC 20 Fort save. Is one of the rolls mis-labeled? |

| hogarth03-23-07, 08:12 AM | Next time Balthazar should use his bardic music before trying a coup de grace -- I keep forgetting to put that in his tactics. EDIT: A mere 7 xp away from a new level: so close, and yet so far... |
| waywreth03-23-07, 09:05 AM | @Maraxus: Tactics for Matthis III vs. Tyden Rayn sent via PM (yesterday actually, but I forgot to post as such). |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:36 AM | Next time Balthazar should use his bardic music before trying a coup de grace -- I keep forgetting to put that in his tactics. EDIT: A mere 7 xp away from a new level: so close, and yet so far... damn blathazar could have leveled and given a whole new league free xp. |
| waywreth03-23-07, 09:39 AM | damn blathazar could have leveled and given a whole new league free xp. Balthazar managed to actually win that one. And his record is about as good as Matthis's record, who's built trying to win rather than just "participate". Then again wizards aren't so good at lower levels. |
| Abyssal Stalker03-23-07, 09:40 AM | damn blathazar could have leveled and given a whole new league free xp. Does Balthazar now get the "Failure" tag since he won? ;) |
| hogarth03-23-07, 09:48 AM | Balthazar managed to actually win that one. And his record is about as good as Matthis's record, who's built trying to win rather than just "participate". Then again wizards aren't so good at lower levels. Balthazar is making a good faith effort (sort of) to try and win his battles. Unfortunately, his bag of tricks only has one trick in it currently (Sleep) and that one doesn't even work against elves. |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:49 AM | Balthazar managed to actually win that one. And his record is about as good as Matthis's record, who's built trying to win rather than just "participate". | Macbrea03-23-07, 10:00 AM | Man.. am bored senseless at work.. hey, abyssal stalker.. send me tactics! |
| UserNamer03-23-07, 11:03 AM | @Rauul: Tactics sent. |
| Horatius03-23-07, 11:33 AM | @Horatius: Tactics sent for Qwogi vs Mithos @ Horatius - Tactics for Mithos Durrol (vs Qwogi) PMed. Got both, and don't see any problems (yet!) - I'm away from home but will try to get the fight done tomorrow or Sunday. |
| Erithmu03-23-07, 11:38 AM | All my tactics are out. @Cat/Pitlords: Loddick is crafting this week as mentioned in PM |
| MindWandererB03-23-07, 01:50 PM | @Erithmu/Usernamer: I know sonofzeal is still working on last week's fight, but I still see the Ponzi/Maya fight on the roster, and the tactics deadline is in a couple of hours. I'm going to go ahead and write those tactics just to cover my bases, but I'm still in agreement with Usernamer that Maya should probably be getting a monster fight instead (if not a matchup with Razorfang instead). |
| UserNamer03-23-07, 02:21 PM | @Erithmu: I can't send any tactics, becouse my character still isn't upgraded. |
| Yitzi03-23-07, 02:26 PM | if (A >= B) { ground_ab = (A * 5) + (rounddown(B/2) * 5)) } else { ground_ab = (B * 5) + (rounddown(A/2) *5)) } # this gives ground AB = 15ft diagnal_abc = (ground_ab) + (rounddown(c/2) * 5) # this gives diagnal distance = 20ft It is alittle more detailed but that is the general gist of it. Thank you, although from looking at cases where C is the largest of the 3, it actually looks like it's diagnal_abc = (A * 5) + (rounddown(B/2) * 5)) + (rounddown(c/2) * 5) when A is the largest of the 3, correspondingly for B or C being largest. I think it could be improved, though, I'll post it in the tavern. |
| Yitzi03-23-07, 02:30 PM | Tactics for Lightwolf sent. |
| Macbrea03-23-07, 02:31 PM | The actual calculator was written by Mal-2. It takes into effect that A > B > C. If not it reorders them in such a fashion that that is true. My example, was only to explain the basic rules of determining it. |
| Erithmu03-23-07, 02:34 PM | Ok ... Maya vs Ponzi Ponzi (even w/ a win) does not level to ECL 5 ... Additionally if the fight was still under consideration, I don't think that Usernamer should have set Ponzi to ready for the 21st ... @MWB: Maya will be getting a monster fight, tactics due (at the latest) by Sunday late. Setting up the Monster fight now |

Setting up the Monster fight now Yeah, Usernamer definitely shouldn't have edited the sheet at all. But he would have levelled, even with a loss--he's only 300 XP short. But a monster is better for all involved. I'm just as happy--Ponzi is actually a pretty tough customer, even at an ECL short. |

As a result, I'm not 100% sure I did exactly the right thing, but I think it's pretty close. I have no problem with how you ran Rubi (well, I think the 5' steps could've been better adjudicated, but I don't think it would've mattered). I think the Janni's damage is off, though. The janni has a 22 str (16+bull's+enlarge) for a +6 mod to hit/damage. The janni deals 2d8+9 with his glaive. How do you get (8+8+7+7)+48 on a dive? Should be 4d8+36 by my math. Could you recalculate that? Also, the Janni's to-hit with the glaive should be +12 with bull's going, not +10 (not in my favor, but I wouldn't want you to notice this later). Ah, I see you added that in as a temporary modifier (as you should). Nevermind. If the Janni decides to reduce himself (after being enlarged), he goes back to medium size. Just a thought. Thanks for the quick run! @Templer10 - got some stuff to iron out at work. Will work on tactics asap. |
| MindWandererB03-23-07, 08:01 PM | How do you get (8+8+7+7)+48 on a dive? Should be 4d8+36 by my math. Could you recalculate that?Typo. It was [8+8+7+7]+18=48. And it would probably dismiss the Enlarge before using Reduce. |

| NiQil03-23-07, 09:03 PM | men- iam stupid - just realized from reading niqil tactics aagainst harbi that the temple map central area is LOWER then the starting positions not higher lol. @ templer10: I wanted to make sure you saw this, as you are highly dependant on tripping... Q: Does the Combat Expertise>Improved Trip>Knockdown feat chain allow you to perform an attack>trip>attack combo? A: No. As Knockdown provides a free trip after a standard action, you do not have a standard action to give up at that point to perform the trip action required to receive the free attack that Improved Trip provides. You may already be aware of that....but reading your tactics made me think of it, so there ya go. |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:11 PM | @ templer10: I wanted to make sure you saw this, as you are highly dependant on tripping... You may already be aware of that....but reading your tactics made me think of it, so there ya go. hmm- wasnt aware- so what's the point of the knock down feat? only in situations you didnt start with tripping them? that only happen really if your fighting a monk and there is no diffrence (almost) in the touch and regular AC. althrough given that not every tripper has my stupidly high trip modifier even before i expand. |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:14 PM | btw- you know the conditions needed to trip as a result from improved trip and the conditions needed to trip as a result from knockdown are diffrent- knockdown by the SRD doesnt say anything about kind of attack you need to do in order for it to happen. |
| NiQil03-23-07, 09:28 PM | btw- you know the conditions needed to trip as a result from improved trip and the conditions needed to trip as a result from knockdown are diffrent- knockdown by the SRD doesnt say anything about kind of attack you need to do in order for it to happen. The problem arises from the issue that if you have used your standard action to make a melee attack, and get your 10 damage, then you make your free trip. Using Improved Trip requires a touch attack to start the trip, but at this point you have already used your standard action for the round so can't use the feat. The trip attack gained from knockdown does not require the touch attack...only the opposed rolls to attempt the trip. |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:34 PM | @ You may already be aware of that....but reading your tactics made me think of it, so there ya go. if talking about tactics- what make you think you can avoid me on that littleish platform? all i have to do is expand and then the cover need to e calculated from any point in my space most advantagous to me combined with 35 move... anyway- where did you see cover blocks attacks? cover gives bonus to AC but you can still attack with it- you are correct in that if you have cover related to your opponent he doesnt get AoA but reguler attacks he can do. and you have to tumble all the time to get behind cover avoid me with a 45% chance to fail. i think it's going to come down to who the dice gods favor. |
| templer1003-23-07, 09:36 PM | The problem arises from the issue that if you have used your standard action to make a melee attack, and get your 10 damage, then you make your free trip. Using Improved Trip requires a touch attack to start the trip, but at this point you have already used your standard action for the round so can't use the feat. The trip attack gained from knockdown does not require the touch attack...only the opposed rolls to attempt the trip. so iam right- assuming for now - you are tripped as a result of an attack with improved trip- you try to get up- get hit with AoA- that does 10 dmg- and boom u get tripped again from the knockdown - is that correct? |
| NiQil03-23-07, 09:38 PM | so iam right- assuming for now - you are tripped as a result of an attack with improved trip- you try to get up- get hit with AoA- that does 10 dmg- and boom u get tripped again from the knockdown - is that correct? No, because when the AoO occurs, the opponent is still prone, since the AoO occurs before the action that triggers it. That means that you deal your 10 damage to a prone opponent. How do you plan on knocking someone prone with the Knock-Down feat who is already prone? In short, Knock-Down and Improved Trip were not designed to be used together....they are opposites of each other, and designed to be mirrors of each other. |

In short, Knock-Down and Improved Trip were not designed to be used together....they are opposites of each other, and designed to be mirrors of each other. hmm iam seeing knockdown as less and less usefull - becuase when doing reguler AoA when opponent is on his feet- you can attempt to trip using that AoA- btw that ruling in the court- mind telling where tha came from? bceause You dont actually need a standart action to make trip attempts all you need per the SRD is an attack and as you know there are plenty of situations in which you get an additional attack but not an additional standart action (haste being the main one). |
| TheMagister03-23-07, 10:49 PM | Oh, they're useful each in their own right, and not entirely uncomplimentary. Keeping your opponent in range to be melee'd is always a good thing for a melee build. @Templer10 - tactics for TBD vs. Nyph sent in two parts. I hope you like long tactics. Seems like the last two sets I've written have taken FOREVER. The longer I'm here, the more complete they become. I'm not sure that's a good thing... I'm off to run Truls vs. Harbinger! TM |
| MindWandererB03-24-07, 12:11 AM | Knock-down can be very handy when your opponent is hard to trip (high Dex/Str, stability, size...), but you're good at tripping and do high damage. That way, you can attack for damage, and if you hit, you have a chance at a trip, whereas if you try to trip first and the opponent resists it, then you get nowhere (and can even be counter-tripped). It can be a great bonus in a melee alpha-strike build. |
| TheMagister03-24-07, 12:43 AM | Truls Rohk vs. Harbinger is finished rather...abruptly, I could say. Looks like Rubicanti isn't the only one on the receiving end of near-max damage this week. TM |

| Tellish_of_Ket03-24-07, 02:46 AM | @ToK: Tactics sent for Tueor You said "nearly late" hehe...hate to break it to ya, but there are late. I was just at the theatre with the wifey watching a double bill....so it didn't really matter. lol You must send tactics till Friday 9 PM GMT It is currently about 6:45am Saturday GMT as i write this....soooooooo that's almost 10 hrs late. Meh, i was at the theatre and i'm home all weekend. Plus you had default tactics, so it's not like u risked losing for no tactics. ToK |

| templer1003-24-07, 03:30 AM | Yeah, I'm sorry about that (I'm secretly thrilled: I wasn't looking forward to adjudicating the statue). On a not-much-lighter note: is there anything confusing about those Battlesong tactics, T10? TM i got them- read them once- will get to it later today or tommarow- sorry i really dont buy your interpretation to what you can or cant wildshape 2. First- the rules of gladius on similar subject - polymorph say - "# Knowledge: You must have an (appropriate) total Knowledge score equal to twice the HD of the monster you want to polymorph in. This also applies to Alter Self, Polymorph any Object, Shapechange, and Metamorphosis." even if he did nymp has enough knowladge (nature) to wildshape into that dino. third- even if he didnt have the knowldge- it's not defined what kind of knowladge you need to be able to wildshape into that something but gladius has more or less everything so i think it's plenty enough. on another note- any chance to see the battle of lord lorian vs kovic soon since if he wins he levels up and that's always a headache. |
| TheMagister03-24-07, 03:33 AM | The dino is large, and he can't do large forms just yet (regardless of his ranks in knowledge). As for the Koric/Lorian fight, it'll be up tomorrow night (US Central). TM |

| templer1003-24-07, 03:58 AM | question- does concatraing on a spell (after it has been cast) count as spellcasting for pupose of a ready action to intterup spellcasting? becuase i can see 2 sides to it - 1 that it is becuase concatrating on a spell is somewhat similar and also provokes AOA. 2)concatrating on a spell is basicly mental it doesnt require any of the motions, words etc that usually follow spellcasting so it's diffrent enough to not be considered spellcasting - is there any ruling on this because personally iam leaning towards the second choice or at best giving the readier a spellcrfat check if he notices the concatration and associate it with spellcasting. also- do a team (party) start in the same start square? |
| TheMagister03-24-07, 04:06 AM | He's referring to the concentration made to call a lightning stroke from a pre-cast Call Lightning spell. (I figure if you can ready an action to disrupt manifesting [with the only visible sign being "Even if the manifester manifests a power without a display, he is still subject to attacks of opportunity in appropriate circumstances. His faraway gaze, the focus on something other than the material world, and the split-second of focus required to manifest a power distract the manifester's attention sufficiently to warrant the attack.") then you can ready an action to disrupt concentration on a spell (which is basically the same thing). And for parties: Character Party Rules Here are the rules and some clarifications on how parties are handled. Characters can always lend items to their team mates. These must be listed in a special section on the sheet and the item still belongs to its owner. Although each character retains his own gold pool, it is possible to craft items for your teammates. The crafter uses up the Free or Full Activity to craft the item, but the gold is deducted from the character that receives the item. Allies are handled individually. You may lend your ally to a team mate (like riding a horse). Ally caps are applied to the individual character; ie each character still has his own maxCA. Ally penalties to rewards, however, are deducted from the party as a whole. It is allowed to cast prebuffs on your team mates. Every character in a party counts as one activation. A party always starts in the same starting box. TM |
| Abyssal Stalker03-24-07, 04:09 AM | Ikhain vs Gakhnalak is done. Yeah, I figured it would go that way. Thanks for the run, anyway. |

TM iam not saying you cant- iam just saying you can either ready to disrupt spellcasting or ready to disrupt concatrating on an active spell it's not the same thing - basicly you can watch out for either said faraway gaze or the active spellcasting. |
| TheMagister03-24-07, 04:49 AM | And that's where it gets fuzzy. For a character with next to no knowledge of spellcasting and its ins-and-outs, darned near anything that isn't easily recognizable as moving and fighting could be spellcasting. When the druid stops actively avoiding blows and his eyes go all far away, that is what I want to trigger the readied action. TM |

This also applies to Alter Self, Polymorph any Object, Shapechange, and Metamorphosis." Just as a note, you do not need a knowledge score to Wildshape. You'll note its not among the list of things that rule applies to (and with recent erratas no longer references Polymorph for its rules). It was deliberately left out of that rule since its a class feature we did not want to restrict Druids from accessing, and since it would mean they'd need knowledge (the planes), a cross-class skill, to access their elemental shapes later on. I believe I've seen people use that tactic before. And we wouldn't be able to say a thing. Straight Bluff vs. Sense Motive. In other news: If they are outrunning me and it becomes an issue, cast entangle. No entangle in the sewers. See the map description. :( If this becomes the case, go to the ground and wild shape into a deiononychus and charge when possible, using the high speed to my advantage, with Zaqh also attacking. Thanks for pitlording, if anything needs clarification feel free to PM me. No deinonoychus, since it's a large animal and he's still limited to small and medium forms. Begin by casting extended produce flame asap, then once I get within range begin throwing. Stay as close as possible to the max 120' range high in the air, and lob them down. He doesn't seem to realize he's fighting in the sewers. Man, his tactics are pretty broken. You can't get him to write new ones, since you've already posted ours. Bummer for him. TM |
| hogarth03-24-07, 06:51 PM | No deinonoychus, since it's a large animal and he's still limited to small and medium forms. | Tellish_of_Ket03-24-07, 07:43 PM | About the issue to disrupt spellcasting, yes, even an int 3 barbarian can ready to disrupt. Tagg, I didn't go too extensively into yours -- I know you have some prison violations to clean up and I didn't want to screw you up by moving your sheet around too much. Hate to break it to you, but large creatures cannot fly (with wings) in the narrow spaces of the sewer at all. According to our meta-rules: Flight (winged): Creatures with wings need twice their vertical base to pass by an obstacle or fly through a narrow passage. Thats actually supposed to say horizontal base - Cat got the two words mixed up when writing that rule, probably because hes not a native english speaker (others who remember that discussion can back me up on this). But in any event, even if that weren't so, that rule would disallow it. Any large creature occupies a 10' by 10' cube, which is exactly the space in those sewer passages, so any need for additional wingspan spaces means no flying. Sorry man, but unless theres no chance of that affecting the fight's outcome, you do need to redo things. Zevox |

Round 7 vs. AC 18: sure did hit! Dmg: 12. Round 9: Hit, no change. Dmg: 16. Total damage: 28. Koric falls. Well you're right! I hate it when I waste time like that! {Grrr}. I'll edit the rewards and items used. On a good note, this saves Koric a rage use and a couple arrows, I think. Edit's applied! TM oh and btw- i could have taken at least 1 max dmg critical from an arrow- i had collatral hp of 48. share pain is overpowered lol |
| TheMagister03-25-07, 12:19 AM | Man, the TBD fight is really messed up. Most all of the mistakes are in my favor, so I won't ask you to go back in and edit. Thanks for the run! TM |

Why should this week be any different? |
| Zevox03-25-07, 02:41 PM | Aye, its still just sunday, theres two full days until those would be declared late. Thats not terribly unusual, regretfully. Zevox |

Why should this week be any different? ..and that really bothers me. {To no-one in particular} Finishing a fight on Tuesday or even late Monday leaves almost NO time for edits. I have found myself musing that some people do this on purpose just to be able to claim "I don't have time to edit..." in the hopes that their gladiators will just suck up the (often badly erred) run and take the xp because it's better to lose than to gain no xp for the week at all. I'm not sayin' it's true, I'm just sayin' the thought has crossed my MIND. In my VERY humble opinion, if you don't have time to run a fight until Monday, you really shouldn't sign up to run any, much less three. It's more important to me (personally) to do the job right than to just do the job. {end of my impassioned statement} TM |

I don't like last-minute fights any more than the next guy, but: For better or for worse, that's the official deadline. Having a fight held over never killed anyone (although when a fight is held over for 3+ weeks, it's getting a bit ridiculous). Don't forget the CoCo Guarantee: if you're not totally satisfied with the quality of pitlording here, you're entitled to double your money back! ;) |
| TheMagister03-25-07, 07:57 PM | I don't usually complain about the way something works unless I have a better idea of how to run it. You'll notice that I brought this up in a FotW thread and not some official forum; it's just a thing that bothers me is all. Double my money back!? {Now where did I put that receipt...?} :) TM |
| hogarth03-25-07, 09:08 PM | I don't usually complain about the way something works unless I have a better idea of how to run it. The one thing I've found really irritating in the past is when I have complaints about a fight and the pitlord just ignores me until I give up. Grrr... :headexplo Luckily that hasn't happened to me for a while. |
| TelinArtho03-25-07, 11:16 PM | TM - temper your statements with some rationality. Some pitlords have time to run on the weekends. Others only during the week. Since the deadline is late afternoon for EST, for those in the states who only have time during the week - it can often fall that unless tactics are in early, that the fight won't be run until Monday or Tuesday. I mention this because that is exactly my situation. Running fights at home with my (now) 3 kids and wife bouncing around the house is just not going to happen. During the week though - I can usually find the time. Often Thursdays and Fridays are best for me - but I can't do anything until I get tactics. I also tend to give my fighters more time to submit tactics - meaning if I don't get anything until Sunday night it is no big deal - which has come up on more than one occasion. |

| TheMagister03-25-07, 11:33 PM | TM - temper your statements with some rationality. Some pitlords have time to run on the weekends. Others only during the week. Since the deadline is late afternoon for EST, for those in the states who only have time during the week - it can often fall that unless tactics are in early, that the fight won't be run until Monday or Tuesday. I realize that my statement was marginally inflammatory, which is why I addressed it "to no-one in particular" (that way I tick everyone off equally). Anyway. I live in a world where communication is easy, easily available, and mostly free. The only thing it really costs is time. Time is what I'm talking about here. You're currently in a very busy time in your life. Since you offered yourself up for an example, I'll use you. {Disclaimer! Nobody is as good a judge as Telin as to how Telin spends his time. Anything I state is to be viewed as "for debate purposes only", and to have little (if any) real value at all.} I remember a year or so ago when you 'lorded six fights a week (that still boggles my mind). That was great, and fine. If I recall, you almost never had fights go late. When the circumstances of your life changed, you cut back on your 'lording responsibilities, and communicated to the rest of us that you were doing so. You were very responsible about it and I for one totally respected you for it. You had the foresight to know that you wouldn't have time. When you did run fights, I seem to remember you putting a post in almost every FotW thread that said something to the effect of "Hey guys, my best time is Thursday and Friday, my weekend is booked. If you don't get me tactics early, your fight will be run on Monday or Tuesday." WHOA! Great! Fantastic! COMMUNICATION!! It's impossible for me to get justifiably irritated that my fight posted on Monday/Tuesday now, because I've received communication that the completion time of my fight is totally up to me. After writing all this down, I guess what really ticks me off about the whole thing are people who have time to run them early (or have time to submit tactics early), but don't. I don't care if a person is a procrastinator with his own stuff, but he'd better not hinder me with his slow butt. And that's what I have had happen to me before. Now certainly, there are the few times that life happens (I remember Vath having a bad episode a few weeks ago), and I can't complain about that...life's happened to me a couple times too. But there are chronic offenders. I don't even keep track of them (I have better things to do with my time and mental energy). But there's no reason for 50% of a week's fights to be not completed by Monday morning. That's all in my humble opinion. TM |
| Macbrea03-25-07, 11:42 PM | I am in that boat of people who pitlord on mondays or tuesdays. And technically, it is because of the following. Wedsday - Pairings are done this evening. Nothing going on could run if had tactics. Thursday - Plenty of time to run my one fight Friday - Off to live action roleplaying game won't be back to 1-2am Saturday - run about do stuff with Mitza Sunday - go to d&d campain til about 10pm Monday - Run taking break for 'Heros' at 9pm EST. Tuesday - Rush to get fight done Neat considering I work a standard 8am to 5pm job M-F in corporate office. The sooner you guys get tactics into me the less time I will be rushed in doing the fight. |
| NiQil03-25-07, 11:45 PM | I haven't read everyone's (most, but not all), but maybe this would be info that would be a good idea to place in your Pitlord profile....best days to run fights for you...when you expect to have tactics if you allow time past the deadline...stuff like that. |
| TheMagister03-25-07, 11:46 PM | HA! I put my finger on it. THIS is what I would consider the best thing: @Niqil and Eluria - tactics received. They look good. Looking at my weekend, I think the fight'll be run no later than __________, so be on the lookout for it so we can go over errors if they crop up. TM |
| Macbrea03-25-07, 11:53 PM | Nah.. I run just one fight. I definitely am a predictable pitlord. |

Sorry.. send complaints to the rules department.. |
| Eluria03-26-07, 06:14 AM | Mohmat vs Shadow is done. Thanks for the run Sauro! |
| TelinArtho03-26-07, 09:24 AM | #1: He does not account for the tower shields -10ACP on appropriate skills. That makes Climb: -7; Jump -5, Balance -5, Swim -17 (which isn’t listed btw). That totals -34 vs my 28 total, with a difference of 59 pts, making me able to outmaneuver him by 295 feet. Incidentally that makes his tumble: -2. I just wanted to take a moment and explain something here. Technically, Zero doesn't take the ACP while just carrying the shield. He doesn't have it listed as equipped (not listed in his AC line), so he couldn't start with it equipped. Therefore - the above is actually incorrect. |
| Maraxus03-26-07, 09:42 AM | I'm just doing my fight. And there is one thing coming up, that I asked myself some time now: A Xeph's burst ability - Standart action or free action? |
| Macbrea03-26-07, 09:56 AM | Hmm, (SU) abilites state that they are standard actions unless stated elsewhere. Which isn't stated in the burst description. If you go back to the Xeph monster entry in the hyperlinked SRD. It gives special quality of Burst. Which is linked to the burst power, which is a swift action to activate. I am guessing it is suppose to be a swift action but it could be argued the failure to put in that statement makes it a standard action. It should be noted that +10 feet at the cost of your base move is alittle rediculous as a standard action to go +10 vs just taking another move action. |
| Maraxus03-26-07, 10:49 AM | I have to agree, putting me into a dillema. I think I'll go with what I (and you and the player, so virtually everybody) interpret as the intention and use it as a swift action. |
| UserNamer03-26-07, 11:08 AM | Zero (UserNamer) vs. Psychosis (Tellish_of_Ket) : [Arena] this one took me some Soul searching cause i really don't like to make a player forfiet.. but the rules are very clear.. is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11889747&postcount=704)... with the reason why.. I made no attempt to influence Rauul in any way shape or form. It was totally at his discretion. Now, on another note, i can say (now that Rauul has posted the fight without any undue influence from me) that were i a pitlord with a gladiator with a late edit, i would do the exact same as well. I know, for me, i'm actually a more strict pitlord than most. ToK |
| Zevox03-26-07, 11:58 AM | I'm just doing my fight. And there is one thing coming up, that I asked myself some time now: A Xeph's burst ability - Standart action or free action? The way I've always seen it run is that its a standard action. All supernatural abilities are unless specified otherwise, and this one isn't. I'm not sure why the race's ability is linked to the power, but given theres nothing in the descriptions to indicate its at all related to that, I'm guessing it was an error on the part of whoever compiled that version of the SRD. (Aside: the SRD I use, Sovelior-Sage, doesn't have such a link, so its probably unique to that SRD.) As for the question of its usefulness, note that it lasts several rounds, and as the Xeph raises in level goes up to a 20 ft then 30 ft boost. Its not as useful at low levels, but definitely is at high ones. Zevox |

Zevox your interpritation doesnt make much sense- even through it lasts 3 rounds and at level 9+ it gives in total +30 to speed which is equal to base speed - i just dont see it as likely that you give up a standard action to for +30 to move for 2 rounds (since the bonus for first round is meanengless since you could have gotten it anyway if you double moved). it does make a lot more sense for it to be swift action. |
| Abyssal Stalker03-26-07, 12:22 PM | Could anyone take the Torel vs monsters fight? It really looks like I won't be able to run it (not on time, nor before wednesday). RL has been more hectic than I anticipated. Everything is ready, you just need to run the fight! Edit: Link |

Remember that thats +30ft to your speed the round you use it, +60ft if you double-move in the two subsequent rounds. And its your interpretation that doesn't make sense I'm afraid, because theres nothing in the rules at all to support it. The ability never references the burst power, or anything else that would indicate it is a swift action, so why would it be? Just because its more useful that way? Nobody said the ability was supposed to be optimally useful. This is an LA+0 race with several other benefits already you're talking about here, its perfectly conceivable this ability wasn't meant to be as useful as it possibly could be. Zevox |

| waywreth03-26-07, 02:10 PM | Tyden vs. Matthis is finished. A really interesting fight, take a look. ;) I think you nailed it - the mirror image really won that fight. Rolls going for Matthis, what will happen next! |
| Maraxus03-26-07, 02:51 PM | Well, it was not to much luck involed. Your Magic Missles hit totally average. Luck was that 3 quite bad attack rolls of your opponent round 7-9 even missed the images AC (okay, that's equal to your touch AC anyway...). But then again, that Tydens pings with 1d6 (sometimes +1) always hit the images and not you was luck for him. In the end it was a 50/50 with the image but also only after your two 1d2 decission rolls were diffrent, else M had been auto-spotting T in the second lest round - and then you failed the spot check, too. And with the only 60% chance to it you behind cover and a little chance to not kill you on a hit, I guess, this readied action was dangerous, but in the end the victory was not undeserved (both of you would have deserved it) |

| TheMagister03-26-07, 09:11 PM | Yea I realized the maneuverability issue after Stalker posted the tactics. I'm also having to update your opponents, too. Abyssal was obviously in a hurry, and the two sheets are riddled with little errors. (As soon as I saw that halfling rogue with a Hide skill of only 9, my hackles rose!). Going over the sheet revealed some other errors. I haven't even gotten into the Bard, yet. I'll repost their sheets soon. TM |
| NiQil03-26-07, 09:11 PM | Tyden vs. Matthis is finished. A really interesting fight, take a look. ;) Thanks for the run... I do have one question. I have no problem with the improv to come down from the statue when it was obvious that he was never going to come in my range. But why do it before he spots me? If I had stayed up there until he spotted me, he could have easily come into range, allowing me to attack him or an image before I have to come down....maybe more than one depending on how close he gets. The reason that this important is that if there is one less image there because I stay up on the statue longer, then that last strike would be against Matthis himself, not an image. I don't think it is unreasonable to stay hidden until spotted (or until a delay penalty came in, whichever happened first), since it was obvious that I wanted to be on that statue. I would very much appreciate if you could look at this. |

| NiQil03-26-07, 09:29 PM | Well, Matthis was actually looking out for you and it was reasonable to assume that he will spot you soon and then attack first. By comming down Tyder had the possibility to attack first. But attacking first was never a priority in my tactics...staying on the statue was. That was what I based my tactics around. Attacking first does me no good in this fight. Either I was expecting an invisible attack or mirror images. I knew I wouldn't be attack first. I think it was clear that I knew that. If I was concerned about being able to attack first, I would be actively seeking my opponent, not sitting on a statue. Yes, Matthis would most likely eventually see me. But there is no guarantee that he would not do it before coming into range of my dorje. Like I said...I have no problem with the improv that occurred, because Matthis tactics broke my tactics. But I do have an issue with when the improv occurred. At that time, my tactics were still functional, and had not yet broken. I see no reason to deviate from them until I am spotted and I see Matthis retreat out of my range. |

| Yitzi03-27-07, 01:09 PM | I see sonofzeal has posted the setup for my fight against Lars, and, looking at Lars' tactics, I don't know if he's aware that throwing a mind blade with psychic strike will require one move action to get the blade (it dissipates after being thrown), a second move action to charge it with psychic strike, and a standard action to throw it. |
| hogarth03-27-07, 01:25 PM | Rauul, I was looking through the skeleton fight. Why didn't the skeleton get attacks of opportunity against Valen when he did his "club and run away" or "manifest and run away" technique? Lightning may be withdrawing, but Valen is not (since he's performing another action in the same turn). Mission: [LOY] "To Teach an Old Dog a New Trick" [EL 7] is done.. | Sjiggie03-27-07, 02:56 PM | @ Rauul I'm Running your MQ right now had a bit of bad luck with my computer chrashing and router problems so I couldn't acces internet and when I could and had the fight halfway done my computer chrashed again. So hang on for a moment and it will be done by tonight. |

| Macbrea03-27-07, 03:36 PM | Lars d'Exavar (Macbrea) vs. Lightwolf Phoenixstar (Yitzi) is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11903611&postcount=712). There's a LOT of luck in this one, on both sides. I can't remember ever seeing so many 19's and 20's in a single fight. Your going to need to move my turns out and take his shots. My actions should be Round 1 - Run action (full round) Round 2 - Throw (standard) recharge second mindblade's psychic strike(Move) Round 3 - Throw (standard) make new mindblade (move) Round 4 - Recharge strike (move) and throw (standard) Round 5 - Make new mindblade (move) and recharge strike (move) Round 6 - Throw mindblade (standard) Which means he will get a shot on me in round 5 and then be killed in round 6. Pretty simple fix. |
| TelinArtho03-27-07, 03:38 PM | @hogarth and Zevox - just a bit of a clarification I figured I'd point out. Ceilia is only going to take one AoO on charging towards the opponent no matter how many threatened squares Celia moves out of: Combat Reflexes and Additional Attacks of Opportunity: If you have the Combat Reflexes feat you can add your Dexterity modifier to the number of attacks of opportunity you can make in a round. This feat does not let you make more than one attack for a given opportunity, but if the same opponent provokes two attacks of opportunity from you, you could make two separate attacks of opportunity (since each one represents a different opportunity). Moving out of more than one square threatened by the same opponent in the same round doesn’t count as more than one opportunity for that opponent. All these attacks are at your full normal attack bonus. Hope that helps. |
| Yitzi03-27-07, 03:41 PM | Lars d'Exavar (Macbrea) vs. Lightwolf Phoenixstar (Yitzi) is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11903611&postcount=712). There's a LOT of luck in this one, on both sides. I can't remember ever seeing so many 19's and 20's in a single fight. A number of complaints, that may very well affect the course of battle: (the hypertext SRD on soulknives can be found here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/classes/soulknife.htm)) 1. On Lars' critical, you multiplied his psionic strike damage as well. Added damage dice, which would include the psionic strike damage, are not multiplied by a critical. 2. Lars said he was going into battle with 2 mind blades, but I noticed that a soulknife cannot have 2 mind blades until level 5, and then it comes at a penalty to enhancement bonus. 3. Was Lars both reforming and charging each blade before throwing? If not, his attack on round 5 should not have had the +1d8 damage. If yes (as he said in his strategy), he took too many moves, as it takes a move action to summon a mind blade and another to charge it. He could start with one blade formed and charged, but after that he would need 2 move+1 standard per charged blade thrown. I suspect this would change the results of the battle, so if you could rerun it (or adjust damage then continue after Lars' second hit), preferably before the deadline tomorrow, that would be appreciated. Thanks. (if it's not adjusted by tonight, I'll adjust my sheet as though I lost, if the rerun means I win, I'll add another 600 gp+exp next opportunity. |
| Macbrea03-27-07, 03:44 PM | A soulknife may form 2 mindblades as long as they are not in the same hand. It requires two move actions. That may be done at his leasure as a prebuff. There is nothing that prevents him from doing it. Though, if he sets them down they go away. We already discussed this with hand of flame. Nothing prevents a pryo from activating hand of flame on their right hand then activating hand of flame on their left hand. It is two distinct targets. |
| hogarth03-27-07, 03:48 PM | A soulknife may form 2 mindblades as long as they are not in the same hand. It requires two move actions. That may be done at his leasure as a prebuff. There is nothing that prevents him from doing it. Then why does it specify that at level 5 you can create two mind blades "suitable for fighting with a weapon in each hand"? |
| Macbrea03-27-07, 03:50 PM | 1. On Lars' critical, you multiplied his psionic strike damage as well. Added damage dice, which would include the psionic strike damage, are not multiplied by a critical. This is correct. You are also not allowed to just multiply the damage it must be rolled for the second half. So, you will need to roll the 1d6+3 for the second half of the crit. Making the damage 7 + 1d6+3 instead of 14. |
| Yitzi03-27-07, 03:52 PM | Then why does it say that at level 5 he can form 2 mindblades (short sword), but at -1 enhancement to each? In any case, I looked it over, and had the following result: The doubled 1d8 comes to only 1 point, according to the dice roller, and because my hit wouldn't kill you, the extra move actions, whether I'm right about 2 blades or you are, would just push it to round 6, so it all depends if I can kill you (14 damage) with a rapid shot. Could go either way, I'll PM sonofzeal. |
| Macbrea03-27-07, 03:52 PM | It says you may summons them into being as a single action. |
| hogarth03-27-07, 03:56 PM | It says you may summons them into being as a single action. No...it says you can summon your mind blade (a move action) and then shape it into two (worse) short swords (a full round action). Why would you ever do that when you can summon two (full-strength) mind blades (2 move actions)? |
| Macbrea03-27-07, 04:03 PM | If we are not allowed to summons multiple mindblades. Which I cannot see a reason why your not allowed to by the rules. You are allowed to target both of your hands seperately. Then my actions should have been. Round 1 - Run action (full round) Round 2 - Throw (standard) reform mindblade (move) Round 3 - recharge psychic strike(Move) and Throw (standard) Round 4 - make new mindblade (move) and Recharge strike (move) Round 5 - throw (standard) and Make new mindblade (move) Round 6 - recharge strike (move) and Throw mindblade (standard) Which again has the effect he fires in round 5 and gets hit in round 6. So, I agree. He should get a full round shot at me in round 5. Though strickly by my tactics it should have looked like: Round 1 - Run action (full round) Round 2 - Tap tattoo of force screen and hide. <---- Missing action Round 3 - Throw (standard) reform mindblade (move) Round 4 - recharge psychic strike(Move) and Throw (standard) Round 5 - make new mindblade (move) and Recharge strike (move) Round 6 - throw (standard) and Make new mindblade (move) Round 7 - recharge strike (move) and Throw mindblade (standard) The missing action which was in Lar's tactics really would have meant that Lightwolf's roll of 1d20+6 = 25 misses in round 4, making the damage needed actually 23. With 20s to hit. |

| sonofzeal03-27-07, 10:07 PM | So wait, what exactly am I doing about the Lars d'Exavar vs. Lightwolf Phoenixstar fight? That Lightwolf gets one extra round of shooting seems well-established, but there's also the Force Screen issue, and the whole question of the number of mindblades. Btw, I agree with MindWandererB on that issue - double mindblades at your level isn't kosher. Macbrea, check my PM. |

Btw, I agree with MindWandererB on that issue - double mindblades at your level isn't kosher. Macbrea, check my PM. I think the best option would be to say he uses force screen (which means one of my shots misses), and I get 2 extra shots to try to bring him down. I'll probably lose-he got a lot of 20s at the beginning. I probably should have put gaining cover for myself in the tactics, but I didn't expect the situation that developed. Ah well. When you do run it, please PM both me and Macbrea, so we can adjust our sheets if needed. 600 gp probably won't affect my purchases now, so it shouldn't be too much trouble-I'll just record it as a loss, and add the extra 600 gp/exp if I end up winning. EDIT: turns out 600 would affect my purchases now, but that's just the way it goes. Chances are I'll lose anyway (I blame the dice, mostly) |

Up to round 15, and it's down to a matter of waiting for 20's, and I just realised that in round 5-8 I wasn't handling the psychic strike properly (making him recharge after misses). I'm very much disinclined to change it now - it'd only result in one more attack max, which would miss 90% of the time anyway, and the bookkeeping would be horrendus. I'll tack the extra attack on to round 99, so that should satisfy everyone. I'll update this post when I'm done. (edit: and, 37 arrows later, the result is the same (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11903611&postcount=712).) |

| Abyssal Stalker03-28-07, 01:03 PM | And my despise of online rollers continues..... Do you think that real dice give more random numbers? One guy I know rolled a d20 some 1000  times and noted the results up. The result was quite obvious; some numbers ocurred more often than others. He made the same test with different dice and always some numbers came out more often. This isn't surprising, because I honestly can't even consider that a d20 would be perfectly shaped. But it shows that at least real dice aren't completely random. I don't know about online rollers. |
