Note: This is an open poll, available to all, whether you currently have a gladiator or not. It is not necessary to post your vote below, in addition to clicking on the appropriate selection. All discussion can be done on this thread below. The poll will close 3/31/2004.

Vote for the option you most agree with!

Do you think we should:

A. Never have an Iron Man tournament?
B. Have an Iron man tournament when the Arena characters reach 20th level?
C. Have an Iron Man tournament with 10th ECL and later with 20th ECL characters?
D. Have an Iron Man tournament with 10th ECL, 15th ECL, and later 20th ECL characters?

Come one come all noble men and women of gentle inclination! Have you struggled all to long under the shadow of dominance from those pillars of immorality and rude living? I refer of course to those "arena champions" who have for many odd months dominated all discussion of the local Arena Town Gazatteer paper! Perhaps you yearn for a new compitition, one that challenges old assumptions and builds on what some few gladitors of fine breeding have accomplished thus far. If these words ring true to you, oh intelligent (and dare I say attractive) reader then come forth and voice your opinion on this voterating device before you! But ask yourself but one

For more information please check out the original IronMan thread. The nitty gritty is as follows;
Potential participants would create one gladiator of a high level to fight against other newly created peoples with the following differences.

No resurection upon death. *open to discussion*
No level or monies upon victory
Only 1 minute (10 full rounds) between fights
No healing or other actions between the end of one week's fights to the next.
Any spells or items used in your first fight are gone for all future fights.

The reason this is going to a poll is that inevatably, if there's a new game in town (no matter how small or short lived it may be) some of the glamour of the core arena will be lost. Personally I think this will only strengthen the core arena, and in particular could provide an interesting final test of ability at 20th level-to crown the True arena champion perhaps. But if you disagree adamantly feel free to note that.

Also consider that fights will require moderators. If you also have gladiators in the COCO any fights wil be above and beyond those you already run. Still if everyone only posts one character this shouldn't be to hard to manage, I'm open to suggestions on how moderators for fights should be selected...

A final word: if any of you are 1/2 as excited about this as I am we could have a heckuv a lot of fun.

Intresting...

1) How about resurections can be performed, but standard resurection costs apply. But once you die, you cannot participate further in the tourney.
2) Iron Man Fight carries a purse of 1,000g per combatant entered, and the total purse will be divided among the top 3 or 5 combatants.
3) Experience would be awarded normally. Meaning that you would get the XP listed for defeating an opponent of said CR. At the end of the tourney add up your total XP and determine what level you should be, then it's back to the standard one level per win.
4) Allow healing and reading actions during the 10 round delay between fights.
5) A dispell magic will be cast on each opponent as they leave the Coliseum.

voted.

Edit: If anyone cares to know I voted D, but not opposed to doing 15 first then 20 as Snark suggested. I also would be willing to moderate fights for the ironman competition if extra moderators are needed.

Voted D as well. Mostly cuz I'm curious how far a core Vampire could go...

Anywho Postal your suggestions are valid but it would prolly be best to have them in the original thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=194192), if only to keep this one vote related. If I've got time I'll posy my opin on those guidelines there but if you want to elaborate on your reasoning that would probably further the discussion.

Hmm one point-on option D I meant to have the 15th level Tourny instead of the 10th. We could do both I suppose, if there's interest.

D for em as well, though I'd prefer the 10th level so we can work out a few kinks before things really explode... 11th level equals 6th level spells, and that's where all madness can occur ;).

Besides, I can wait for my fun little plant... :-D

Voted! I like the idea of maxed-out highlevelcharacters! But please only short breaks between the fights.

Good point. I don't really care either way as long as we try it out. In fact, I think I suggested ECL 10 back in the original thread. Anyway, point is let's do this and have some fun.

I voted a very reserved D.

I like the idea very much, but have some worries about it. My main worry is that I don't want it to detract from the arena. I don't want the levels of COCO to be vacant because everyone is fighting there instead. I don't want the best pitlords to be in Ironman because the fights are very high level.

Anyway, I think it is a fun idea, and am very excited to see what happens. I just think that we should make every effort to ensure that COCO stays strong.

Voted B. I just don't think we should have an Iron Man Tourny unless there are a few more mods or wait until everyone has more time to modify more characters.

Voted B.
