Although a kind soul and a beautiful child, Berri soon found life as harsh and unpredictable. After leaving the orphanage, Berri made the best use of her skills that she could; singing throughout the countryside and wandering where her will took her. She's picked up a number of odd skills along the way, including a bit of magic at her hands to help her out from time to time. Berri is merely passing through Gladius. She hopes one day to find a place she can call home, but until then, she is satisfied to travel the world over. About Yaristis Yaristis is a Neutral Good god followed by many of the civilized races the world over. Yaristis is the emblem of charity and good will and the defender of the meek, weak and poor. Followers of Yaristis bear the emblem of one hand depositing either a coin or a piece of food in the palm of another hand in an expression of giving. Although many of the followers are pacifistic by nature, a sect of the faith specifically aims to defend the weak and to help out those who suffer from lack of food, water or other needs. Yaristis's favored weapon is the warhammer - a symbol of strength and structure in many societies. Followers of Yaristis may choose from the following domains: Charm, Luck, Travel, or Community. | Erithmu09-05-07, 12:24 AM | Standing outside the repair shop Berri was beginning to think if she was ever going to get anything done for the CEF. Twice she had set out to find someone to fix the fountain and keep, but each time she found herself woken up in the Marble Castle with a mild headache. Stepping into the shop she was surprised to find the man who she had been sent to contact, although he didn't know that yet. "Whadaya want?" was the first thing out of his mouth. |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 10:25 AM | I am from the Celestial Forces. The name is Berri and I'm hoping to recruit some help in repairing some of the structures around the corner. Berri flashes the man a smile as genuine as a child looking for a piece of candy. She idly takes in the contents of the store with a curiosity not unlike a child. So what can I do to help you, that will in turn return the favor to your neighbors? Surely you'd like to see that fountain restored to its former beauty... |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 10:29 AM | The man looked Berri over and considered some things. "I think I can help ya, But I need ya to take care of a simple task for me. The quary where I get all of my stone has been out of use for a while, I suspect that it might be a little overrun with wildlife. If ya could head over there and take care of anything that might be a problem, it would go a long way towards me even being able to do the job." |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 10:41 AM | Your enthusiasm warms me. I will leave immediately - just point me in the right direction and I will return with news of my success. Berri is genuine in her appreciation that the store-owner seems inclined to help. |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 10:50 AM | Berri travels towards the edge of the CEF and Denth boarders and finds the quary with the directions of the shopkeeper. Coming over the top of the hill she can see why. Nature seems to have taken an unnatural interest in reclaiming the land for itself. Vines and large plants have moved in covering most of the equipment and buildings. Berri also notices a few spider webs that seem to have taken up residence that are a bit larger than a standard house spider. But nothing like the size of a house-sized spider could produce. She made her way down the hill towards the outskirts of the camp. How would you like to approach? |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 11:08 AM | Cautiously thank you... Berri makes her way down, careful to give the spider webs a wide berth as much as possible. She holds a scroll in hand in case trouble catches her, hoping that its protective powers will be enough to keep her safe. Hold a scroll of Shield (CL2) in hand as I approach. I would prefer to stay as much in the wide open as possible, but give extra care against webs. |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 11:17 AM | Making her way down to the camp she found that there were three main entrances, two of which were encased in webbing, the third still had some webbing but was less ... threatening ... Moving toward the gate she saw a patch flowers that seemed to have taken root not 15ft from entrance to the gate on the camp side of the walls. The were rather beautiful in such a distressing place. |xy|A|B|C|D|E|F|G|H|I|J| | 0| | | | | |B| | | | | | 1| | | | | | | | | | | | 2|w| | | | | |w|w| | | | 3|S|S|S|S| | |S|S|S|S| | 4| |w|w| | | | |w| | | | 5| | | | | | | | | | | | 6|w|w| | |F|F| | | | | | 7|H|H| | |F|F| | | | | | 8|H|H| | | | | | | | | | 9|H|H|w| | | | | | | | S = Stone wall 20ft high w = webbing F = Flower box H = House/Building B = you |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 11:29 AM | Berri moves to the stone wall cautiously before moving further on. She takes care to listen carefully and watch for any signs of movement as well. Take a tangent to D2 (via C0) and observe the area beyond before moving in. When moving in, stay near the wall to start - but still avoid webs. Does the flower box have any special rules (Impeded movement, LOS blocking, etc) that I should know about? |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 11:31 AM | Only special rules is that it is uneven ground. You don't see anything. |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 11:51 AM | Berri continues about, searching for signs of any sort of denizen that might be the source of the webs. Essentially, continue exploring carefully (the equivalent of spotting/listening every round and moving at half speed) until something is found or I am attacked/interacted with. Once that happens, Berri will likely be reading her scroll (unless entangled...) Explore the outside first, then check the building(s) if nothing else presents itself. |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 12:02 PM | Berrri passes under the gate and begins to move around the flower bed when she hears something ... It begins as a low pitched squeal and grows into an ear piercing shriek that lasts for what seems like an eternity but then dies down. While nothing moves within the flower bed she hears the sound of scuttling moving towards her quickly. Looking around quickly she sees one of the spiders up on the roof of the house. Surprise: Shrieker: Shriek when Berri reaches E4 Round 1: Critters move to reach the area 23 - Small Spider 1 moves (B,9) 15 - Berri - ??? 14 - Spider 3 06 - Spider 4 04 - Spider 2 |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 12:10 PM | Bugs... why does it have to be bugs...? Berri steps back and casts the spell from her scroll [10% ASF, CL check (+1 vs DC3), if either fails, use luck domain to reroll] and then draws her greatsword. What size are these spiders? 4 Small Spiders would be CR3 on their own - but I'm not sure that the Shrieker is really worth the CR1 that it supposedly is... |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 12:30 PM | Berri feels her armor stiffen up and throws a little extra muscle into the somatic component of the shield spell and feels it take form as she draws her greatsword just in time to see the spider make a move across the roof and leap into the air at her. It sinks its teeth into her and she feels the poison but resists it. Round 1: Critters move to reach the area 23 - Small Spider 1 moves (B,9) 15 - Berri - ASF: 10, Reroll:20 CL: 4 14 - Spider 3 - moves 06 - Spider 4 - moves 04 - Spider 2 - moves Round 2: 23 - Small spider jump attack off the roof (Atk: 18 dmg 1 Fort: 12 Jump soft fall: auto pass) 15 - Berri - ??? 14 - Spider 3 - moves 06 - Spider 4 - moves 04 - Spider 2 - scuttles to J,9 Its a CR 3 ... don't worry how I add up the numbers :) |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 12:38 PM | Umm... with shield up, Berri's AC is 20. Also - not that I'm nitpicky or anything (well okay - I am) - but how does it jump from B9 (unknown elevation) to E4? That's a 30ft jump... and without a running start... (DC60). If it is still in melee with me (I assume it will be), go ahead and attack with the greatsword. Whether or not it dies from the hit, step back to (F2). Berri swings her sword down on the spider while dodging its fangs. No wonder no one comes down here these days... nasty critters you are... |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 12:53 PM | Cause I wanna look cool? As for the AC ... I normally just get to Berri's hp and think AC (Soooo Looowww....) Round 2: 23 - Small spider moves and bases Berri jump attack off the roof (Atk: 18 dmg 1 Fort: 12 Jump soft fall: auto pass) 15 - Berri - Atk: 12 step to F2 14 - Spider 3 - moves 06 - Spider 4 - moves 04 - Spider 2 - scuttles to J,9 Round 3: 23 - Small spider step and attacks Berri (Atk: 18 miss) 15 - Berri - ??? 14 - Spider 3 - moves onto map 06 - Spider 4 - moves onto map (on wall) 04 - Spider 2 - pending Map shows where 3 and 4 move to but does not show Berri's rnd 3 action, nor #2's actions |xy|A|B|C|D|E|F|G|H|I|J| | 0| | | | | | | | | | | | 1| | | | | | | | | | | | 2|w| | | | |B|w|w| | | | 3|S|S|S|S|1| |S|S|S|4| | 4|3|w|w| | | | |w| | | | 5| | | | | | | | | | | | 6|w|w| | |F|S| | | | | | 7|H|H| | |F|F| | | | | | 8|H|H| | | | | | | | | | 9|H|H|w| | | | | | |2| |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 12:57 PM | Swing again (this time - don't miss please...) and step away, if it lives, to E1 or move away to J0 (if it dies). |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 02:07 PM | Round 3: 23 - Small spider step and attacks Berri (Atk: 18 miss) 15 - Berri - Swing: 7 + Step 14 - Spider 3 - moves onto map 06 - Spider 4 - moves onto map (on wall) 04 - Spider 2 - Bases Round 4: 23 - Spider step (Bases S) and attacks Berri (Atk: 20! confirm: 8 dmg and fort from above) 15 - Berri - 14 - Spider 3 - 06 - Spider 4 - 04 - Spider 2 - I'm trying man ... I think Berri might be the official target of your dice karma. |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 02:12 PM | My goal right now is just to hit and try to stay from being flanked. So go ahead and continue with that. If they manage to make me fail a save, or if I am reduced to 4hp or less - stop there to regroup for a minute |
| Erithmu09-05-07, 02:36 PM | As the swarm of spiders close in Berri finally finds some firm footing taking down the four spiders in four quick strokes. Afterwards she moves and kills off the shrieker and then gets away in case more spiders are interested in finding out what the shrieker is making noise about. 4 hits in a row, you take no damage. Leaves you in decent shape for your last week/2nd fight of the mission. |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 03:01 PM | Now that's the way things should've gone in my previous quests... Well - hopefully my future weeks will work out as well... Cleaning off the sticky remnants of the spiders from her blade, Berri surveys the area from a distance once more - careful to watch for more spiders. I hope those are not a sign of what's to come... spiders only get nastier as they get older... not unlike the few goblins I've met... Berri ponders about the relationship between goblins and spiders for a bit, amusing herself in her own curious way. |
| TelinArtho09-05-07, 03:20 PM | If Berri survives the next encounter, I need her to replenish her stock of scrolls (hmm - just the scroll of Shield (CL2) I just used apparently and anything I use in the upcoming week). |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 02:19 PM | Ready to go when you are... |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 02:52 PM | Berri moved through the grounds quickly. She spied a few wild squirrels but most of them ran when they saw her. The largest thing within the town was probably a small dog who simply hobbled up and whimpered before dying about five feet from her. While disturbing she moved on. Finishing her circuit of the town she found that all that was left was to venture down into the quary itself. The trail was a bit treacherous and the plant life had seemed to take over at a rather unnatural rate. Some flowers had bloomed in smaller fashion but others had grown to full size. Most of which were shades of blue and purple. Glancing down into the quary she saw what the problem was. An egg patch, at this range it was too difficult to determine what types of eggs nor of what size they were, but there were probably a few dozen. |xy|A|B|C|D|E|F|G|H|I|J| | 0|C|C| | | | | |*|*|*| | 1|C|C| | | | | |*|*|*| | 2|C|C| | |*|*|*|*|*|*| | 3|C|C| | |*|*|*|*|*|*| | 4|C|C| | | | |*|*|*|*| | 5|C|C| | | | |*|*|*|*| | 6|C|C| | | | |*|*|*|*| | 7|C|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*| | 8|C| | | | |*|*|*|*|*| | 9|C| | | | |*|*|*|*|*| |10|C| | | | |*|*|*|*|*| |11|C| |B| |*|*|*|*|*|*| |12|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*|*| |13|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*|*| |14|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*|*| |15|C|C| | |X|*|*|*|*|*| |16|C|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*| |17|C|C| | | | |*|*|*|*| |18|C| | | | |*|*|*|*|*| |19|C| | | |*|*|*|*|*|*| Black = Upward Cliff Face C = Downward Cliff Face (don't fall) Working on my last paper of summer ... I should be lurking most of the day, but I need to get it mostly done today. |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 02:58 PM | Don't fall... heh - don't bull rush me off the cliff... Just so I know - how far down is it? What's that down there? Berri wondered aloud to herself. Keeping a careful watch above and below her, she continued down the path, hoping to find a safe route down. No rush - you know my schedule I assume. During the week I get a lot of time to post, but very little over the weekends. If worse comes to worse - Berri is pretty simple to play with... Let's have a scroll of Shield (CL2) in hand - just in case (unless it looks like I'll need to be climbing soon...) |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 03:09 PM | For arguement's sake lets just say that it is 13d6 of falling damage ... so you have a chance of living ... :) The cliff path goes all the way around at a gentle slope so that they can roll stone up. Think Egyptian Pyramid construction methods. Berri begins to move down the hill and hears the soft movement of something, but doesn't see anything when she turns her head. Sound located w/ X on map above. |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 03:13 PM | Cautiously, Berri backs away from the sound Always keep a 5ft square from the edge... D5 on the map. Who's there? she calls out - in case it is just another harmless squirrel, but she clenches the scroll in hand with the anticipation of something much worse. |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 03:15 PM | Berri hears the sound of her voice echo slightly across the cavern but nothing comes out, and nothing makes any more sound. |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 03:25 PM | Berri touches the holy symbol about her neck. Please Yaristis - give me the foresight to face this unknown with a clear mind she says softly. Cast Guidance from memory and if nothing comes out - move back to my previous location. If I need to make a save - use the guidance... |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 03:26 PM | Berri moves back up and finds that whatever made the sound is either gone or refuses to make noise again. You want to get ... closer? |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 03:32 PM | Without sure knowledge of what I'm facing... yes. Berri reads the scroll in hand and proceeds further, hugging the wall of the cliff as best she can. As an afterthought, she draws her sword. Read the shield scroll (CL check 1d20+1 vs DC3, ASF 10%) and 5ft step to D12. If she fails to read the scroll, don't move, don't draw sword. If the scroll is wasted, draw the other shield scroll instead of drawing the sword. I'm acting as if I am in rounds at this point - even though I don't have a confirmed opponent... this is just the character being cautious though - she's died way too many times... |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 03:36 PM | Berri continues to move closer and protects her self with a shield spell. Hugging the wall she moves closer Shield spell up, Guidance 9rnds left |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 03:42 PM | Okay - now time to be a little less cautious... Berri advances a little more confidently down the path - careful as she approaches the location of the sound, but otherwise, intent on continuing on to the nest below - to investigate that matter. Advance at normal speed until interrupted. In general - keep a 5ft distance from the edge and cliff wall (with preference to stay closer to the wall...) |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 03:48 PM | Berri turns the corner with Greatsword in hand to the largest purple flower she has ever seen. Roughly her size she stares for a moment before it begins to open up and extend it's vines in her general direction Round 1: Berri - ??? Plant - You are basically standing right next to it. |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 03:57 PM | Hmm- this could suck really quickly... Berri - suddenly recognizing a threat in front of her - wheels back into a defensive stance and casts a spell. If I can move back safely (don't know if that corner gives me cover or not), do so and cast Ray of Enfeeblement (10% ASF, 1d20+2(+1 - guidance) touch for 1d6+1 strength penalty). If I can't do it safely, cast defensively (1d20+6(+1)). Use guidance on the concentration check if it is needed - otherwise on the touch attack. If I am grappled, I'm afraid it is likely all over... of course, I could be very wrong about what it is... |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 04:04 PM | Berri reacts firs and drains the plant of some strength, and then moves behind the rocks just before 4 tentecales come around the corner and lash out. Round 1: Berri - ASF: pass, Touch 17 dmg 2 str (move to D13) Plant - (Step to D15) Tentecles (Atks: 6,16,10,15) Round 2: Berri - ??? Plant - ??? Your probably wrong. :) |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 04:12 PM | I like being wrong. It keeps me on my toes. You could've rolled better on the strength penalty - thanks though... Berri steps up to the plant, prays for strength from Yaristis and swings her sword down onto it. 5ft step and attack. I'll probably continue attacking unless I get more information about it - from it hitting me or doing something other than an attack... |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 04:27 PM | Heh - and here I was all concerned that the thing was an oddly-shaped assassin vine... Guess I should've been a little more selective about the guidance (I did put it up for the saving throws - which might've mattered here...). |
| Erithmu09-13-07, 04:27 PM | With two quick strokes Berri removes another plant from the world. Taking in a deep breath she waits to make sure it is dead. (DM RP enacted) Sheathing her sword she begins to step over the creature just as it releases a buff of gas. Berri catches most of it in a deep surprised gasp and makes her way towards the cliff face and although she fights it she passes out. Time passes as she dreams from the noxious gases. She travels to Yaristis gates and finds only a Trumpet Archon standing there to meet her at the gates. "Where am I? "You are safe, your spirit resides here for the moment while your body recovers. I have a message from Yaristis for you however. Your battles will continue, but we have set a guardian over you to protect you. You may only catch glimpses of your guardian Berri, but he will be there to protect you while you gain understanding. But now it is time for you to return." The gates disappeared and the darkness of the rock quarry returned. In the haze she saw an angel for a moment. Wielding a large warhammer in two hands he looks at her for a moment before removing a pack and throwing it to the ground. The next moment he was gone. Coming back to her sense she stood and wobbled over to the pack. Opening it she found some scrolls and supplies within. As the haze from the poison faded she looked around and found some larger spiders were lying twitching on the ground with large hammer strokes and missing legs. (End DM RP interlude) Backpack is to reload scrolls if you want. Round 2 Berri - Atk 20! dmg 14 Violet Fungus - all miss Round 3: Berri - Atk: 17 min dmg kills |
| TelinArtho09-13-07, 04:37 PM | Same memorized spells for cleric 2 Arcane Scrolls of Shield (CL2) Also - improve armor to +1 (1000gp). Even if I fail in my last week of the mission, I have enough money to cover this - so no issue there. |
| Erithmu09-20-07, 11:55 AM | Berri continues to work her way down the slope being extra careful around corners. She finds a few smaller spiders that are 'step worthy' and proceeds to do so. As she gets lower she finally takes in the lower part of the quarry. It seems like the construction was stopped suddenly. There are a few skeletal remains of what were probably workers. A few of the heating ducts are still working producing small spurts of flame from what must be gnomish constructions that helped to form the rock. The only thing that seems out of place is a pile of rocks on top of what seems to be the location of a heating duct. |
| TelinArtho09-20-07, 12:01 PM | Berri circles the pile of rocks from a distance to see if it has any distinctive features that are notable. Then she grabs a lengthy (bone or piece of wood) before approaching the rocks and prods it cautiously. How high is the pile of rocks? Stay at 30ft distance if possible and investigate from afar. If nothing is revealed by circling it - I'm hoping I can get something long enough to offer me "reach" towards the pile to knock it over. If not - I'll settle for a bone or something shorter. In any case, keep a scroll of Shield (CL2) in my other hand. Drop the stick/bone immediately if an opponent presents itself. |
| Erithmu09-20-07, 12:18 PM | Berri finishes her decent into the base of the quarry. Moving cautiously towards the pile of rocks she gets roughly 100ft away before she realizes that they are not rocks, but eggs. Whatever is here, must be using the heating duct to keep them warm. Looking around Berri notes that the next heating duct is 50ft away, and a Mining shaft is roughly 80ft away. |
| TelinArtho09-20-07, 12:34 PM | How big are the eggs? How large is a heating duct? Really tempting to scatter the eggs here... EDIT: Placement right now: Berri - 50ft away from next heating duct, 80ft away from mining shaft, 100ft away from pile? |
| Erithmu09-21-07, 06:10 PM | Sorry ... nutty week and sanity is failing.... Berri facing North - 100ft from egg pile - 125ft from next heating duct on Berri's NE (next duct is 50ft from egg pile) - Mine shaft is 80ft from egg pile, roughly 40ft from Berri on the NW. |
| TelinArtho09-24-07, 10:13 AM | Berri approaches the egg pile cautiously - heading slightly towards the mine shaft to get a look inside. Approach the mine shaft on a line perpendicular to its entrance (so that something would have to be right on the edge in order to see me coming). Once at the mine shaft - look inside, if nothing is apparent, circumvent it and head towards the egg pile with my prodding stick (assuming I can get something for the purpose) and knock the pile over. |
| TelinArtho09-25-07, 03:42 PM | Bumpity bump. No pressure of course - but if you want to get this done this week - might be good to get the 3rd encounter going... |
| Erithmu09-25-07, 04:34 PM | It is going to be late ... class started this week |
| TelinArtho09-25-07, 04:38 PM | No problem then - I have no issue with it running late |
| Erithmu09-29-07, 07:50 PM | Ok .. life is back to semi normal ... Berri moved slowly up to the Mine shaft which was vertical and seemed to be more vertical and designed as air flow and for transportation of large material. Glancing over the side she scanned down, There were a few off shoots that she couldn't see down, but the main shaft was clear of movement. She did take notice of many webs there were running around and about. Pausing for a moment she looked over at the eggs where we very small. She still had the mining pick that she had found at the base of the quarry entrance. With one more glance down the shaft she turned her attention towards the eggs. The pile was about her height and there were probably over 200 eggs here. She heard a slight popping sound and felt the ground move, but nothing visible. Egg pile is about 15x15 and you can just smash away. |
| TelinArtho09-29-07, 08:12 PM | Just a slight popping sound? How about a direction (towards the egg pile, underfoot, behind me, etc)? In any case - back away from the pile and the sound, |
| Erithmu10-02-07, 10:12 AM | Berri halts her approach as she listens to the sound. The popping sound seems to be coming from the ground under the eggs. It intensifies and then the ground seems to get hot and the sound subsides. Berri figures that whatever laid the eggs must be using it for incubation. A quick glance around indicates that the must be over a heating vent. But how would the eggs be supported? |
| TelinArtho10-02-07, 10:21 AM | A web of course... that was no question to me. Still - I was rather hoping to draw this thing out without have to be too close. Despite the fear in her heart, Berri approached the pile of eggs cautiously. Once in reach, she prodded a few to see if they would move easily. If they do, she pulls a few away until she can gain view of the vent underneath. If she accidentally causes a landslide of the eggs... get out of Dodge! At the first sign of the creature(s), cast shield from the scroll (dropping the pick in hand) and react with a weapon accordingly (most likely sword...). |
| Erithmu10-07-07, 08:29 PM | The eggs were held by webbing but were soft and jelly like and could be cut open with any sharp object, like the mining pick in her hand. With a couple of cautious pokes she ruined a few of the eggs, looking carefully around for the mother. A few more and still saw nothing. Popping two more she found that the heating duct the eggs were on was sealed with a metal plate that seemed to absorb most of the heat. Looking around she was beginning to be concerned about the lack of a mother to watch her eggs. Turning back to the eggs she was distracted out of the corner of her eye seeing something coming out of the mining shaft. Turning sharply she heard the heating sound pop and crackle and then explode but she covers her face from the majority of the blast. Turning back she sees the mother fully climb out of the far mining shaft and rush towards her eggs, but not before Berri can react Round 0: Burning hands trap (R: 14 dmg:1) Round 1 Spider - finishes climb moves 30ft towards Berri Berri - Drop pick + Shield scroll + ??? ??? - ??? Where the flames came out. |
| TelinArtho10-07-07, 10:31 PM | So much for staying at distance and poking... but oh well. Berri whips around, dropping the pick and quickly reading the contents of the scroll in hand. Finishing it - she drops the remnants of the crumbling parchment and draws her sword while she repositions. Drop pick, read scroll, draw sword and 5ft step to F5 (would move more - but no BAB to get the free draw on a move...). Next round, assuming I can move freely and I am in melee range - 5ft step away and cast Ray of Enfeeblement on the spider. If I can't 5ft step, just attack. |
| Erithmu10-07-07, 10:47 PM | Berri defends herself and gets off the heating plate as it seems to building more heat to release a blast again. The spider charges and inflicts a violent wound, that causes Berri to move back and cast a spell, however her armor gets in the way. The spider moves in and misses this time. Round 1: Round 1 Spider - finishes climb moves 30ft towards Berri Berri - Drop pick + Shield scroll (ASF: pass) + Draw and step ??? - Nothing Round 2 Spider - Charges and smites (Atk: 24 dmg: 5 Fort: 13) Berri - Step and RoE (ASF:Yes) ??? - irrelevant Round 3 Spider Attack: 16 Berri - ??? | TelinArtho10-08-07, 12:43 AM | Too late for defense. Time to hit (don't miss please...). Continue unless I get hit back or something else shows up. Also - take 5ft steps away from the plate and spider. |
| Erithmu10-08-07, 12:48 AM | How about a crit? With a single swing Berri cleaves the spider in two parts leaving no doubt who is the better fighter. Berri is able to time the rest of the firey blasts and cut open all the eggs. Finishing her survey of the area she takes care of a few single small spiders, but for the most part it appears that the quarry is now safe enough for some of the rebuilding teams to start work. |
| TelinArtho10-08-07, 12:54 AM | You had me all confused with the "??? - Nothing" and "??? - Irrelevant" - now of course I realize that must be the trap... Guess I should be glad that I read it as a creature - the crit was timely - for sure. Anyway - thanks for the run. Finally to Paladin and +1 BAB... |
| Erithmu10-08-07, 12:57 AM | Yea I basically did a modified Burning hands trap on anything on the plate. I figured the reset for it I could just roll as a BW recharge and call it a day. I gave the spider the fiendish template as a natural adaptation function. All in all I went kinda easy on ya ... then again Berri needed a little help. |
