It is a place where monks can join together to train, and to study with one another. It encourages not only the betterment of one's physical body, but of the spirit as well. Ideas such as good and evil must be left at the door, though the abbey does oppose those who seek to control others, as Brackin belives each man should be free to live his own life as he sees fit, as long as that man adhears to the "spiritual laws", which outweight any "mortal laws" in Brackin's opinion. Anyone who has any training as a monk, and the wisdom to put it to use, is welcome in the abbey. |

| Limit05-05-04, 12:17 AM | The Voiceless joins the Abbey (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?perpage=1&s=&postid=3330113#post3330113) |
| Arstimis05-05-04, 02:33 AM | Kiowen stumbles through the door, after having a long journey upon Swifter. "I've have been gone a while, but i am happy to see that such a place has been created so that I may meet with others that share the same goals as me." "So far my search for an ally has proved useless, time flying seems to go by so fast" "If it would be allowed, I would like to be a part of this guild. If anyone knows someone, or something that would be able to serve me as a good allie, then please tell me" Allie can be ECL 6....if anyone has any good ideas |
| MotherBast05-05-04, 04:09 PM | Brackin clasps Kiowen's arm in welcome. If Kiowen needs good allie to fight with, Brackin always like fighting with Rogue. They be sneaky, so they can stay out of sight and not get killed, and when I grapple enimey, Rogue can then stab them where it hurts most. A grappled target is denied its dex vs. attacker, so a rogue allie could sneak attack the crap out of anyone you grappled. You might even try a Rogue 3/Wiz 3 and have him attack with rays and range touches while you grapple. You might also concider either buying a Cloak of Chaisma or getting a permanet Eagle's Splender effect cast on you so you could attain a better allie. With a couple more levels, you could build yourself a nice Arcane Trickster that would complement your abilities very well. |
| Market_Share05-06-04, 02:11 PM | SPIKE wishes to join the Monk's Abbey. I would love nothing more than to slay every member of "The Comittee". So, uh, when do we start cleaving heads? SPIKE! |
| MotherBast05-13-04, 08:46 PM | Brackin walks into the Abbey. Voiceless, you fight good in last fight, make Abbey proud. Brackin pleased. Perhaps you give Kiowen lessen Kiowen can use in fight with Dra'kel. Dra'kel is monk too, but join Druids with Jindl instead. Powerful man, in powerful group. Kiowen must fight well, and with honor. Tell Kiowen how Voiceless defeated his foe! For a moment Kiowen and Brackin waited for The Voiceless to begin speaking of his most recent victory. After a moment, it finaly dawned on them why he was called "The Voiceless." Humm.... Brackin like people who don't talk. To much talking make Brackin want to punch people in the face to make them shut up. And with that, Brackin walked into the back room to begin training, leaving Kiowen and The Voiceless to wonder about their leader as they exchanged quizical glances. |
| kedi05-14-04, 04:10 AM | Felis enters and wanders around. "I wish to join this organization. Down with comitee! What? Ale? GREAT!" |
| Limit05-14-04, 10:08 AM | It was... well, it was a great honor to join the Monk's Abbey in the first place. He had spent a lot of time scrubbing floors and replacing rotted wood, but his first fight under the Abbey's banner had been exhilarating. He won his first fight, and even got praise from the Abbey's leader for it. He couldn't have explained his fighting strategy if he tried - it was mostly "Don't Die" but it seemed to work well for him. |
| Boldrift-Mattock05-16-04, 08:39 PM | The rain seems to want to fall at an angle. Sitting in the rain surrounded by the local bums is a man robed in black. He watches the men shoot dice with one eye and the other stays on the door and exit to the abby in town, for two days now without rest he has watched this door and only males walk in and out. No sign of his lothed enemy. He did have the pleasure of seeing her destroyed in the arena just the other day but was not able to catch up with her afterward to follow her to her home. He will find her. His attion draw to the abby door as a large half orce files out. Shaking his head he turns back to the game at hand and back to thinking of the ways he will kill that Lillith. |
| MotherBast05-17-04, 07:09 AM | Brackin looks at the expectend Felis. He takes the mesure of the man for a moment before speeking. Felis not yet strong enough. Fight more, get stronger and come back and test skill with us. OOC: Kedi, I belive in the guild roster thread there is a rule about only level 4 or higher characters counting twords guild membership, so gain one more level and then you can join. |
| Gonbow08-15-05, 02:31 PM | A tall figure walks down a dusty road, cloaked in a brown canvas robe, it's hood and overlong sleeves conceal nearly everything about it. The buildings in this area are partially delapated, the eternal renewal of the Nimbus has abandoned them it seems. Pausing at the entrance to temple, a long-fingered yellow hand emerges from the overlong sleeve of the robe, running fingertips over the aged wood of the door. A pause, then the hand curls like a dying spider into a fist, rapping sharply at the door. Santos Fi'Corma awaits a response, wondering if this long-ago abbey is still active, and if it would accept him into its ranks. [OOC: So... Is there anyone still running this organization? The information about guilds seems a little contradictory, and the only 2 active guilds either have utterly no need for Santos (ETHC) or do not take just anyow (The mage guild), so... bah :P] |
| Vathelokai08-16-05, 04:54 PM | I wouldn't mind trying to get this thing up. I love the organizations, and I think my Jodan char. would have a ball here. I'm super busy this week, but I'll try to get something up here. |
