Remember to have Aiewae make her own spot and listen checks as well. - If spells fail Snaga is in trouble. Use x-bow, fire a shot then retreat. Next round run to maximum distance and reload. Redo from start. (Hopefully his goblin 30’ speed should give him enough distance to load and fire and not enter melee.) - Never cast a spell so as to provoke an attack of opportunity. Either take a 5 foot step or if that is, for some reason, impossible cast defensively. - Use Aiewae to deliver all touch attacks. History: Snaga is not spoken of in the prophecy. He is not deposed royalty, or “from a different world” he doesn’t have amnesia, or a mysterious parentage, and he is certainly not favored by the gods! He’s just a goblin with some drive and he resents the implication that any success he’s had is due to something other than hard work! He spent his youth like most of his brethren; scraping out a living in abandoned Dwarven mines and scavenging the remains of fallen adventurers (he found that Halflings always had the best leavings). But a crippling fever left him physically frail and soured his taste for evil. He was forced to learn how to use his cunning and his powers of persuasion in order to stay alive. When his clan was captured and enslaved by a powerful Drow Wizard: Ragdahazt, he managed to ingratiate himself to the powerful mystic, working as his librarian. Little did Ragdahazt know that this unassuming little helper to whom he only referred as “Snaga” (Goblin for “slave”) was learning the art of magic, in secret, while the rest of the clan slept. Things moved predictably from there. Snaga became overconfident, Ragdahazt became suspicious, and Snaga “accidentally” gave a rival band of hobgoblins the location of a secret passageway that led directly into Ragdahazt’s inner sanctum. Snaga thought it prudent to leave at that point. Goals: 1. To compile a “complete spell book.” Basically he wants to be able to cast every spell on the Wizard list. He will overspend, grossly, to advance this goal. 2. To found a “civilized Goblin city.” 3. To find a way to reduce the cost of both 1 and 2. Personality: Snaga is intellectual to the extreme. He a can be a tad snobby at times (a trait he picked up from Ragdahazt) but he’s surprisingly likable (for a goblin). He cares nothing for tradition as tradition dictates that he and all his kind should live lives of squalor and violence. His philosophy on magic is that if its study is advanced it will radically alter society. He has no problem with this and seeks to hasten the transformation. He has very small handwriting and gives an excellent lecture. ... |
| Vathelokai09-21-07, 02:09 AM | Snaga sat outside the arena cradling Aiewaie’s limp lifeless body in his lap. With the most delicate care his skilled hands could muster, he gingerly removed the small bits of lead and shrapnel from his familiar’s wounds. Then the nimbus took her and she shuddered back to life. As if coming out of a deep slumber she turned and fixed her eye on her master. “Did we win?” Snaga let the despair he felt in his own heart tremble down the line of their emphatic connection. Their hearts sorrow was as one, humming like the string of a lyre. “What do we do now, master?” “We leave this place, tonight.” The small goblin walked down the stairs from the private rooms, through the halls of the main building of the campus. The building seemed entirely deserted with everyone, students and staff, defending the campus from outside attacks. Snaga cuts through the main hall, passing the massive double doors that lead outside, and continues through a side door, down a hall, and finds a stairwell leading down. "Master, where are we going?" The raven sounded almost nervous. Snaga let a glimmer of hope shine on the familiar, then pulled a piece of parchment from a hidden pocket. It was small and quickly written. Snaga, I understand that you joined the Order to increase your libraries. My apologies that the War has interupted our persuits. If you feel up to it, I would like you to visit an old arcane stronghold that we lost contact with some years ago. Caliandra will be able to send you via teleportation circle (the room is in the first basement). All the best, Magister Quinton Snaga explained the note to Aiewaie as they decended under the Main Hall. With spirits slightly higher, they entered the teleportation chamber. Cali, a human woman with shoulder length brown hair and glasses motions them over to the center of the room. "We'll be keeping an eye on you, incase something unexpected happens. Have fun out there." She seems honest, but the last phrase holds a hint of something; wistful jelousy? Maybe. The room fades away and is replaced piece by piece. Broken pillar, pool of water, hanging moss, stagnant air, whistling breeze, cold stones. Snaga's eyes adjust to the strange underground cavern. There is no light, but before him is a large pool, seemingly natural. Before he gets his bearings, Snaga spots something about his size and humanoid shaped, standing in the water. Without warning it shrieks, lunging forward. From closer up, it seems the thing is made entirely of water, though it's features are far more clear than the elementals that Snaga has seen before. It sprays water from it's mouth. Snaga throws up his cloak, blocking nearly all of it. The water that does hit burns like a salted wound. He can smell the metalic stentch of his cloak sizzling from the acid. No knowledge skill for the monster. It's 15 ft away from you, standing in water. The edge of the water is 5 ft from you. The water doesn't look deep (difficult terrain, but no swim or anything). It won init and used a breath weapon on you. You made the save and took 3 dmg. Your move. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-21-07, 02:22 PM | In the past Snaga might have reached for his cross-bow counting on his skill with Bessie, or he’s have retreated and looked for a hiding space, relying on his small size and ability to remain unseen, but with the acrid odor stinging his nostrils and the rush of fear sweeping over him he instinctively reaches for his Spell pouch. The words come to his lips, his movements, swift and sure. The air crackles rapidly alternating between pitch Blackness and Dazzlingly bright light. Incidentally Snaga’s version of Colorspray is black and white because he learned it using darkvision. Cast Colorspray (I think I can hit it from where I am standing). If he makes his save then retreat. Aiewaie stays on Snaga. |
| Vathelokai09-21-07, 11:48 PM | Flickering strobe lights light up the chamber. The water creature covers it's eyes and chitters, stumbling around unable to see. Failed the save and now has 4 rounds of blind and stun. It had nothing in it's hands to drop. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-22-07, 02:32 PM | Snaga's left eye widens, the already large pupil Swelling until it almost fills his apple-sized eye. He opens his mouth and an otherworldly susurrant murmur washes over the creature. “Sleep, Sleep, down to the depths. Head in the sand, into the roots of your mother river, hear the whispers of fish, the ripples of reeds, the far off sound of sea. Dream of the reef and Sleep.” Snaga casts Sleep. |
| Vathelokai09-22-07, 03:01 PM | The monster seems uneffected. In fact, it continues to thrash around, rubbing at it's eyes. Splashing water all over Snaga. It made the save |
| The Dread Dormammu09-22-07, 03:24 PM | Remember Snaga's DC on Sleep is 17 not 15 thanks to Greater Spell Focus (Enchantment). I don't know if that changes anything. 2 questions: 1. How long does it take to use a pearl of Power? I can't seem to find it listed in the description. 2. Is it too dark to read scrolls? |
| Vathelokai09-22-07, 03:30 PM | Remember Snaga's DC on Sleep is 17 not 15 thanks to Greater Spell Focus (Enchantment). I don't know if that changes anything. 2 questions: 1. How long does it take to use a pearl of Power? I can't seem to find it listed in the description. 2. Is it too dark to read scrolls? It rolled exactly a 17 (it has a +3, just didn't put it in the roller). Pearl of power takes 1 standard action. Standard action is the default for any magic item that doesn't say otherwise. You can read scrolls. There is dim light, but not enough to see the full area. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-22-07, 04:19 PM | Snaga held the pearl in his hand and felt the the spell as it was drawn back into his mind, reeled in like a fishing line. Again he began to chant. Before he spoke of the river, but now he turned his thoughts west, toward the sea. The tide is rising little one, sink my sweet. Sun sets, moon rises. Waves rock the sea-god's child. Mother Thetis carries her beloved babe beneath the waves, bathed in salty, silent, tears. Where do you dream little one? In the dark shade of kelp forests where moonlight shadows play on sand? The fishing boats are dark outlines and cool frost rimes their wooden hulls. I think there is enough time to draw a pearl (Move action) re-prepare sleep (standard action). And recast sleep (full round action) before my time is up. |
| Vathelokai09-22-07, 05:28 PM | It rolled a 20 on the second sleep save. You have one more full round before it acts. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-22-07, 07:40 PM | Aiewaie looks askance at her master not wanting to be resurrected again. Snaga ignores her. having pulled down on his opponent's mind for so long decides to push it up. “Allow me to venture a guess, It was the boats that woke you? You thought to go aboard for some man-flesh? I can never sleep when I'm hungry!” Snaga casts Hideous Laughter if the creature makes it's save he'll retreat. |
| Vathelokai09-22-07, 11:17 PM | The creature hisses in defiance. Snaga pauses for a second; maybe the hiss is it's version of laughter. But then the creature begins to speak. Snaga does not know the language, but he does recognize the intricate movements of a summon spell when he sees one. Rules note: you don't have to draw a pearl of power to use it. It is slot-less, so it only has to be in your spell component pouch (or any other pocket). Hideous laugh failed due to the "+4 for different creature type" clause in the spell description. Snaga rolled high enough to easily identify the summoning spell like ability, a common outsider trait. It function just like summon monster 2, except the durration is 1 hour. Most likely it is summoning something identical to itself, or something very similar. The dice are rolling very high in this fight. The average of d20s for you and the monster is 13. Rather unfair I think. Round by round summary... round 1 Thing moves and uses breath weapon. Snaga saves, takes 3 dmg. Snaga moves and casts color spray. Thing fails; stunned and blinded for 4 rounds. round 2 Thing stunned (1) Snaga casts sleep. Thing saves. round 3 Thing stunned (2) Snaga uses pearl of power round 4 Thing stunned (3) Snaga casts sleep. Thing saves. round 5 Thing stunned (4) Snaga casts hideous laughter. Thing saves. Snaga moves. round 6 Thing uses a full round spell-like ability. A second thing begins to appear. Snaga... (30 ft away) |
| The Dread Dormammu09-23-07, 01:09 PM | Tactics Question: is it possible for me to disrupt the spell, or are spell like abilities not disruptable? If Aiewaie charges she might be able to hit with Shocking grasp. Sorry one other question, the extra round of stunning was already included in the original 4 yes? |
| Vathelokai09-23-07, 01:18 PM | Spell like work just like normal spells, so you can disrupt it. The description says it works just like summon monster, so it's a full round action. Stun... oops. Forgot that it was 1d4+1 (was thinking 1d4 for some reason). You get one more action before it begins summoning... |
| The Dread Dormammu09-23-07, 02:52 PM | Ah well if that's the case perhaps it would be best to use the bat swarm now. But again, sorry, I have questions. 1. Will the bat swarm attack the thing? 2. Can I maintain concentration on the swarm and still use my crossbow? |
| Vathelokai09-23-07, 04:28 PM | bat swarm attacks whatever is closest on it's initiative. Once you summon it, you can move away. Concentrating on an active spell is a standard action, so no you cannot do anything other than move or draw items while concentrating on it. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-23-07, 06:06 PM | Ok, ok forget the bat swarm, tell me if I'm wrong. If I reprepair sleep, and cast it and it fails it's save it will fall asleep before it can be done with it's own full round summon right? Him falling asleep will spoil the summon? |
| Vathelokai09-23-07, 10:32 PM | Correct |
| The Dread Dormammu09-24-07, 03:16 PM | Ok let’s do it, if for no other reason than it’s dramatic: A race to complete a spell! Snaga sees the creature’s eyes clear and knows he has mere seconds to cast another spell. He reels back on the thread of magic and tries for a third cast. As the effects of the spell wane, the creature begins casting a spell of his own. The cavern echoes with the hurried murmurs of arcane phrases. Each caster, aware that the other one is casting, tries to make the words come faster, to shorten the gestures without ruining the spell. A liquid from begins to take shape while the strands of sleep, hastily woven, begin to ensnare the mind of Snaga’s foe. Snaga blurts out the final words just before the creature. SLEEP! |
| Vathelokai09-25-07, 01:54 AM | and it finally fails a save! Now what to do with it? Sorry, no time to RP just now. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-25-07, 02:07 PM | Snaga stands for a moment breathing heavily. The half-formed water summon sloshes back into the pool and for a moment he can only hear dripping. Excellent work Master. It only took what, almost all of your mystic reserves? Snaga is too proud of himself to hear Aiewae’s sarcasm and too thrilled about casting real magic against a real foe to think about conserving his resources. He steps away from the water and feels a charge flowing into Aiewae. Aiewaie uses Shocking Grasp to deliver a coup de grace. |
| Vathelokai09-25-07, 09:17 PM | Not enough dmg, but the water mephit fails the save and dies. I'll get the next phase up a little bit after pairings. Sorry for the delay. |
| The Dread Dormammu09-26-07, 05:09 PM | Snaga squats down to peer into the innards of his foe, watching in fascination as parts of it begin to melt away, losing form and becoming primal water. He greedily scoops a few drops into a small vial that he tucks away into his spell pouch. Then, still burdened by curiosity, he scoops some of the 'blood' streaming from the shock-blast and tastes it. Aiewae looks on; turning her head this way and that glancing from her master to the corpse. “Is it a Mephit perhaps, master?” “I thought so too my pet, but then again I thought they were more inclined to look more in the form of a pieces, or whatever the common word for them is.” “Fish, Master” “Right they look in the form of fish. No I think this is something quite different. I’ll make a note of it.” Snaga takes out his spell book to make an entry on this new foe. “Gilrk!* how in typical fashion of me to forget my quill!” He casts greedy eyes at Aiewaie. “No thank you master! You’ve plucked quite enough of my feathers, for your pens already! Next you’ll want to use my blood for ink. Besides I’m sure once we find the Library…” "I do apologize. Well shall we proceed? Why don’t you sneak on ahead and tell dear Snaga what’s around the next bend. Don’t worry my pet I’ll be right behind you." *A Curse in Giant. Aiewae moves to scout ahead using hide and move silently. Snaga is 35 feet behind, doing the same. |
| Vathelokai10-01-07, 12:22 AM | It occurs to both of them to be silent while moving around the strange cavern. They walk straight until they find a wall, then follow it. It seems that it was once a square room with slots in the stones for wooden beams. Maybe the cavern was divided into rooms. They find cracks in the foundation where the water is seeping in. The floor is quite uneven creating large pools through out. After a full circle, they find only one stair leading up. Aiwaie flies up to the top, then back down. "Nothing to be seen, master." Snaga grunts, and proceeds up the stairs cautiously. He sees nothing at the top, but as he steps forward the floor gives way beneath him. The goblin plummets back down to the stone foundation amid broken and rotted beams. He hits hard and everything goes black as he hits the ground. Aiwaie dives down the shaft after him, finding the body unconscious. Suddenly fearing for his own existence, the familiar kicks his masters cloak aside to find the row of potions on his belt. None are marked, but the raven has been shown which one is for such emergencies. It grabs one vial with a talon and flutter-hops up to the goblins head. Balancing precariously, it pecks at the cork stopper until the fluid begins to leak. After a moment, Snaga sputters. With some effort, he opens his eyes. Failed save and fell into a pit trap. 15 dmg. Aiewaie fed Snaga a potion of cure lt. and now Snaga is at exactly 0 hp. You can take 10 to climb back out (rough walls and support beams to climb on). |
| The Dread Dormammu10-01-07, 03:26 PM | “Aiewaie my little savior, I feel a likeness to Trochiea when Drogan plucked him from the river* your firm little claw taking the place of her Dwarven arm.” Snaga looks around, his goblin eyes assessing the situation. “It’s passing strange, to die (or at least approach death) out here, away from the nimbus. The descent is swift and the nimbus doesn’t tug upwards at your consciousness. Remind me to die by falling when we get back to Gladius will you my sweet? I have to see if it feels the same. There’s a treatise on necromancy to be written here.” Snaga Starts to sit up but draws a sharp breath through his teeth when he feels his ribs moving on their own. “And the pain is nearer too!” “Master you are injured. We need to leave this place.” “No, no my little savior, I’ll be alright I think. Besides I still have a scroll…” Snaga grunts in pain as he begins the climb upwards his small hands gripping the grimy walls. “It won’t last forever master. Better wait to use it.” *A Dwarven Myth. Snaga looks around, is there anything down here? Snaga takes 10 to climb out then continues his search. Same strategy as before. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-03-07, 02:33 PM | Also Snaga has his Scroll of "false life" drawn. |
| Vathelokai10-05-07, 12:41 AM | The goblin explores the hallways. There are other sections of floor that have fallen through, and he is careful with his step. Many of the doors are shattered, opening onto empty cobweb filled rooms. Eventually he finds a room with a missing wall. Outside it is midnight and the dim moonlight highlights mountains and cliffs. This is apparently a difficult to reach old citadel. Moving back into the building, Snaga finds no signs of life. He does find a stairwell leading up. Nervous about more collapses, he sends Aiewaie forward. The raven returns stating that the upper floor is in better shape. Snaga quickly sees for himself that it is true. The upper rooms show signs of still functioning unseen servants doing cleaning. Some of the doors are wizard locked. Examining the markings above the doors, he finds one that should be a library. The door is jammed, but not locked. He quickly opens the door to a room filled with books. He stops to look and listen, but doesn't sense anything. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Vathelokai/CoCo%20Maps/library1.jpg Red dot in the hall is Snaga. You can see most of the room through empty spaces on shelves, but not clearly. The one on the left that has layed out papers and scrolls is a counter and not a bookshelf. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-05-07, 01:03 PM | Snaga feels that special thrill that is unique to wizards who happen to be in the presence of scrolls or old books. Feeling his ribs shift again he closes the door as quietly as possible, backs down the hall and begins to uncoil necromantic energies from the scroll. He weaves the threads of magic through his own fractured bones until he can breathe without wincing. Then he turns to his familiar, wrapping her in a protective web of energy and infusing her tissues with preternatural vigor. Snaga’s nimble fingers then close around another scroll. Close door and move back down hall. Aiewaie alights on shoulder, cast False life from scroll and share with Aiewae. Draw scroll of invisibility. |
| Vathelokai10-06-07, 12:58 PM | Snaga cautiously reads his scroll, breathing difficultly. He listens intently, but nothing stirs. 10 hp from false life. For speed, I'll mention that you won't hear anything until your actually inside the room. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-06-07, 01:49 PM | Sanga whispers to Aiewae, First my foe will see too few goblins, and then too many! Snaga casts Invisibility from scroll and Mirror Image from memory (when invisibility drops the mirror images appear right?) and heads in to the room moving silently. |
| Vathelokai10-06-07, 06:13 PM | Snaga sneaks into the room. As his foot brushes across the faded rug, he sees dim lights in the back of the library, then two large things moving behind the bookshelves. It quickly occurs to him that it must be some kind of summoning trap to guard the room. Perhaps that's why there is so little damage in here. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Vathelokai/CoCo%20Maps/library2.jpg |
| The Dread Dormammu10-06-07, 06:35 PM | Snaga doesn't wait to see what they are he just begins casting and hopes the bats don't damage the books. Summon swarm from scroll. (That won't spoil invisibility 'cause it's summoning right?) |
| Vathelokai10-06-07, 06:45 PM | As long as you don't summon them in the opponent's square, yes you'll still be invisible. Cooking dinner. Will get more of this later. |
| Vathelokai10-07-07, 11:15 PM | The swarm of bats appears in the center of the library, but doesn't respond to anything. Snaga watches both shapes move closer. The bats see them too, and pick one, flying over the low table of scrolls. Before the bats surround it, Snaga gets a clear view. It's some sort of large wilderness beast, covered in black fur. It has impressive looking claws and teeth. It yelps in pain when the bats descend on it. Snaga hears clopping from the other direction and is surprised to spot a horse round the book case. It sniffs at the air and looks around with an intelligent squint to it's eyes. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Vathelokai/CoCo%20Maps/library3.jpg Snaga draws scroll and summons bats at max range. Bats don't sense anything so they delay. Bear double moves toward casting sounds. Bats move into bears square. Bears is wounded and bleeding, but not nauseated. Horse double moves. Knows someone is there due to scent. Snaga's up... |
| The Dread Dormammu10-08-07, 03:25 AM | Snaga knows his only hope is to keep the spell intact. He can feel, locked in his mind, the multitude of bats. Their tumbling, churning, chirruping, many-fanged mass is held together only by force of will. Drops of sweat begin to form on his furrowed brow and his eyes narrow to slits. The sound of the Bear in its agony, the bats screaming chirps pouring forth from a thousand throats, and the horror he feels as he stares at the huge beasts. All these distractions tug at Snaga's mind, threatening to spoil his concentration. (No. Don't try to force the thoughts out, simply let them pass you by. The sounds are nothing, your fear is nothing, thoughts are nothing, there is only the spell). Focusing, Snaga ignores all else and continues to let the river of mystic energy flow through him. Move towards the center of the room as quietly as possible and away from the horse (that's half speed?) maintain concentration on the spell. |
| Vathelokai10-09-07, 01:08 AM | Sorry for the slow pace. I've had a lot of things go bad this month, and have been a bit too busy at home. I can either let this fight run late, or you can give me a strategy for the rest of the fight. Your choice. Keep in mind that concentrating to keep the bats going is a standard action, and moving half speed means you are only going 10 ft per round. Since you're invis it works, but if the animals get within 5 ft, they know your square from scent. Also, the concentration just keeps the bats from disappearing. They are not under your control and attack the closest creature; if you get too close (say the bear comes over to your area) it could get dangerous. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-09-07, 01:52 PM | Sorry to hear about your family troubles, I hope everything is alright. Don’t worry if you have to delay the fight, I’d rather have to take little longer to win than try to rush with sloppy tactics and fail. However, having said that, I can give a general outline of the strategy with the Caveat that I’d like to be able to update the strategy if something unexpected happens. The basic strategy is to keep the Bats attacking the horse and bear while evading all three. Half speed should be 15 ft. per round since Goblin speed is 30 ft. However seeing as they have scent, it might be wise to just move at full speed seeing as their Scent ability will locate my general direction just as well as a successful listen check. Aiewae can take a ready action to charge attack and draw away a creature that gets too close. Her objective is to draw the creatures away from Snaga so he can maintain concentration. Basically the priorities go as follows (from most important to least): 1: Keep out of my own damn bat swarm (this goes for Aiewae too). Blind sense is only 20’ so as long as Snaga isn’t in line with their attack and invisible he should be ok. 2: Maintain concentration on the bats. As long as Snaga is alive there is no way the foes can survive (wounding and the bat’s invulnerability to attacks mean these 2 are dead regardless if Snaga lives or dies). 3: Don’t get close enough to be pinpointed, but if it seems like I’m going to be pinpointed every round, use Aiewae to distract. If she’s being ignored, better to drop invisibility and count on the mirror images instead. Let me know if you have any questions about what’s above. |
| Vathelokai10-14-07, 01:19 PM | Rules notes: I rolled mirror image and got the minimum of 2 images. This would make the odds of getting hurt worse for mirror image than invisibility, so I stuck with invis. Scent is defined as being as accurate as sight is for a humanoid, so the horse can tell the difference between you and your familiar. Snaga concentrates and moves Bear delays to the horse. Bats bite on the bear for 6 dmg, but bear is not nauseated. Horse scents and moves to base Snaga. Bear moves to base, Snaga. Snaga moves invisibly away and concentrates. Bats move to horse, bite for 6. Horse is not nauseated. Horse sniffs and moves to base Snaga. Bear moves next to horse and attacks random square. Misses Snaga. Snaga concentrates and moves away Bats move and bite horse for 1. Horse is not nauseated. Horse sniffs and moves. Bear moves and attacks random square. It picks the right square, but misses due to concealment. Snaga concentrates and moves. Bats move and bite bear for 4 dmg. Horse sniffs and moves. Bear moves and attacks a random square. The bear gets a lucky shot with a claw and does 8 dmg to Snaga. Snaga looses concentration on the bat swarm. Snaga is down to 2 hp. Snaga double moves. Bats move and bite bear. Bear dies from blood loss and disappears. Horse finally hears the goblin, moves in, auto detects with scent and attacks. It misses due to concealment. Snaga double moves. Bats move and bite horse for 2 dmg, then disappear. Horse is not nauseated. Horse has 10 hp remaining. It easily hears Snaga, so it moves in and attacks. It misses due to concealment. Snaga ? [2 temp hp, invis, 2 mirror images] Horse ? [10 hp, bleeding 1hp/round] Notes: gotten really lucky so far. Until the last 2 rounds, the horse has been having to use scent to find you because of bad listen rolls, and the concealment rolls have been on your side. The horse is twice as fast as you, so it's doubtful you'll be able to avoid it too much. Also, some metagame info: leaving the room resets the summoning trap, so you cannot lock it in the room and wait for it to bleed to death (or at least you wouldn't want to). Your move; the first post is updated with what spells and scrolls you have used. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-15-07, 03:15 PM | Snagas anger burns, to have come so far and yet be so near failure makes his blood boil. Seeing the Beast’s sharp ears turn towards him gives him an idea. “Cursed beast! Nar Udautas!* Mirdautas vras!* DEATH STALKS YOU! Creeeeaww!” Snaga casts Ghost Sound, summoning the sound of 3 Speaking Ravens, 6 Spell casting Goblins (footfalls included), and one very loud (3 human voices worth) Screaming goblin voice. Snaga then moves away and holds as still as possible. Meanwhile Aiewaie sensing Snaga’s thoughts reaches into the spell pouch and grabs a thunder stone. Aiewaie and Snaga will wait the three rounds until Ghost sound expires then Aiewae will use a ready action to charge forward and use a thunderstone (she’ll have both if one fails) on the horse while Snaga retreats. Aiewaie will attack the horse nonstop. *Orcish and Goblin |
| Vathelokai10-16-07, 12:27 AM | Snaga moves and casts ghost sound The horse sniffs and moves. Snaga double moves away. The horse sniffs and moves. Snaga double moves. Aiewae readies. The horse sniffs and moves. Ghost sound ends. Snaga moves. Aiewae's ready occurs. She flies out of the invisibility and drops a thunderstone on the horse. The horse fails it's save and is deafened. Snaga finishes his move. The horse sniffs and moves. The horse chases for 6 rounds, but cannot catch the goblin. It bleeds to death and vanishes. Success. The horse failing the thunderstone save was all you really needed. Appologies for the lack of RP. |
| The Dread Dormammu10-16-07, 12:34 PM | Thank you very much for a thoroughly enjoyable quest. You were an excellent DM, competent with the mechanics and Great with RP and descriptions. I hope we can do it again sometime. Thanks again! |
