Character Background: Bailin was always kind of a loaner among the wood elves, growing up he played the games with the kids and alwsys had a knack for winning Hide and Seek. He honed this skill and became one of the best hunters in the area, he wasn't know really for the ability to track pray but more for finding a spot and remaining unseen for as long as it takes. Now he didn't do bad for himself but learned there were better ways for people of his skill to make a living and was soon contacted by a thieves guild that had interest in him. After a few test and jobs he adopted the name most people use in refference to him, The Shadow. He would do about anything you asked if the price was right for him and it envolved his expertise. It wasn't long until he heard of the great arena city of Gladdius, were a mere commonner could etch out fame and fortune, he really liked the sound of the fortune part. So here he now finds himself ready to try his hand at the arena and already securing some possible work with a new guild. Life is currently good. King Uther 06-09-05, 11:50 AM	The Secretary of Defense, a Duergar by the name of Gribbin McSnade, was a harsh man, but honorable. He had spent two weeks at the outpost at this point, going over paperwork and watching the scenes from the West. It seemed as if an invasion was imminent... The towering structure he was in was hard to invade, so he was completely safe from an assault, especially from the likes of any assassins. Gribbin liked safe. The troops were doing training exercises today, and he would watch all alone on his balcony. The stage was set... Two Guards sat at the entrance, a decrepid stone foundation lay before them. It used to hold some importance, but the tower was built around that structure, but 5 pillars still remained. "I can't believe we might get invaded by the Hordes of Siirgath. I thought it was only a rumor, but after seeing that undead rider, I'm not so sure." "Hey, don't be so scared. We have a huge military, and some of the most powerful gladiators in the world. Malither76 06-09-05, 05:49 PM	so its daytime, if thats the case shadow will start by drinking his potion of invisibility, he will then sneak up to the top pilliar on the top left from there he will tap his tatoo of drink his elixer of hide which last an hour then tap a tatoo of chameleon, if one of the guards are human the first shot will be with a bane arrow, and snipe, this strategy will be comunicated with Nyte so that we will both get a surprise round.. Make sure to not do full moves and to use Move Silent, that should cover the surprise round and first action, if same guard is still up that bane arrow hit sneak attack again and snipe for round 1

The time is nigh for the Hands of Death to once again strangle life away from poor, reckless fools. The 2nd guard is a weak human, and so the assassins aim and fire. Malither76 06-10-05, 05:28 PM	Well that worked well, if the other guard is not human then go to regular arrows if he is put a bane arrow in him, this needs to be quick and efficient, either way you can keep sniping until he sees me

Lets drag these bodies away and stow them were they won't be noticed, mabie we can keep our presense here a secret for awhile..Shadow will search and empty all pockets to obtain keys and any other valuables once we have the bodies out from in front of the place. When all that is done I suggest we disguise ourselves as these two, fittingly a human and an elf, my diguise isn't great but if possible I will take 20 doing it...

King Uther 06-12-05, 01:54 AM	Shadow searches the dead bodies, and on the human he discovers a set of keys, three to be exact. One stands out, but its label appears to be worn ad unreadable. Nyte begins to put clothes on, making sure he duplicates the dead human's look as much as possible. Shadow then does the same, and in moments they could blend in easily among the troops. Shadow pulls the keys out, pushes the conspicuous one in the door, and the door opens easily, allowing the two entrance into a den of warriors. The stone structure was laid out so everything is in squares, as if the architect was afraid to have an assymetrical building. But over the years, the best parts have decroded, leaving only a glimpse at the glory that was once known here. It looked like an ancient kingdom used this as a first defense, perhaps as a warning even. The obscurity of the tower indicated that they believed a threat lie beyond it, perhaps something terrible... Now they have to dodge the patrols..... For fun, you guys roll your stealth rolls on Invisible Castle here. (http://invisiblecastle.com/rolldice.py) Label your rolls in the character name slot HandsQuest3 so they can be easily found. Malither76 06-12-05, 10:53 AM	well, Shadow's disguise is a 26 since he took 20 while doing it and for small details it gets a +5 bonus, notice if any guards were friends with the two we killed they will get a bonus to there spot, but I'm trying not to track attention by moving silently and hiding when posible my move silent is a 10+14=24 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=103291) and my hide when I can will be 16+37=53 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=103292) that is if chameleon is still going if it weres off of course it is 10 less but I think I'm safe with a 43.

Four heavily armed guards roam the passage, and only through stealth were they able to dodge an unneeded fight. (Listens of 6, 9, 11 and 13) After searching for this commander, they finally spotted him, and followed him into what appeared to be a storage facility. Gribbin was eyeing some of the items he "confiscated" from a local "evil" village chief. It seems he was not a very honorable Secretary of Defense. But no matter, the Hands of Death have descended upon the poor Duergar. Nyte shifts his weight and the Duergar hears the subtle sound of rock moving. He turns to notice a foot hanging out! His enemy will feel his wrath... He snipes using his Psionic Focus and using his PP in his bow. After the shot Nyte takes a step over and hides behind the box

Malither76 06-19-05, 01:08 AM	A spot check at DC 20 lets you detect an ivisibile creature when you know there present, it doesn't negate the invis or anything but it detects them, if you stand still while invis the DC increases to 40. After seeing Nyte put an arrown in the dwarf (hopefully) Shadow will ready to snipe when the dwarf turns to go after Nyte, basicaly doing the same thing as Nyte on oposite side.

Now knowing where they were going, the return trip was much easier, and in 20 minutes they were out. It was a warm, humid day. Nyte and Shadow were exiting the tower, and down the road back to Gladius were headed. Trying to remain unseen, they dodge through the woods in an effort to stay off of the beaten path. They both simultaneously stop, as an image is seen through the trees. In a moment it is gone, as if perhaps a mirage. Sweat poured from their brows, the heat was almost choking the air. Malither76 06-27-05, 06:34 PM	ah an archer dual it is, Shadow will gain cover from a tree if possible, if not then he will stay in place and fire again at the one he and Nyte hit, if I can get cover great, I only want to do a 30' move to gain cover though so I can still fire, no matter what fire, move toward cover then fire if possible, and at the end of action drop to a knee to gain an extra +2 to ac thanks

But from your position you negate Archer 1's cover. They're names are Auronach and Reggie. But you'll probably never get a proper intro. Shadow then drops to one knee to make himself more difficult to hit. Nyte fires at the same spot as before. Nyte has total cover versus Reggie, but negates Auronach's cover. Knowing he was not seen by at least one, Auronach fires at Nyte.
