Wanna bet? - Tarrasque vs PC Competition [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-25-04, 12:25 PM As our dear MM's greatest creature, at least by abilities, and heck by anything, is IMO not that powerful, I wished to get tarrasque with a MAX ECL 11 MIN ECL 6 character. This character will apply every CoCo rules made up so far.

I first want to hear if I could make it, and need a volunteer pitlord to moderate this fight. I can make the character sheet ready by tuesday evening.

This ain't a joke. I've found the greatest weakness of Tarrasque.

[Note: If approved by GMs, I'd really like to bet on that I can take down tarrasque with a MAX ECL 11 MIN ECL 6 character with credits. :schemes:]

07-25-04, 12:55 PM a 0-level commoner can kill a tarrasque, don't be ridiculous. This stuff isn't for the CoCo. Please post it in a relevant area of the WoTC boards.

07-26-04, 02:13 AM Lol, the only thing that makes the tarrasque difficult is that nasty "Wish" or "Mirracle" requirement. Other than that, its a piece of cake.

07-26-04, 09:07 AM I suppose you just get a few potions of fly, and a LOT of arrows, fly up a ways, and then shoot the thing until it's down. Of course, as mentioned, you have the problem of needing "Wish" or "Miracle" to finish it off.

The best way to kill it is to ... drown it.

Now, how do you get the tarrasque out in the middle of the ocean?

I think he's referring to the 0-lvl peasant walking out with a trap the soul gem in his belly, walking out and offering himself as a sacrifice to the Tarrasque and since the tarrasque voluntarily took it, he gets no save and no sr. Gone...no need for wish or miracle. Just sacrifice one peasant and be done with it.

Just make sure you keep the gem in a safe place is all. Of course, if you really wanna be cruel (and you're planning to become a lich afterward) is to use said gem as your phylactery.

Hmmm? So to kill the lich, we have to release the tarrasque upon the land? hmmm? Or if they don't see the tarrasque in the phylactery and the extremely brave and fortunate level 9 adventurers, after having depleted their arsenal upon the lich and his minions, just smash the gem without thinking....uh oh!

Here's another one of a similar vein ToK:

A series of liches each trapped in a weaker one's soul gem/phylactery :-P. With each defeated lich, comes a more powerful one.

(Of course, using a soul gem for a phylactery is definetely strecthing the rules anyways, but when you really want to terrify a party...).

Personally, I prefer the Storm Giant Demiliches :D (Large skeletal "hands of doom"... CR ranks around a cool 25 each or so from my recollections)

BTW I was referring to the invisible servant variation; but the peasant is lovable too!

Imprisoning within a Trap the Soul gem is not the same as killing it.

Also, the 0 level commoner didn't defeat the Tarrasque, it was the 17th level Wizard (or 18th level Sorceror) that cast Trap the Soul that defeated it.

07-29-04, 04:37 PM Best way to kill the terrasque: find someone as annoying as, hmm, britney spears, have her sing (or record on a cassette or spell), terrasque finds wizard, and begs to die. Simple and easy.
