I'm back from vacation and I'm trying to catch up on a couple of things, things that aren't very joyful for me. Firstly it has become apparent to me that very few of you took the time to read my post in the tavern that stated that I would be away for a week and that I requested to not be paired for this week and also that I did not want to ref any matchs. The first thing I look at was the pairings and I noticed that my second character is paired and I have to ref 2 matches!!!!!!!! WHY? :mad:

Secondly I looked at my pm box and I noticed that it was filled with people telling me that my last match was wrong and others that have sent me strats for the upcomming matches that I wasn't supposed to match! This has futher supported my first statement and has led me to my next one. WHY? :mad:

With both of these two things taken into consideration I regretting my decision but I am leaving the arena for a long time, I dont' know if I shall actually ever return. It is clear to me that you can't even notice one post where I made my announcment (page 142 of the Tavern thread and in the RttToEE thread) that it will be a waste for me to even continue here. So yes I won't be able to see if Ernie will be able to get another win to get his new mount since his last was killed..... or if Quarion would have been a good build. I will also not be able to finish out the RttToEE game that I wanted to play in since it came out. I'm sorry if I'm being rude but I just can't play any more if no one even notices my one important post...... Good bye

Aramil, please do not lave. I know you're upset (with good reason) but do nto let these minor annoyances drive you away. After all, you certainly won't be penalized for not running fights you didn't request. And I'm sure your chars fight will also not be run, in order to avoid any uneccesary embarassments.

I think you've been a splendid addition to the Arena, and I'd hate to see you leave us. Please, my friend, take a deep breath, relax, remember the (hopefully) good times you've had on your vacation, and don't let the fact that a warning msg got lost in the posting-load (and we do post a lot here at CoCo ;)) upset you.

I know many ppl on the RttToEE thread realized you would be away, and I suppose others simply didn't listen to them.

@Everyone else

So we're not going to be penalizing Aramil at all, alright? And whomever had to run a fight with Aramil's character, I recommend they also simply recieve credit, not run the fight, and enjoy the time off.

This was an error on the majority's part, and I think it would be simplest to just either reassign the fights (I certainly wouldn't mind having an extra one, since I finished my old one by Thursday) and we can all just enjoy ourselves, alright?

[Stick with us pal, please :(]

Sorry bud. That's our mistake. If you'll bear with us, we'll get it straightened out. I'll post back here when we have a solution.

*Sighs*

Well I guess I was overreacting a bit, but I guess I'll wait around to see what your solution is on this, if its a fair on I'll stick around and hope that I never have to go on vacation again, if its not what I like or was looking for then I will take my leave from the arena.

(P.S. Sorry about that Cat, since this would involve the story that involved Quarion, it was a marvelous story its to bad that it might have to be changed somewhat depending on what you guys decide to do. )

@AD:

Yeah, posts on the Tavern go by so fast it's hard to catch up. And as far as Quarion goes, he's lost nothing really. It's a level 2 match and you start back at 0/0 win/loss, and no resources used if any were, and the fights you were assigned can be re-assigned.

So you see, very simple solution.

So in effect, you've lost nothing, so no need to be uspet correct?
My apolagies though nonetheless, i would just ask you to pm the Pitlords account though in the future.

Let's give it another go shall we?

Okay, I have sent a PM to Aramil describing the solution, which, simply put, is that Jaguar receives the win and advances, while Quarion is reset back to his starting wealth and record (0-0).

Additionally, the fights that Aramil was assigned to pitlord shall be reassigned, without penalty.

I hope this resolves the issue to everyone's satisfaction.

As posted elsewhere, but belonging here....

Okay, I understand both sides of this arguement, but not once did I ever see Aramil post "I sent a PM to the PitLords account..." and this is a VERY IMPORTANT fact. Time and again, the GMs have stated that if there is something important about your character status or your status as a player/pitlord, then you MUST send a PM to the joint account. This is THE ONLY way to ensure that your desires will be met. I have made this mistake before and such is life.....

I see people bending over backward, and the fact is that mistakes were made. If we are to go to such limits when the mistake was not wholly the GMs/PitLords mistake, but ultimately Aramil's, then this is going to be the expectation for all such future occurrences.

PM The PitLords with ALL weekly changes pertinent to you and your characters.

This is the message that I have seen posted time and again in the tavern.

Hang in there Aramil, live and learn. There is no reason to leave over this, but you also needs to be understanding of how hectic the boards are at times.

(This was not meant as anything against Aramil, but more how this has been handled.)

I think there should be a thread just for replace requests and vacation announcements.

edit: or better yet, would be that the tavern was used a lot less, thusly lowering the risk to lose these important posts.

@Mo -

The problem is that the post may have occurred several days before the pairings. That's why using PM is so important. We save the PM's until pairings, when we can easily review all the important notices about vacations, etc.

So using a PM is a far superior method to posting and is what we prefer for notice.
