Forgiving the bad English, I’m curious as to exactly what you’re looking for with this? I mean…I love good character backgrounds, but, at the same time, am loathe to simply hand the ones I have wholesale for someone to simply steal and present to their DM/ST as their own.

That said, I have thorough histories regarding several characters of mine, most are 5 or more pages, and a few extend up to 20+. Here are the e’er so brief overviews of a few of them. Please! Do not steal these whole clothe, or at least ask me before hand.

Hallo Sylphine Elvenfire: androphobic ranger/mage, second born daughter of an elven merchant house. Story regards her androphobia, subsequent banishment to the wilderness and joining an adventuring group.

Jet (pet name): Born, grew up, fell in love, died, reincarnated due to youthful promise to protect her lover as long as she lived, came back as a panther, awakened by a druid whom was particularly puzzled over some of her behavior, tracked down her lover and now pretends to be her familiar/animal companion.

Victoria deLong: Born elven lycanthrope, grew up, chosen (in part due to being daughter of ‘chief’) as part of a group to find a new home where the village could expand to due to minor overpopulation, roved the world for a few years, converted religions, learned prestige class, found new woods, negotiated with natives, returned home, led some villagers to new location, eventually took control of swath of forest, declaring a new nation after rescuing leading members of neighboring nations and negotiating peaceful creation. ‘cause everyone needs a weretiger rogue 11/shadowdancer 12, chosen of Sune, queen of the Wealdath, all but wed to a (now) redeemed greater succubus/bard/seeker of the song, Xenara, and their a half fiendish daughter and warmage, princess Firlanna. (Epic game, current favorite character. Leadership + improved cohort + epic leadership + fiendish cohort + draconic cohort (did I mention the dragon running one of the academies?) + a nation + castle + three businesses = das uber leadership score. Currently ~100,000 followers). Also considered bad form when your character and her cohorts come to about half the party. Most of them get left at the castle or work as backdrop. Most of this has occurred in game.

Ari’avin: Elven rogue, traveling with her childhood friends to the Big City and looking for adventure. (not as detailed as of yet. I’m working on it!)

(spaced on name): Aquatic elf, captured by pirates while trying to rescue her pet, abused for several years, bore a child to the captain, escaped during massive storm after catching a blade dropped by one of the pirates and wishing for a way out, gaining her levels in warmage, promptly sinking the ship and passing out, returning to the scene days later, rummaging a few things together and heading for land to hunt pirates.

Other characters for systems not specified…

Sarena: Raised predominately by father as mother was terminally ill, became dark and morbid upon her death, failed acceptance into any/all colleges she applied to until MIT, at the interview board one person in particular caught her attention and they spoke at length, went into computer science per her fathers bidding minoring in philosophy as she wanted, joined group of prankers on campus, eventually embraced as a vampire by the board member.

Crystal “Flash”: Born to minor elven nobility, mother started trying to induct her into the ways of the court, working to improve her position and aiming for high nobility, fled when she grew tired of the politics and the way her mothers mentor/patron was vehemently elf supremacist and saw it rubbing off on her mother, moved to neighboring nation seeking employment in the underground, working her way to “troubleshooter” and working in the shadows.

Kathy: Born into a family of IRA terrorists, her parents were slain at a very young age by a car bomb, raised by her grandparents at a safe house, went to college a bit and discovered that there was apparently some kind of history with her parents, moved to the US to find out what, worked the bar/club/night scene, became involved in a group when their teacher was slain and they believed something more was up than the police were letting on.

I think that’s a decent start for a few characters…as I said before, I do have significantly more detailed backgrounds, they’re just…Long.

My only D&D character...

Cormick Aodh: psion (kineticist), fighter, rogue, and only child of a mercenary couple. Due to his weak muscles, he had to work especially hard to carry on the family work. Discovered his innate psionic talent in the middle of a heated battle, then taught himself how to manifest this newfound powers. Married his best friend, Kyna (a girl from another mercenary family), shortly after his parents died in a poorly planned battle. Years later his wife was captured, quite possibly slain or worse by an unknown wilder. Failed to find either of them over the course of two years and went to an arena to work up funds for a magical/psionic way to locate one or both of them. (And here's where the game started) Met the rest of the party at the aforementioned arena and was conscripted into the realm's military with them.

My characters also have more lengthy write-outs of their backstories, but they're a bit large to post.

D20Modern and L5R characters coming soon. lol!
