I have started a 15 year old male CN Human Sorcerer called Lachar Santiago. It's my first character, and I'm trying to think of ways to expand his character. Note: From the open quotes to the end quotation mark, its not completely necisary to read that, but i put it in anyway.

"I've had one background story session with my DM, and have rooted out that my character is a sorcerer prodigy who had some form of control over magic far before the norm for magic users, but his parents tried to discipline him to not use magic, as it may cause him to become an outcast of sorts. The amount of magic not being used gradually built up within him. At first it was unnoticable, but slowly it began to make him appear better looking to others, and be more persuasive, and other such social alterations.

The magic began to become visable, as the magic that wasn't being used caused disruptions in its' enviroment such as igniting the air, which caused onlookers to become quite unnerved by his presence.

One day, a boy came running to find Lachar, to tell him that his family's house was on fire. Lachar rushed to the house to find the front door well and truly off its' hinges. As he walked inside the centre room of the house was engulfed in an unnatural darkness, but Lachar rushed past. As he reached the end bedroom, Lachar's dad was lying unconcious next to a stone golem ( not too sure why a rock golem is next to dad in a burning house yet ).

All of Lachar's unnused magic came forth in the form of a tremendous delayed fireball, that just about cleared half the house, along with half of the golem. It begen to lumber towards Lachar as chunks of molten rock slid off of the monster. Lachar up and ran straight from the house, firing at it with the family crossbow as he went. Out into the street and then some, as Lachar led it through narrow streets which the golem widened with its torso, and into many of the town guard who fell like trees to an avalanche. After a good 10 minutes it finally gave it's last breath and came to a standstill, still upright as it tried to clear its way through another narrow alley way. Lachar rushed back to the house which was now well and truly alight and grabbed his dad. He dragged him slowly out of the house amidst the framework crumbling on top of them. He just made it out the door before falling unconcious ( litterally last movement action was making it through the doorway ). He and his dad were rushed to hospital. "

Though this may not have cllered an awful lot up, i have a general idea of my roots, but not much in the ways of a character. Any help would be much appreciated.

You should check out Lute the mage from fire emblem: sacred stones for the gameboy advance for your general additude toward others. I believe she uses the term "prodigy" also

I looked her up and it says she very studious, and quite boastful of her talents. I'm trying to lean towards a kind of "immense natural talent" area, and not constantly boastful, though it can be part of his beliefs. She does sound very similar though. Our DM has decided to split the allignments into elements, and to kill off true neutral in a kind of KOTOR style good-or-bad situations, and it seems as though my character will be assigned wind ( as Chaotic Neutral ).
