Greetings,

My friends and myself are starting a campaign in which we have 20 lvls to do whatever we want with. we have base gold to start with, no extra magical items to better help creat my class...all i have are stats and a character genre i want to play.

Stats

+5 to add due to lvls.

we are not allowed Psionics, or gesalts...so knowing that, any finger point in a fun directions will be great.

Char Genre - His outlook is simple, gain power through others. he is brash, quick to act...a shoot now, ask questions later. he will end up bieng chaotic evil, yet portray himself to be nuetral. the DM will take the session to a diff level later on by giving us some DvR. so basically im looking for a bad ass char to play. im not looking to play the 200k average dmg class combos...as i want to play a fun char and not a one shot killer.

It can be melee, caster, or both...it doesnt matter. im looking for some fun ideas. and being new to the forums i dont know excactly where to post this. the CO board ran me off saying i should read some FAQ...ill get the hang out posting sooner or later.

thanks for any help that is given.

CO boards tend to get sticky about how much info you give on your post. This board, too, tends to ask that you give us a little bit more on what you want to play.

Generally speaking when you post asking for help you should give people a general direction on what your going for. All you have given is a rough sketch out of a personality.

That being said I'll offer you a couple suggestions that can be fun and see if anything catches your eye.

Human Warmage/Fatespinner with the leadership feat. Looks to start a mercenary army of his own in order to garner wealth and power without having to personally fight every battle.

Gnome Mindbender. Tends to enthrall the biggest meanest looking creatures around to prove that size does matter but its not the be-all end-all of power.

Half-Elven Rogue. A liar, a cheat, and a charlatan. Never tell the truth when a lie will do. Think Garak of DS9. Maybe with a little less deadly of a background though.

Doppleganger Mindspy. "I knew you were going to do that. Perhaps we should talk."

As you can see there a lot of options for the vague concept you've brought to the fore. Give us a better idea of what you want and we'll give you a better idea of how to get it. Same goes for char-op actually. If you want them to help, make sure you tell them what you are trying to do so they can help build it. They do builds, we do backgrounds, personalities, and traits that make a character a memoreable roleplaying experience.

Human warlock/barbarian - Outcast from the barbarian tribes due to his violent nature and secret admiration of demonic spirits
Fighter/Cleric of erythnul - Revels in slaughter and yet tries to appear normal
Rogue/sorceror - Uses his magical skills to relieve other's of their stuff and gets his way through manipulation/deceit and magic
Dwarven barbarian/fighter - Used to fight in a lot of wars. When the wars stopped he began to feel bored and now decides to go adventuring so that he can feel the thrill of battle

actually, this is exactly what i was looking for... a stepping stone. i very much like the idea of the gnome mindbender, as well as the fighter cleric...the only thing with the Ftr/Clr is, i was looking for something much like a MT with the Clr/Wiz and what they have. that would never work though.

Also i was just thinking, is it possible to obtain 9th level divine spells and arcane spells with 20 levels, or perhaps 22?

I don't think you can get 9th lvl in both by 20th but maybe by 22 if you took both MT and True Nec or Arcane Hier.

Glad to see you liked one set of choices. I personally love the mindbender class since it makes traps so much fun to deal with.
