Here is the beginning framework for a drarf character I am starting to run -

Background details and further information on the dwarf Shrindi Vhashtar Rumnaheim.

Shrindi is from the Snowbight (def of “bight”: an angle or bend) mountain range which is around 400 miles west of Edmundson. The tallest peak in the Snowbight range is approximately 24000 ft according to dwarf records and is known as desolation peak. The Snowbights are the most unknown and captivating mountains in the west and their shadow stretches far. They are a boundless expanse of peaks, most of which have not been explored by outsiders, and maps of the area are fiercely protected by the dwarves who keep their secrets underground. Travelers in the mountains are compelled to employ the guide services of the elves of the region which are on good terms with the dwarves. The elves are very familiar with the mountain passes and entrances to the dwarf kingdom of Dalgannor, but they will never divulge the whereabouts of the entrances to outsiders no matter what. Even under pain of death.

Underneath the exterior of forbidding snowcapped peaks exists the dwarf kingdom of Dalgannor. So named after the ancient dwarf king Rurik Dankil Dalgannor, founder and hero of the dwarfs. Tales abound of his great deeds founding and fortifying the city against the mortal enemies of the dwarfs. Under his leadership the city flourished and has become the kingdom it is today. The massive halls of Dalgannor truly are the stuff of legends as entire generations of dwarves have lived and toiled under the mountain territory. Great halls, passages, staircases and bridges connect the dwarf communities and mines where gold and precious metals and gems are turned into weaponry and art.

Shrindi Vhashtar Rumnaheim grew up in Dalgannor, the son of Barendi Talkirk Rumnaheim, patriarch of the well respected Rumnaheim clan of dwarf warrior guards. The “Old Guard”, as they are known, are the first line of defense of Dalgannor. It is typical that at some point a male of this clan will venture outside the walls for the purpose of embarking on a self directed quest. The point being that life outside will inevitably lead to a testing. It is a crucible of sorts to sharpen oneself to battle and to gain wisdom that can only be obtained outside the caverns of Dalgannor.

The bonds formed outside the cloistered enclave of dwarves are sometimes strong and enduring. Thus, the Rumnaheim clan is known as a band of world wise renaissance warriors. Not typical of dwarves, never the less, they are well respected.

So what do you guys think about it so far?
