So my character in a campaign has been keeping a journal. I was thinking to help myself get into character I would actually write a blog for my character. Then right before a game session I could read some of it to help get into the character and mindset. I was wondering if anyone else has done this? If you have not done anything like that would you consider it? I was hoping I was not the only one and was looking for others to read because it seems like a neat idea.

I do this regularly with my characters. It helps you get into character and it is a great way to take notes about the campaign. My DM loves reading them for adventure ideas and to make sure his notes are correct.

My journals are all in hand-wrtiten notebooks and I don't have ascanner to easily post them for you. I typically just take good notes of what my character does and witnesses. Then after the game I write the notes up as a journal entry in character. Sorry I can't post anything. Here a rough outline of what I normally put in:
1. Date
2. Comments about the weather
3. Comment about events that happen that day.
a. descript what the even was
b. how the character feels about it
c. how the other pc's and npc's responsed
d. character's opinion about the others actions or ideas
4. comment about little things
a. food
b. people/beast of burden
c. weather again
d. thoughts of the future and past
That's normally goes in my journals.

Ah.. I was hoping you had a blog online. Though the notes idea I will have to do.. a random comment about the weather and how it is would fit my elven bard quite nicely..

Check my sig for my characters diary. Warning: It's looooonnngggg, but then he is 12th level, and I've expanded my writing style to add a little more flavor and readability. The first several pages are pretty straight forward diary style entries, but as it progresses you will see a lot more detail and dialogue. It's been tons of fun to write, and better yet, my DM gives xp bonus' for it which really helps since the character is a wizard who loves to craft items.

The cherry on the top is the many great and faithfull readers who have submitted feedback and encouragment. Go to the Once Upon A Time boards and you will probably find more.
