I've been playing in this one game for over a year now. (actually, I think last week made it our 1st year anniversery), and just lately, my character had a big change of heart.

Mikado is a very angry woman. She was trained as a Samurai since she was a girl, but as soon as she came the age of "Knighthood", there was a new emperor who thought all woman were inferior to Men, and all the women Samurai heading into service or currently in service were expected to do the "honorable" thing and take thier own lives in front of all the Male Samurai, or to be used as "Morale Boosters" for the ones with good looks. Of course, Mikado wouldn't have anything to do with this and left the country in order to train, come back, and slay the emperor.

She has always had an atitude problem, turning almost counter culture in thinking that Women are superior to man, (even though at first, she would disquise herself as a Man in order to "lay low"). Since she's lost alot due to her training, her years, her family, etc. She usually uses her Intimidating skills in order to get her way, whether it's bossing another PC around, or threatening someone's life.

Mikado, a now level 13th Samurai is currently with a few comrades in order to take down a Lich Possesed Gnome. But, in a fight gone horribly, horribly wrong, our "Plan B", a Overcharged Rod of Teleportation (used to travel between planes) which we used to escape put us on the plane of Shadow. Plan B didn't go so well, we went with "Plan B Alt." and thought of the most happiest place on earth. My character was thinking the "Heroic Domains of Ysgard", but we actually ended up on the "Blessed Fields of Elysium". For those who don't know to much about the Planes, Elysium has this Entrapping effect, where people feel increasing Joy and Satisfaction while they are there. After awhile, some characters don't want to return.

I've made my Will Save, but that wasn't the problem that occured. What did occur was a "Deck of Past and Future Possibilites". (Pretty much a Deck of Many things that uses the whole deck). I drew one card, and my Alignment went from Lawful Neutral to Lawful Good, and I now emit a Radius of "Emotion: Calm" and "Friendship". The DM later stated that it was probably due to the Plane's Magical Influence.

After it was all said and done, I was "forced" to return back to the material plane. At the end of the session, EXP was awarded, and I leveled up. I was originally planning on Taking Ronin levels once I slay the emperor, however, I feel that my character had a change of heart. No longer angry at the world, she wants to bring truth and justice to it rather than her wrathful revenge.

And now, I'm not sure what to take her into. Samurai doesn't seem to match her characteristic anymore. I'm not entirely sure what does.

I really don't have to worry about a "conflicting" class, because the DM I have is really a story based one, and if it was for story purposes, he wouldn't punish me by harder encounters. But I just can't find the right class that would help in this case.

So any ideas on what I could do?

Try the Knight Protector (Complete Warrior) or the Purple Dragon Knight (also complete warrior), probably replacing "Purple Dragon" with some other organization for story purposes.

Still a Samuria - but now she takes Leadership and become a Lady of Blades - ie you take Female Samuria and girls/women who wish to become Samuria, as well thier male supporters as your followers.

She no longer wishes to kill the the Emperor but rather she will strive to show by example {both personal and through her followers } why Female Samuria should be accepted by him and the Empire!

You would also be able to use that new radius "Calm and Friendship" as well as your character's new desire to bring truth and justice to the world.

Samurai doesn't mean just dieing for your lord - sometimes it means living an example for them to ;)

First, I recomend a good book about a RL probably Lawful good to Lawful Neutral Samurai who was also, in the end, a Renegade. The Last Samurai: The Life and Battles of Saigo Takamori by Mark Ravina. it might give you some ideas.

If she wants to bring Truth and Justice to the World, how about Paladin?

All the Best,
