I'm sorry if this is a bit abstract, though I've been having a hard time nailing things down. Partially the is because I'm still getting familiar with the Eberron campaign setting (in which this character will play in). Right now, what I know for sure, is the character will start as a Cleric and go into the Fiendbinder PrC (Tome of Magic). For those unfamiliar with this class, it's a prestige class based around binding fiends (mostly demons and devils) into your control, permanently. You do this by speaking their truename. Each time you give the a command it requires a truespeak check as you exert your control over them with their truename. The fiends are not happy and serve unwillingly, though have no choice. There is a lot of room for interesting RP since the fiends must obey you, though they can exert some control of their own. For example, if you don't command it (and back it up with the skill check) to not speak then it can speak whatever it wants, even in an attempt to kill you (obviously using some tact since if you hear you can do whatever you want with it via commands). A Fiendbinder gets a new available fiend to bind each level and it doesn't have a limit of how many they can have. Commanding them takes a standard action so it's not feasible to have an army. This PrC gives a lot of room for roleplay aspects, a lot of interesting ones. As a Cleric this really opens it up as well. I can play as a Neutral Cleric using the evil fiends against their own kind, an Evil Cleric whose working with fiends and tries to earn the trust of it's bound fiends as well as working with superiors in the relevant fiends hierarchy, an Evil Cleric abusing evil powers, etc. Lots of options. I'm not sold on a specific alignment, though I must be non-good. So no goody two shoes, though I can be neutral, so I can take a non-evil slant on things, just not a fully good one. One PrC I might take a dip in is Stormlord. This would gain me the ability to hurl lightening empowered lances. I am considering this since it gives my character a bit of additional flavor. I do not know what race I will be. I may be a human to get the feat to qualify for Stormlord, though if I drop Stormlord I'd rather choose a race with more RP flavor (or remain human for RP flavor if it fits). This campaign is in Eberron and I am trying to get up to speed with it, though there's quite a bit. Any ideas, concepts. I'm sorry of this is a bit vague and can go in so many directions, maybe you all have some ideas involving Eberron specific stuff, since I'm having a hard time placing my character in that. |

Isn't that a FR PrC based on the worship of Talos? Without a little more direction I would point out that a good starting point may well be The Age of Demons. Ebberons world has gone through several age and one of the first (the first?) was the Age of Demons. During this time the whole world (or at the very least Khorvaire) was ruled by the ancient and powerful Rakhasha Lords. You may well want to consider a role within the church of The Silver Flame. This works especially well for a nuetral character who wants to control powerful and dangerous forces. Hopefully that'll give you a better starting point than you have. |
