02-13-04, 12:10 AM It has come to my attention that there is a link to this board on the Forgotten Realms board. Normally I'd say this forum neds all the links it can get, the more the merrier. However, in this case it leads many people to believe that this board is an extension of the Forgotten Realms board. Which it is not. This is a d20 forum, it is about all settings (and it's not even exclusive to D&D), so please don't expect everyone to play Forgotten Realms. Of course I recognize that players of Forgotten Realms of just as much right to post here as the next person. But you do have your own stupid message board (several...)

Yeah but forgotten realms is a D20 product...
It looks to me that you don't like us forgotten realms players posting here, but if we don't do that anymore how many will there be left on this board? I mean there are not to many of us...

'Course, ninth seems to be a bit more open minded about this than I am. I say you got your own board, so go there and stay there. But all he's sayin' is that you would do well to realize that this is not an extension of the FR boards (although somebody sure did make that mistake an easy one to make...).

But you want to take it to mean that FR fanboys aren't welcome here, fine.

Then again, people with 'Character Development' related questions who are playing in Forgotten Realms have just as much right to the forum as anyone in Greyhawk, Ravenloft, Modern, SW d20 or Babylon 5 [I need to find a B5 book myself... no one around here sells it!].

Please get off the campaign setting high horse.

The fact of the matter is, however, that if we post things that belong in this forum there we will be directed to this forum and our post will likely be moved.

02-14-04, 11:24 AM Would they really? Have seen any of those threads people put here because the name of the board no longer distinguishes it from the Optimization board? I remember when it was In Depth Roleplaying and Min/Maxing. You couldn't mistake one for the other, but now people tink "oh I'm developing me character's stats," and so they ask about feats and class combos. And those threads are still here, even though we all know they shouldn't be. I haven't really seen a whole lot of police work on this board (any to be honest, not that a lot is really needed). But I wouldn't say just becuase you don't get moved means you're on the right forum.

We get a lot of D&D posters because D&D is the most popular d20 product in the world.

We get a lot of FR posters because FR is the most popular D&D setting currently in print.

Even fi the link were not there we would still get posters. What's wrong with that anyway?

As for people posting here mistakenly...that's an easy fix. If you see someone posting here for the wrong reson then politely tell them this is the wrong board, point them to the right one. Then report the thread so an admin can move it.

What's the big deal?

As for confusion over where to post, report a thread if you feel it is in the wrong place and I'll review it to see if it does indeed belong somewhere else.

After the name changes, each board is indeed broadened to include some more threads that may not have belonged before the change. This is the Character Development board any question about such is fine.

Closed for unneccessary negativity.
