0gre 11-05-04, 03:59 AM	I didn't roll so well for my wizard character so I thought I'd take my low stats and make something interesting to RP out of it. Str 8 Dex 9 Con 8 Int 17 Wis 10 Cha 12 I was thinking a cursed character might be cool to play. Any weird and bizarre ideas you have? I was thinkig of a "soulless" character, whatever that would entail. Maybe he sold his soul for magic to overcome his weak body but it corrupted him even more making him even worse in physical condition. Now that he's seen the horror of what he's done to himself, he's repented and good aligned, but he has to constantly fight against his curse as his body is wracked with pain and grewsome physical changes. Any other ideas?
scrollreader 11-05-04, 05:42 AM	You could make him withered, and old before his time, fro insulting a witch. Maybe he gave an older sorceror his youth, in exchange for magical power. Maybe he made a deal with the devil, or is the victim of the true mind switch. And got an axe to grind with the Psion running around in his body.
Rudysseus 11-05-04, 07:13 PM	Depending on alignment, you could take this one of two different ways. If you want to do a good character, you could say he was placed under a "Dying Curse" which can be found in the Book of Vile Darkness. That's basically like you've killed the powerful witch but she looks up and just before she dies, she yells "A plague on you, heroes!" and then the DM pretty much has a set of curses he can put on you, or make up something terrible. If you were good, you could have been subject to one of those curses, and your punishment is that your use of magical power (any type, divine or arcane) eats away at your life, making you age much faster than normal (and is currently responsible for your physically depleted condition, even tho by technical statistic standards the stats never changed), so you are sort of left with the decision to use your magic for good purposes, slowly killing yourself in the process, or not to do something else class wise. You could take that sort of thing very much in the same direction as an evil or maybe neutral character with evil tendencies. you are cursed by a goodly person for crimes. maybe you stole some magic from your wizard teacher and this is his additional punishment, aside from booting you out of his school. He so doesnt want you to have anything to do with magic that any use of magic by you ages you slightly. You could also back off the severity of that curse by just saying you age physically, as in appearance looks older and maybe your physical stats atrophy, but you wont die until you're actual time to die. So, in essence, you could look like you were 100 years old by the time you were 30, and when you did actually die at like age 65, you would end up looking like you were 200 years old. depending on your magical use, these numbers can be accelerated. hope this helps

But in all actuality you are more like 400 years old but only have memories of your child hood and some hazy ones in between. heck you could even go home to find out that it is a ghost town and that no-one has lived ther for 300 years while you think everyone is playing a cruel joke. But only my opinion
