In some cultures, the taking of trophies is seen as taking on the strengths of the old possessor. From shrunken heads to fetishes to even odder objects, this can be seen around the world.

Now, I have another idea.

I have recently created a character for a MUCK I am planning on later converting to d20/D&D 3.5. His name is Rhaxyn, and he takes the blades of his enemies and adds them to his own.

No, Rhaxyn does not have his own forge. He carries the blades with him and adds them when he gets a chance at a forge. His world is low/no magic, but I was also wondering about forging magical blades into the ones he wields.

At any given time, Rhaxyn will eventually carry a number of different blades; as it is, he only carries two; a nearly-complete, cleaver-like sword, and a smaller one he has only recently started. All of his blades are fine steel from his careful work, and from the careful removal of all impurities from the weapons he uses as materiel.

What feats/skills/etc should he have?

Craft (Weaponsmithing) and Craft Magic Arms and Armor should be all, I believe.

What do you think of the idea, however?

Also, should his weapons garnerr any bonuses based on his work? Or would they just be masterwork?

I think thats a really cool idea. Maybe your dm would let you create ultra-masterwork weapons (+2) or something like that if not the kensai prestige class from complete warrior fits your idea.

Yeah, I could do that. I don't have Bo9S, though, so I can't do the Kensai...

Kensai isn't Bo9S. I believe it can be found in either oriental adventures or complete warrior.

Aside that take a look at the concept of legacy weapons. I would take a little work to mesh out the exact mechanics but could easily provide you with one weapon well worth the effort.

Kensai is Complete Warrior btw

These seem to fit low-magic games well. It allows for creation of masterwork items past +1 bonuses. Although I'd suggest lowering the DC (Their rules requires a DC 20, then 40, then 60 for just a +3 bonus).
